[9.0] "I was such a big fan of this guy. He reminded me so much of Bruiser Brody. Brodie Lee was so damn good in the ring, like so damn good. The guy could go, given his size you would've thought he'd be kind of generic, but man he was anything but. WWE never gave him a chance, whilst they did kind of let him go into his own post Wyatt Family, they just never put their all into him. Having heard what Erick Rowan said about Vince not liking Brodie's accent... just goes to show they were never able to really look past that. To me, Brodie was so damn good on the mic, his accent didn't matter at all, it suited him and, in my eyes, shouldn't have even been a discussion. He wrestled like an absolute mad man, his gimmick as Luke Harper was so damn good. I never really got to see him as Brodie Lee, aside from a few little segments and the Cody match, but I liked what I saw. So sad to see a HUGE talent like Brodie Lee taken away from us so early. Had so much left to offer, was only just starting to scratch the surface as to what he's capable of doing whilst he was in AEW. Will be remembered very fondly by fans, and screw Vince for holding his accent against him. Would've been a world champion had it not been for Vince not liking the way he sounded."

Brodie was also a just a great guy who was beloved by basically everyone in the industry."

[8.0] "One of the brightest midcarders of modern WWE! He was fantastically agile for his size and at the same time very strong and technically professional. His image of a village villain in the Wyatt Family is probably his main segment in his career, because he became really famous and popular here, he held great matches in various lineups and with the best wrestlers of the USA and Europe. I really became a fan of Luke Harper when he had a great match with John Cena and his tough fight of his brothers in arms against the Shield in 2014. In general, their grouping deserves a separate mention, but it will be too long, I will rather evaluate their grouping in another category, now I will only say that this is a successful project that has given us dozens of interesting stories and hundreds of top-level matches. After the breakup of the family, Luke went on a solo voyage and at first achieved success becoming an Intercontinental Champion and this part of his career was also bright, he was remembered for his match against Dolph Ziggler on TLC and his participation at WrestleMania in a ladder match where he was very cool. Also, I want to remember his charismatic match against Dean Ambrose on Extreme Rules. In general, I found him all his career in WWE and I'm happy that he was there. You can write for a very long time, remembering the Bludgeon Brothers reunion and his close path to the WWE title when people really wanted to see him as a winner. As a result, things got worse in WWE and he left the company and went to conquer AEW where he became the leader of the Dark Order and this period of his life became a turning point, he was seen from the side of a cool leader who can be starring in the main events of the show. Unfortunately, his path ended there, he only felt the power and became a TNT champion as he abruptly left us. I will remember him as an absolutely loving man who gave his all to the great sport! Thank you Jonathan Huber!"

Der richtige Breakout Moment im Mainstream Wrestling kam dann aber erst, nachdem er WWE wieder verlassen und sich AEW angeschlossen hatte. Dort konnte er sowohl sein Charisma und seine Ausstrahlung als The Exalted One von Dark Order zeigen, als auch sein Können im Ring mit Matches gegen Cody und Jon Moxley. Darüber hinaus konnte man sich bei Talk is Jericho (noch zu WWE Zeiten) ein Bild davon machen, was für ein sympathischer, witziger und gebildeter Mensch er war. Es ist sehr schade, dass er bei AEW keine Show mit voller Zuschauerkapazität erleben konnte, aber dennoch dürfte die Zeit bei AEW als eine der besten seiner Karriere in Erinnerung bleiben, auch wenn ich seinen Run bei Dragon Gate nicht gesehen habe und mir vorstellen kann, dass er dort sicher auch super reingepasst hat. Sehr schade, dass wir ihn nicht länger erleben konnten. Er hätte mit Sicherheit ohne seine Krankheit noch zehn gute Jahre im Business vor sich gehabt."

