120.04.2024MarkMcMarkington The greatest to ever step inside a ring. Which I am aware is quite the unpopular opinion in the IWC but no one drew more money and interest in wrestling ever. The first true megastar to come out of the business and by far the biggest. But even beyond his drawing power, I find him quite underrated. One of my favorite promos of all time, full of energy and charisma. You compare his promos to someone rather bland like Cody Rhodes and its night and day. Some arent a fan of the cartoony presentation but I love the 80s cheese. Then you have his heel nWo run which is another level entirely. Im not sure anyone else can claim to be the best babyface and best heel of all time other than Hogan. The GOAT.
218.04.2024cheemsie310.0As a wrestler, greatest to ever do it. Creative gimmick, limited moveset in america but had a great moveset in japan, and was fun to watch.

605.04.2024WrestlingStuff10.0I know people judge him for all the personal stuff he did behind the scenes, from politicking his way stepping over people to being a cheater, but deep down, there is no reason to refuse acknowledging his impact on the industry, same deal with Benoit. A flashy hero highlighting his charisma and ability to captivate audiences worldwide, something children were looking for. Hogan's contributions to popularizing professional wrestling and becoming an iconic figure in the sport made sure that storyline did exist, and become something for children too.
704.04.2024IDriveAFordFusion7.0Oh yes, one of the most famous and infamous people in the wrestling industry and I have no clue where to start. Hulk Hogan is quite controversial, some of it for some troubling reasons but it cannot be downplayed that his importance to wrestling is really massive. He really is the reason why wrestling became popular in the first place with his larger than life personality, charisma, 'running wild' character and moments within the industry that made him into what he became and inspired a generation of young people who weren't even sure how they'd like wrestling into huge fans. Hulk wasn't an amazing wrestler in-ring but a lot of it was made up for with the attributes I mentioned before. Chances are, if you walk up to anyone on the street (mostly people who don't watch wrestling but have heard of it and may have watched earlier in life) that is above the age of 40 or around that and ask who their favorite wrestler is, they will probably say Hulk Hogan, I asked my late grandfather back in 2018 what his favorite wrestler was and one of the answers he gave was of course Hulk Hogan. Now while his wrestling attributes and contributions cannot be forgotten, it cannot also be forgotten that he is his own worst enemy, with certain controversies such as the hate-filled rant that was leaked in 2015 and he does have a massive ego, obviously many wrestlers within the industry have an ego so I can't nitpick on Hogan for that entirely. While I appreciate what Hulk Hogan has done for the industry, he cannot be praised completely, every wrestler has their own faults and Hogan certainly does as well.

901.04.2024SebasDiazArgentina10.0Hogan is one of my favorite legends of all time, he sounded very inspiring when he cuts a promo, and even though his level in ring wasn't like the best of all the world, that didn't care because he always knew how to control the people on the arenas even If It was a WrestleMania or a House Show, he helped the wrestling turn into something worldwide with Vince McMahon on the WWF, first It was a big thing on the United States and then something worldwide, that even fans around the world go and watch his old stuff for love of wrestling, because thanks to him and a lot of other legends, they made wrestling a type of entertainment that has grow up to different styles around the world, and that's why I give him 10/10
1030.03.2024Mr Nice Guy8.0
1129.03.2024nmct9.0If you watch Hogan in Japan. Dude can wrestle, he just never "had" to in the US and with US audiences. His adaptability underscores a broader wrestling skillset eclipsed by his iconic American character and audience expectations. Dude really could go if he had to, he was doing flying knees, armbars, technical chain wrestling...etc.
1229.03.2024nweintra19960.0Arguably the biggest example of "they don't know what goes on behind the scenes"; he was one of the most popular superstars in the '80s, as well as the '90s, even going so far as to inspire video game characters like Pulk Hogen, Muscle Power & Bass Armstrong. However, according to Rhyno, he was an alcoholic. But that's not what bothers me the worst; what really bothers me the worst is how he was revealed to be a racist among racists in 2015. As a result, he was removed from WWE 2K16, his DLC got removed from WWE 2K16, & he got fired from WWE & wasn't allowed to come back for 3 years. He brought it upon himself & he can sleep in it. Fans hated him so much to the point where he was booed at a WrestleMania at one point, like the fallen angel he is. 0.0 points. He drank the cool aid of political incorrectness, like too many people do.
1328.03.2024Kerplin8.0
1426.03.2024Pigeon Scratch4.0I can't deny that he is one of, if not the most important wrestler in the WWE history. He is what put the company on the map, helping with the the Rock n' Wrestling Connection of the early 80s, making WrestleMania a big deal, having some legendary matches between people like Andre the Giant and Macho Man Randy Savage, hell he even made The Ultimate Warrior actually look decent for once. He's also very important in WCW history, adding such a massive name into the NWO storyline for instance. He was overly charismatic, had a great image, and if it wasn't for Hulk Hogan, wrestling wouldn't be as popular as he is now. But... that's kind of where it ends for me in terms of the positives. For starters, he wasn't that good of a wrestler. Granted, he wasn't bad. He can put on a good match depending on the wrestler he is fighting with, and if he was wrestling in Japan he did put in a little more effort. But overall, he was more known for putting on some bad matches unless said opponent was a good ring general, or there was enough smokes and mirrors to make him specifically look good. Secondly, he is the prime example of a politician behind the scenes, ruining so many main events and pushes for other wrestlers, constant burials and fucking over anyone that rubs him the wrong way. "That doesn't work for me brother, " is a popular saying in the wrestling community for a reason, because that's quite literally what he did. He also loved to fill the roster full of his best friends and associates that frankly no one wanted to see, especially in WCW and TNA. The latter is a special example, because his power in TNA almost effectively killed the promotion. He's also a massive liar. I can't even begin to showcase all the examples of the times he has lied. Good examples include saying he only ever used his creative powers during the dreadful Bash at the Beach 2000 debacle, which is obvious bullshit, as well as saying the Undertaker injured him by spiking him with a piledriver, which is also bullshit. And of course, the steroid scandal. Kind of hard to lie about how often you take steroids in a live interview when the evidence is as clear as day. Then there is all the small lies that he has said, like saying he hanged out with certain people or that certain people were hulkamaniacs even though they were dead before Hulkamania became a big thing, or saying he worked more days in a year than there is in a year with the excuse that he would have to fly to Japan so often. It's pretty much impossible to take anything he says legitimately. And of course, there is the real scummy shit outside of the ring. Biggest example was him saying racist shit during that sex tape that everyone knows, and then excusing it saying he didn't know he was being filmed and that he used to say that all the time in the neighborhood when he was a kid. Another big example was him helping with union busting in the 80s. And then there is all the allegations that have never been fully proven, which I won't get into here. These days, he just feels like a massive leech that WWE is more than willing to have him suck on them simply because his name still gets him money, despite his reputation. Important wrestling figure, but one of my least favorite.
1524.03.2024Tragiic0.0One of the biggest draws in wrestling history and did help bring some further mainstream attention to wrestling as the face of WWF and arguably even helped to push WCW beyond the WWF for a few years. However, this is just about where the good things about him end. He has, for pretty much the whole of his career, been a cancer to the industry. His politicking has ruined so many wrestler careers and pushes and also created what I think is one of the worst reign of terrors of all time, just for the sake of holding world titles when he really did not need to, especially as his in-ring skills weren't anything great anyway; in New Japan he was probably average, everywhere else, one of the worse wrestlers on the roster. Also, outside of the ring, a massive racist and pathological liar; very few redeeming qualities as a whole.