"Brodie Lee/Luke Harper war ein talentierter, vielversprechender Big Man Wrestler, mit für seine Statur beachtlicher Athletik, einem nicht abzusprechendem, einzigartigem Charisma samt Look und äußerst soliden rhetorischen Fähigkeiten. Gleichzeitig war er aber auch, beachtet man die zahllosen Statements von Kollegen und Freunden, einer der beliebtesten, sympathischsten und gutherzigsten Menschen während seiner Zeit im Wrestling Geschäft. Sein ebenso plötzliches, wie tragisches Ableben war ein Schock das für diese Generation von Wrestling Fans seinesgleichen sucht. Für mich, auch aufgrund der Umstände (Mitten in der Karriere und in tragender Rolle regelmäßig im TV zu sehen) höchstens vergleichbar mit dem Tod Eddie Guerreros von vor 15 Jahren. Aus privat/persönlicher Sicht eine unfassbare Tragödie, betrachtet man speziell, dass er Frau und Tochter und eine Menge trauernder Mit-Wrestler und Fans hinterlässt. Vom professionellen Blickwinkel her betrachtet ist es aus meiner Sicht unglaublich schade, dass Brodie nie wirklich das in ihm schlummernde Potential als Star wirklich zur Entfaltung bringen konnte. Entweder wurde ihm von seinem Arbeitgeber die dazu nötige Bühne verwehrt ( WWE), oder er musste abgedroschenes, chaotisches Booking rund um seine Person ausbaden (mag Geschmackssache sein, aber ich war nie ein Fan von der Dark Order in AEW und fand Lee in der Rolle als Anführer unglücklich besetzt). Als es zumindest vom Standing her, im vergangenen Jahr aussah, als würde er in seiner neuen Heimatliga zeigen können, was in ihm schlummert, musste er pandemiebedingt auf die notwendige Resonanz durch Publikum größtenteils verzichten. Wir werden leider nie mehr erfahren, was für ein Superstar Brodie Lee tatsächlich vor Fan-Massen hätte sein können. Ich bin aber trotz allem überzeugt davon, dass die Wrestling-Welt am 26. 12. 20 eine ihrer größten Persönlichkeiten verloren hat. In diesem Sinne.... Ruhe in Frieden John Huber/Brodie Lee/Luke Harper und danke für die Erinnerungen."

[9.0] "Im Sommer habe ich ihm 8 Punkte gegeben, die ich nun nach oben korrigieren will. Er war ein guter Big Man und ungewöhnlich agil. Leider hatte er nur eine kurze Zeit in AEW, doch in diesem knapp halben Jahr hat er nochmal 2 gute Matches zu Stande gebracht. Einmal das Titelmatch mit Moxley, indem er bewiesen hat, dass er zurecht einen Main Event Spot belegen konnte und schließlich in seinem letzten Match, dem Dog Collar Match gegen Cody. Das war das beste Singles Match was ich von ihm gesehen habe. In der WWE hatte er u. a. ein hervorragendes 6-Man Tag Team Match mit der Wyatt Family gegen The Shield. Dort konnte er im und außerhalb des Ringes nicht dauerhaft sein komplettes Potential abrufen. In AEW ist er leider zum schlimmstmöglichen Zeitpunkt, bei der ersten Show ohne Zuschauer debütiert, wodurch ihm auch ein großes Debüt in seiner Heimatstadt genommen wurde, aber dennoch hat er trotz all der widrigen Umstände sofort die Dark Order auf ein anderes Level gehoben und wirkte wie ein legitimer Main Eventer, der im Ring gut war und plötzlich auch von seinem Charakter her absolute Ausstrahlung besaß. Er hat das beste aus diesen Umständen gemacht und viel wichtiger ist wohl, dass er es geschafft hat alle Mitglieder der Dark Order zu verbessern und auf ein neues Level zu heben. Insbesondere Jon Silver und Anna Jay haben von ihm enorm profitiert. Es zeigt die Klasse des Wrestlers Brodie Lee, wenn die Dark Order zum Ende des Jahres 2019 von fast allen kritisiert wird und plötzlich ein Jahr später bei BTE gefeiert wird und bei Dynamite in Brodie's Tributshow eindrucksvoll ihre starke Entwicklung präsentieren konnte. Es ist schade, dass er so früh von uns gegangen ist, aber zugleich bin ich froh, dass er nochmal am Ende seiner zu kurzen Karriere beweisen konnte, dass er wirklich ein sehr guter Allround Wrestler war. Im Ring, am Mikrofon und von seiner Ausstrahlung her."