1823.03.2024MattHall5.0Coming back for a re-edit. I'll be honest here, Hulk Hogan was never really interesting to me. Like yes, he did establish pro-wrestling to what it is today, but I just don't find him all that interesting in my opinion. I think guys like Triple H, Undertaker, Bret Hart, Randy Savage, Brock Lesnar, Owen Hart, and Shawn Michaels were more interesting than Hogan. Hell I think John Cena was the better mega superstar than Hulk Hogan. At least John Cena gave better matches during the tail end of his career than Hogan's entire WCW career. John Cena had more colorful attires than Hogan as well. I don't think the Hulkster is the worst wrestler, I just don't find him that interesting.
1923.03.2024MasteroftheMatchGuide994.0Hulk Hogan was 1 of the guys who did everything good and bad. Like Cody, Punk, and Jeff Hardy, I put him low in rating because of his OTHER behavior. Not only did he ruin Bret's Wrestlemania IX ultimate triumph, but he also somehow politicked his way to being a mainstay in TNA when he was nowhere near well enough to service a match and also forced Dixie to inadvertently hand the keys to him and Bischoff and then ran the formerly #2 promotion into the ground. Not to mention, signing his buddies to actual contracts and hiring Bubba the Love Sponge as a critic more than anything else, which led to Awesome Kong getting fired after he made a snide remark about Haiti when she was assisting in the relief efforts. Then, he made racist remarks, which led to him being removed from WWE's Hall of Fame, and gave a half-ass apology to the locker room that only convinced half of them, while others didn't trust it at all since he knew what he was saying and knew the word he used was offensive. Hogan may have seemed to be bullet-proof, but even with all his skill and charisma, his constant mistakes that made somebody else look bad made him go form hero to headache.
2015.03.2024MikeHoncho9.0Gonna go with a 9 for the Hulkster. Definitely seems like a sketchy dude personally, but Im rating him as a wrestler. You cant deny his charisma and star power. To this day, he still may be the most recognizable wrestler to a mainstream audience. He could work a little bit when he wanted to as well. You just cant teach the crowd reactions he got. He was a major factor in both the golden era of WWF and the attitude era on the WCW side when he was the third man. If he was a little better worker, or possibly just less of a l liar, he would be a 10.
2112.03.2024Davide8.0
2212.03.2024ultravioletshiroi5.0He sucked and he constantly refused to put talent over, and he always looked 70 years old. People put him on their mt. rushmore of wrestlers but the real reason is they have rose tinted glasses cause of nostalgia. What Hogan had were two things, charisma is one, and the other is his ability electrify the crowd similar to the Rock. He had some good matches in Japan where he showed a more diverse movset, so I don't have a bias against Hogan cause I know he was not that bad of a wrestler. He was just incredibly overrated and has a lame finisher. He was born in the right time and had the right opportunity to capitalize on.
2311.03.2024BadMansion8.0
2407.03.2024mizzysha4.0Hogan, to me, was always a watered down version of Randy Savage. That said, he's got a pretty entertaining personality and was integral to the execution of some essential angles. On the flip side, he ruined a lot of initially excellent angles with his inflated ego and for every critical match he was a part of he produced four or five absolutely atrocious ones. A wrestling icon to be certain, but it has a lot more to do with his drawing power than his actual talent. I think the good he's done for the industry very SLIGHTLY outweighs the bad, but anyone acting like Hogan was some once in a lifetime wrestling figure is gravely mistaken. I'm tempted to rate him even lower for all the bullshit he's been a part of in and outside the ring but I'll be nice. If for no other reason, I'm glad he exists because all of my favorite promos involve Flair shouting ''HOGAN! '' at the top of his lungs. Seriously though, Hogan was truly garbage no matter which way you slice it except for mic skills and progressing stories.

2606.03.2024TayKZY4.0Hogan's final WWE run and TNA run was all I really saw live. I've visited some of his classic moments, but without the nostalgia behind it they just don't really hold up great. All Hogan matches are a lot of smoke and mirrors without much substance. The childhood love is a requirement for him.

2804.03.2024Dirty Diego10.0Apart from stone cold hulk hogan was the biggest draw the Buisness had ever seen , some people say me made wrestling mainstream, he definitely made it grow to heights never seen before, , he played the game better than anyone ever , he was larger than life and kids who mainly watch wrestling viewed him as a superhero, he dominated the 80, s , even though ric flair was my favourite of that era and helped wcw with Nash and Hall nearly put the wwf out of Buisness with his heel persona creating the nwo he turned heel at the right time and stayed on top, say what you want about his in ring work thats 1 dimemension of what pro wrestling is about, and speaking of his in ring work Ive seen him work in Japan and he could wrestle but when became larger than life he didnt need to
2929.02.2024Rainmakerwrestlinhfand5.0
3023.02.2024mxkami2.0The first wrestling I ever saw on TV, was Scott Hall's "shoot" promo when he invaded Nitro. Hooked me immediately. I say that, because it led to Hogan joining The Outsiders and forming the nWo. I was LITERALLY seeing my first wrestling in that moment. And I've always thought Hulk sucked. I have been watching wrestling across all brands, continents, promotions, and styles for 28 years now. "Hulk has given so much to this business" is the funniest s*** that I think I've ever seen on the internet. He can't wrestle, his offense looks weak as hell, he always got blown up, his matches were always the same, his promos are f****** insane and fever dream inducing, and I am sorry, but this man is so much more a politician backstage than someone like HBK could ever hope to be. He ruined WCW. He ruined TNA when Dixie brought him in, which was completely unnecessary. He's booed on WWE programming when he shows up (yes, he is; don't even try the "piped in" argument). If you were the generation of fans before me, good for you for liking what you like. But Hogan is one of wrestling's *notable pricks*, incredibly tone deaf, and takes entirely too much credit from people who truly deserve it.
3122.02.2024SJ Miller When evaluating a wrestler, I think it's important to consider the overall package, not just athletic technique. Hogan was limited in the ring even when compared with many '80s contemporaries but the fact is, he knew what he could do and had audiences paying to see it in record numbers. Vince McMahon's national expansion happened primarily because of him being the main attraction, the nWo would have been nowhere near as big without him. The promos also weren't the most varied linguistic delights but again, he knew what the audience wanted and gave it to them. In terms of being able to interact with a crowd, giving the right glance or facial expression at exactly the right moment, I honestly don't think there has ever been better. Wrestling is ultimately about the box office and Hulk had plenty of blockbusters.
3220.02.2024jasonkl24 Hulk Hogan would be on any wrestlers Mount Rushmore. he is a clear 10. its tough for the younger generation who did not grow up in the 80s to appreciate just how huge and important Hogan was to pro wrestling. Everything in wrestling began to change in the 80s, there were no super cards like Wrestlemania prior. Vince changed the game, and he needed a hero to do so- Hogan was that hero. The main point of wrestling is who can draw the largest crowds- and that was definitely Hogan. He was the biggest star in the WWF for nearly 10 straight years, then led the boom of WCW with the NWO. His matches were all repetitive, but that was what sold. He had more skills than he displayed as can be seen in his matches from Japan, but similar to Andre the Giant the WWF kept his matches more simple to tell their story. Without Hogan, wrestling might be a completely different place. Wrestlemania might not have happened, or if it did it might have bombed.

3416.02.2024Andrewtaker666 Considering what an impact he's made for Pro Wrestling it really is a 10 out of 10. Inoki, Misawa and Kobashi together can't compare in popularity and impact to Hulk Hogan.

3901.02.2024KEI5.0Hulk Hogan is one of the most famous wrestlers in the world. The most popular wrestler of the 80s in the United States. However, as a performer in the ring he was pretty bad even for the time, during Hogan's time there were already some incredible matches going on, mostly in Japan. I give him a 5 out of 10 for his impact on the industry and popularization of pro wrestling in the world.