In the final years of his life he was able to show his range, going from the silent and deranged hillbilly Luke Harper to the terrifying and deadly, yet somehow hilarious "Exalted One", suit wearing and paper chucking CEO of The Dark Order. Jon played both of these roles with a level of commitment that made them feel real and forever memorable. As an in ring performer, he was one of the very first wave of the modern day big men. He didn't sluggishly trod around like the larger than life villains of old but instead attacked and flew with a speed and agility that belied his size. He could keep up, and in fact probably outwork, anyone he faced; but he usually selflessly made others look better than him instead. It's this talent that brought such a spark to the famous Wyatt Family 6 man tag matches in WWE, and truly all of his matches. As a human being, by all accounts, he dwarfed even his sizable accomplishments as a performer. He was a devoted husband, a loving father of 2, and a friend to all who left this earth without a single enemy. The outpouring of grief and admiration after his passing stands as a testament to this fact. Fans of professional wrestling will never forget any of Jon Huber's characters, or the man himself. He stands as a legend of wrestling and a role model. Rest in Peace, Jon and may we all live well enough to be as fondly remember in death as you are."

I had stopped watching WWE's product regularly by the time he debuted there as Luke Harper, but I really enjoyed his work with the Dark Order in AEW. In particular, his destruction of Cody Rhodes to win the TNT Title was one of my favorite segments in recent years. I was disappointed when that didn't really go anywhere and Cody quickly won the title back after taking a few weeks off to sell the injury, and even more disappointed that Lee disappeared from AEW television afterwards.. But now it makes more sense that it happened that way. In any case, Brodie Lee was a big man who could really move and work, who could cut a good promo when he needed to, and who generally was an excellent heel."

What a completely random and devastating loss for the sport. I've always said Brodie Lee was one of the most underrated wrestlers out there, and when he finally started getting the opportunity to shine in AEW earlier this year, I was so happy for him. By all accounts, he was amazing human being irl, a true class act, and had so much passion for the sport ... this just fucking sucks man. Can't believe it. Hope he is in a better place ... Easily one of the most underrated guys in the sport, but I am at least grateful he got to show the world what he was truly capable of before he went, even if only for a little while. And for the record, I'm rating him a 10 not because of his tragic passing, but because he was a truly special wrestler. He was one of the best big guys out there and was a phenomenal wrestler, and he also had great charisma, which was on full display in AEW. I honestly can't believe he's gone. The fact that he never got to hold a world title is just a huge missed opportunity ... Rest easy Brodie, thanks for everything man. You will be missed."

He was quickly able to give his stable more meaning. Although his run as TNT Champion was somewhat brief, Lee used it as a way to climb the ranks of AEW. The feud with Cody was great for both men. Also, Lee has cut some of the best promo's in the company's history. This serves to his advantage, as it makes a more well-rounded wrestler, given his abilities as a powerhouse."

His short lived feud with Moxley was really good despite being so short and he felt like the only real legitimate threat to the AEW Title. His moveset is fairly simple but yet extremely effective and I loved the discus clothesline/lariat. His 3 min match against Cody when he completely squash him was the most interesting and enjoyable segment I watched Post CoVID in 2020."
[6.0] "Brodie Lee has the physical attributes to be a stand out wrestler. However, the when given singles runs his lack of ring skills are cruelly exposed. He is anything but fluid, has trouble linking moves and relies on surprise counter strikes (although these are brilliant). With his build Lee should be dominating from the front foot, but he doesn't have the ability to pull off impressive powerful slams and throws. As a result his matches are always basic and always follow a similar formula. As the Exalted One he is very disappointing and it seems obvious that the role was never intended for him. His whole package is anything but "exalted" from his speaking to his clothing, he just doesn't fit the Dark Order and doesn't have the personality to lift the stable. I'd say Brodie Lee is massively overrated and cannot recall any impressive singles matches. In AEW so far he has been gifted a title shot as thanks for signing on, if that terrible discuss clothesline wins the title it will be a bad day for the company."
[10.0] "Harper is the definition of an excellent wrestler that is never used at his full capacity. If WWE just gave him a mic and let him put on a match with the likes of Ricochet he'd be a top midcarder at the least. But he's fully capable of being a top face or heel. ""

He's skilled in the ring & has some interesting characteristics, but he's hardly been given a chance. He was a great member of the Wyatts, but let's be honest: that role was only going to get over Bray & it was never going to do anything for Harper. When he went solo, there looked like there might be something there, but he could never get rolling. I thought he looked best as part of the Bludgeon Brothers. In a world where tag teams are few and far between, they were a welcome addition. Also Rowan is sucking & unnatural with Bryan, so it helps both guys. Harper alone is a little too much of a Brody knockoff for my tastes, which is another reason why I liked him as part of the Bludgeon Brothers. Harper is no spring chicken & is up there in age, so unfortunately I'm not sure he has much of a future left. Perhaps if he is ever able to get out from under his WWE contract he can do something in the indies or try for AEW, but time is not on his side."