4417.01.2024ISimon19126.0Hulk Hogan has to be the hardest personality to evaluate in the entire industry thanks to the man behind the vitamins and prayers, Terry Bollea is a trash person and a backstage cancer. But analyzing the character alone, I believe that Hogan (followed by SCSA) is the greatest WWE/F superstar in history, it is undeniable that in addition to defining an entire generation, he was the biggest name in the popularization of wrestling during the 80's, in the ring it has always been a Super limited performer, doing the same performance every fight, but the immense charisma and audience appeal transforms a bad match into something that entertains those watching
4517.01.2024BruceMarcos5243.0WWE likes to overhype and force-fed guys like Hogan. There is no question that Hogan made wrestling popular, I give him that. But in terms of in-ring, he terribly sucked. All of his matches of his career are just a bunch of punches, hulking up and leg drop, that's it. Promo-wise, it's just the same basic generic crap that ends with this terrible catchphrase "WHAT YOU GONNA DO BROTHER? ". Also, he is a politician backstage, refuse to put over talents and I mean guys who are more talented than he ever wished. Hogan is terrible, he's got there for the looks and charisma, that's it. And people say that he is the "Michael Jordan" of wrestling, LMAO. Well, WWE bamboozled a lot of fans thinking that Hogan is the best. Yeah, you think he is cool when you were a kid. But as you grow up, you realize that he is just simply terrible. Mr. Overrated, Mr. No-sell, Mr. Ego, you named it. Glad that the aspect of pro-wrestling nowadays have changed, and they are more focused on talent than looks. But I will never forgive WWE for making Hogan shove down our throats and believing that he is some sort of a god in wrestling.

Sometimes entertaining, and an ok wrestler when he wanted to be but man does he lay claim to some of the stinkiest moments in wrestling. If you could smell words, Real American would be chili fart Reaganism. The fireball botch, finger poke of doom, endless 90s run ins, to say nothing of the crap he pulled backstage. Snitching on Ventura's union push should have landed him in jail. Shawn Michaels did us all a favour making him look like a joke.

5224.12.2023kewf19888.0Hulk Hogan was probably THE reason why pro wrestling got so popular in the US to begin with so he deserves a high rating for that alone. However, in WCW, his match quality began to decline drastically, as he was in his 40s when he debuted in WCW, and while the NWO made WCW the number one promotion for two years, his match quality declined dramatically from when he and Warrior had a good match at Summerslam 1990, so this gave WCW a long stretch of poor main events, which didn't happen in the early 90s when Sting, Flair, Vader, and Rick Rude were on top of the card.

5615.12.2023Jaedynr57.0just so everyone knows, i'm rating hulk hogan here, not terry bollea, if it was terry i was ranking he'd be a 0 or a 1, but hogan the character is a very up and down thing, he was a great character and actually a damn solid worker who just wasn't able to be the worker that he wanted to be, but wwf's decision to have him work basic and smarter helped his career last longer, however if he got to use the axe bomber in america that would let him last a little longer, overall i respect hogan the character, and you should def watch his japan stuff
5714.12.2023TheDeity10.0You can dislike him for his real-life views or politicking, but there is no denying that Hulk Hogan is one of the most influential wrestlers ever. He was insanely charismatic and his promos were great for setting up feuds to engage the casual audience. Similarly, he didn't need to do many flips or other workrate stuff since his basic formula was enough to get the crowd wild. Hulk Hogan worked smarter, not harder to be the icon he was for this industry.
5811.12.2023Gold Fists8.0Hulk Hogan may be the most difficult person for me to rate. Just a warning; I am not rating Terry Bollea, I'm rating Hulk Hogan, so therefore I'm not gonna base this rating off of his racist comments. He's one of the first wrestlers I really ever heard about, and his influence on the industry is impossible to deny. However, he wasn't exactly the most flashy wrestler and didn't really have great matches consistently. He had charisma of course, but when he got backstage, that couldn't have been any different. Wielded the golden shovel responsible for the burials of countless opponents. Hell, he even buried Randy Orton at the age of 53! It's a miracle he managed to recover from that. Basically, Hulk Hogan should be right in the middle of the scale, but he's so recognizable and charismatic that he's barely leaning towards the good side. EDIT: Recently watched some of his work in Japan, damn he can actually go in the ring. I'm bumping him up two points.