Harper's matches are always entertaining, and though he's not much of a talker, he's not bad either when given the chance. But I remember his performance in 2014, the way he's been utilized in 2015 is not his fault, I always look forward to Luke Harper-matches, and I just hope the WWE will at one point start to use him the way he deserves it"

Hasn't failed to impress me further as a solid midcarder for the WWE, however it's a true shame that he isn't used to his full capability, despite having a great image and natural rapport with the audience. Big Rig's feud with Claudio Castagnoli in CHIKARA Pro is something I remember dearly, and their Steel Cage showdown still to this day holds up as one of my all time favourite wrestling matches. Hopefully Luke Harper gets a little more singles success, and soon, right now it seems like they're having him mentor Erick Rowan, and k don't like that very much at all."

Wahrscheinlich hat er den Höhepunkt seines WWE-Runs damit bereits erreicht; jedoch wird er immer in der Lage sein, zumindest gute Matches zu liefern. Luke can cut convincingly chilling promos, his mannerisms as a mysterious and scary big man are convincing during matches, and he is good at mixing up a powerhouse and speedy wrestling style. Not too many big men I see that can pull off power moves like powerbombs and Michinoku Drivers, while at the same time doing high-flier stuff like hurricanranas and suicide dives."

So ist es nun auch bei Luke Harper. Sein sehr mysteriöses Charisma (welches er schon vor seiner Wyatt-Zeit entwickelte), die sehr anspruchsvollen Promos und natürlich seine Fähigkeiten zwischen den Seilen, alles kommt oft eher unerwartet aufgrund seines Erscheinungsbildes und ist deshalb noch umso eindrucksvoller. Als Single-Wrestler kann er nun zeigen, dass er das große Talent des Wyatt-Stables ist, was sich eher früher als später herauskristallisieren dürfte."

Für seine Größe mehr als nur überdurchschnittlich im Ring, mit einem wirklich großartigen Move-Set, darf bei der WWE weit weniger zeigen als er kann. Klare 10!"

Geht in seiner Rolle auf und darf auch am Mikro mal einige Sätze sagen, die er dann auch intensiv rüberbringt. Als Brawler und eben als agiler Big Man sicherlich auch mit Chancen in einer Zeit, in der es die Wyatt Family nicht mehr geben sollte."

"Ich bin ein großer Fan seines Lumberjack Styles. Könnte auch in der WWE im Einzellbereich Fuß fassen, da er nicht so belanglos wirkt wie manch andere Big Man. Harper hat meiner Meinung nach in der Indy Szene bewiesen das er das Potenzial hat gute Matches zu worken. Freu mich immer wieder ihn zu sehen und hoffe das er irgendwann auch mal ohne die Wyatts zu sehen ist."

[6.0] "Harper hat gutes Potenzial auch nach dem Ende des Wyatts-Stables eine gewichtige Rolle in der WWE midcard zu spielen. Im Ring doch beweglicher als es zunächst den Anschein hatte, spielt er auch gern mit seiner Psycho-Mimik im Ring. Am Mic kommt er zwar nicht an Bray ran, konnte aber schon hin und wieder mal zeigen, dass da auch was geht. Noch abgerundet auf 6, aber mit steigender Tendenz."
[7.0] "Es ist kaum zu glauben, was für ein guter Wrestler doch in dem eher ungelenk wirkenden Harper steckt. Er zeigt tolle Powermoves und ist beweglich sowie überraschend vielseitig im Geviert. Was Ausstrahlung angeht, ist er wesentlich auffälliger als Rowan. Er gibt einen ordentlichen Bigman ab, für den bei WWE künftig noch viele Wege offenstehen. Aber erst wenn er mal als Einzelwrestler unterwegs ist oder innerhalb seines Stables der Fokus stärker auf ihn gerichtet wird, kann man ihn realistisch beurteilen. Daher gebe ich erstmal solide 7 Punkte."
[10.0] "The best pure brawler since Bruiser Brody himself. From being one of my favourites on the indy scene and putting on great matches back then, most notably inside a cage with Claudio Castagnoli and a much later battle of power with Michael Elgin, to becoming unarguably a more valued member of the Wyatt Family than the leader Bray Wyatt, this man has done nothing but impress. Harper is also surprisingly good with a microphone in hand and has a great charisma/connection with the crowd. I'm sure that after the Wyatt Family ceases to be that Luke Harper will have a very successful career, I won't say that he'll be a World Champion, but you honestly never know, all the talent is there and so is the look and build, so there's always a chance. One thing is certain though: The past, present and future of this man are all bright, and he will never EVER stray from my list of personal favourites. 10/10."
[10.0] "Probably the most experienced of The Wyatt Family. In my opinion also the most talented. The former Brodie Lee is amazingly agile for his size. His unique look is like a cross between early career Cactus Jack and Bruiser Brody. Very versatile. I predict big things for this man. Wahrscheinlich die von The Wyatt Familie erlebt. Meiner Meinung nach auch die talentiertesten. Der ehemalige Brodie Lee ist erstaunlich agil für seine Größe. Sein einzigartiger Look ist wie eine Kreuzung zwischen frühen Karriere Cactus Jack und Bruiser Brody. Sehr vielseitig. Ich sage voraus, große Dinge für diesen Mann. '"

Pluspunkte gibt es zusätzlich für die fantastische Mimik, die Harper in seiner Rolle zeigt und den Charakter ungemein aufwertet."
[7.0] "Für seine größe ein richtig guter Wrestler. Als ich ihn das erste mal gesehen habe mit der Wyatt Family hätte ich nich gedacht das er seine Sache so gut macht. Könnte ihn mir irgendwann auch mal außerhalb der Wyatt Family vorstellen."
[9.0] "One of the best big men in wrestling today, extremely athletic, great at playing his character, and has an awesome moveset. I predict him to be the breakout star of the Wyatt Family."
[8.0] "Gerade für seine größe im Ring unheimlich unterhaltsam. Hätte Rowan sein Niveau wären die Wyatts wirklich komplett ansehnlich. Zu seinem mic-work kann ich leider nicht großartig was sagen, aber ich finde, dass Ausstrahlung durchaus vorhanden ist. Bei richtigem Booking mit Sicherheit gut in den oberern Card Regionen aufgehoben."
[8.0] "Ich liebe diesen Typen! Bringt sein Gimmick super rüber und zeigt im Ring immer wieder Sachen, die man nicht von so einem erwartet. Dazu hat man das Gefühl, dass er immer besser wird bzw. immer mehr zeigen darf. Außerdem fällt durch ihn gar nicht auf, dass der Rowan nicht so die Bombe ist."
[9.0] "Er wird immer besser und besser, der Mann mit dem größten Potenzial der Wyatts. Spielt das Gimmick großartig, ist ein wahnsinnig guter Wrestler für sein Format und besitzt eine riesige Ring-Intelligenz. Ich sehe ihn mal als World Champion. Bin großer Fan von ihm."

[8.0] "Als Brodie Lee hat er, buchstäblich, seine Fußnote in der Indy Szene hinterlassen. No-Nonsense Heavyweight der seinen Gegnern einfach so die Köpfe mit seinen Big Boots von den Schultern kickt. Und siehe da: Als Luke Harper macht er immer noch das selbe jetzt auch, genau so überzeugend, in der WWE. Bin gespannt wie es mit ihm weitergeht."
[8.0] "BROOOOOOOOOOOOODIE! Oder Luke, was weiß ich. Miese Frisur, Kumpel, aber dir lass' ich das mal durchgehen, das passt zum Outfit und dem restlichen Charakter. Im Ring der vielleicht intensivste Big Man (wie kann ein so netter Kerl eigentlich auf Kommando so aggro werden? ) der WWE, im Ring sowieso über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Bin gespannt, ob er irgendwann die Jeans mal gegen was Anderes tauschen kann und ein seriöser Mainer der WWE wird... Dann vielleicht auch mit guter Frisur."
[9.0] "I have heard of Brodie Lee before he got signed to WWE and came onto NXT because he's one of those big indy names that I've always heard about from time to time, but I've only followed his work ever since he debuted on NXT 4 months ago and became Luke Harper and I've become a big fan of his throughout that span of time! For a guy his size, he's such a badass performer in the ring! He has tremendous power beyond belief, every powerful move he does looks so crisp from his strikes to his wrestling, and he throws a sick looking sidewalk slam as his finisher! Those qualities are just phenomenal! Also judging by his look and his incredible talents, I couldn't think of a better start to Luke Harper's WWE career than for him to be in the position he has been in as a part of the Wyatt Family! Hopefully Luke will get called up to the main roster along with Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan and still be a team with those guys!"
[8.0] "I am pleasantly surprised with the improvements made by Lee recently. He used to be just a plain old powerhouse. Nothing really better than that. He's shown in recent years that he can be much more than that. He is not only strong, but he moves very well too. In addition to that, he has a big boot that would make someone with educated feet like Tajiri cry."
[6.0] "Im Ring oberes Mittelmaß, seine Daseinsberechtigung zieht er größtenteils daraus, dass er als Big Man in den Indys eine Ausnahmeerscheinung darstellt."
[5.0] "Zu tollen Brawls ist er in der lage, aber manchmal fehlt mir einfach ein bischen was. In vielen Ligen kommt er zum ring, zerstört eins zwei Wrestler und das wars. Deswegen noch nicht eine so starke wertung obwohl er sicherlich nicht schlecht ist."
[6.0] "Er erinnert mich mit seinem Stil an Kevin Nash, als er noch Diesell war, nur wegen seiner Kluft wirkt er oft nur wie ein Street Fighter. Sein Stil macht zwar dann auch ein Power-House aus ihm, doch das Gesamtpaket stimmt einfach nicht. Vielleicht wenn er sich nochmal irgendwann selbst Neu-Erfindet, dann könnte ich meine Meinung überdenken, doch mehr als 6Punkte kann ich ihm im Moment nicht geben."
[7.0] "solider bist guter Brawler der für mich immer sehr charismatisch rüberkommt. Im Chikararoster natürlich eh auffällig da er einer der wenigen Big Man ist. Seine Kämpfe sind auch immer recht unterhaltsam und ich hoffe das er noch mal zurück zu ROH kommt."
[6.0] "Ich muss gestehen, ich kenne nur seine ROH Matches und vereinzelt auch aus CHIKARA und CZW, aber er workt seine Matches einfach sehr langsam, bringt nicht allzu viel Spannung in das Geschehen und ist vom Wrestling Können auch nicht der größte Bringer. Sein Gimmick bringt er aber umso besser rüber, deshalb von mir einstweilen 6 Punkte."
[7.0] "Gehört gerade bei CHIKARA zu meinen Favs und ist auch ein Big Man der sich im Ring ganz gut bewegen kann. In der Fehde gegen Claudio hat er mich überzeugt und bekommt dadruch 7 Punkt."
[8.0] "Wie gut bringt dieser Mann bitte sein Gimmick rüber? Brodie Lee würde ich es sofort abnehmen, wenn er mir an einer Tankstelle einen Big Boot verpasst, weil ich meine Benzinrechnung nicht zahlen kann."
[7.0] "Seine ersten Matches bei CHIKARA waren schlimm, seit dem Gimmickwechsel gefällt er mir aber immer besser. In der Fehde gegen Claudio Castagnoli hat er gezeigt, dass er zu guten Matches fähig ist."
[8.0] "Diese Mimik ist einfach unbezahlbar. Unglaublich wie mich Brodie alleine mit seinen Gesichtszügen andauernd zum Schmunzeln bringt. Dazu hat er eine beeindruckende Präsenz im Ring und ist passend zu seinem Outfit ein klasse Brawler. Ich sehe ihn sehr gerne."
[6.0] "Update, da der Gimmickwechsel Brodie sehr gut getan hat. Momentan leider nur die Kampfmaschine mit den Lariats und Big Boots und muss sich entsprechend etwas weiterentwickeln, denn sonst kann das Ganze früher ausgelutscht sein als man meint. In den Worten Uli Hoeneß': "Lassen Sie den schön mal unten". Eine Art Kultfaktor hat er aber schon alle Fälle."