6103.12.2023danzitorock7.0Hogan is one of the most famous and recognizable figures in wrestling history and was directly involved on the popularity boom of pro-wrestling. He was involved on several iconic feuds and have a large significance in the business, making people to know him and acknowledge wrestling in and outside the US. His rebirth as a prominent figure of the business in WCW was very important and made the company the undisputed #1 for nearly two years. His ring skills are limited and I think he was lazy for sometimes, especially when you watch some better performances by him in Japan, and he was obviously pushed and overbooked a lot in his career. Overall I think he's an important figure and maybe the biggest draw of wrestling history but undeserved recipient of a lot of opportunities and very controversial person.

6719.11.2023JediSaiyanMaster120310.0I feel I should bring this up, my ratings and comments are only focused on the wrestler and not the person behind the character, hence why I never mention who these people are like in real life (at least if they're bad people). Now that I got that out of the way, let's get into my reasoning. Love him or hate him, Hulk Hogan's contributions to professional wrestling can't be denied. Where there better wrestlers and promos than the Hulkster? Sure. But when it comes down to it, no one brought more people into wrestling quite like Hulk Hogan, with the only cases you can argue are Steve Austin and The Rock. Hulk Hogan was, arguably, the most over babyface in the 1980s in WWF, he was also over in AWA before he became a "sports entertainer." Hulk Hogan wasn't the best wrestler, but he's shown in Japan that he can actually lock up, he mostly stuck to his limited offense because that's how the WWF style was and how the paying audience liked it, so Hulk Hogan was a great worker in that essence, being able to get so much with so little. While some of his matches haven't held up, he still has his fair share of classics that are still great or at least worth watching. Hulk Hogan even went on to be, arguably, the biggest heel in the 1990s when he joined with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall in the nWo faction, a move that saved his career and help get wrestling back on the map. Hulk Hogan was so over, when he returned to WWE after his days in WCW, the WWE were forced to turn him babyface and became a god in WWE during the early 2000s, being one of the rare cases of a nostalgia act going over well. Overall, while he has a complicated legacy, we all know, deep down, that he's a legend and in some way is why we all love this industry to begin with.

6907.11.2023skyesversion0.0Look, I completely understand the contributions he made to the wrestling business back then. But he is still a horrible person and should be held accountable for his actions. Just because you're famous doesn't mean you have the right to be a racist. He's gotten away with so much crap thanks to Vince that it's absolutely ridiculous. I might be young but I've seen a handful of Hogan matches and they're all absolutely horrible. How this no-talent jerk got pushed to the moon is beyond me. Not to mention that WWE keeps bringing him back for some reason. Like no one cares about him anymore. He's so irrelevant. To the people who gave him a rating higher than a 0, are you okay? Like there's no way. Yeah, yeah, he made wrestling famous or whatnot. But he also ruined it. He just makes me sick.

He was THE face of wrestling, and still is to many non-wrestling fans with surface level knowledge. His match with Andre on The Main Event still holds the TV wrestling viewership record, with 33 million viewers. Go compare that to last weeks WWE/AEW viewership numbers. That number is mindblowing and will never be seen again. He helped bring wrestling into the mainstream is what he did! He was a great American wrestler! And in this house Hulk Hogan is a hero! His in-ring work was basic, but he knew how to put on a show when it mattered most. A decade ago I likely would have overlooked his shortcomings and given him a 9 or 10, but after learning more about his politicking ways, it's hard to ignore the negatives.
8325.09.2023andytuga869.0Hogan embodies what Pro Wrestling is all about: passion, charisma and the ability to generate love or hate among fans. Take a look at the standing ovation he got in the WWE Hall of Fame 2005, if you have any doubts about Hogan's legacy. Technically not the best wrester, but he could work for real, especially when he was in Japan.

8819.09.2023DangoDaisuki4.0Hulk Hogan zu bewerten ist sehr schwierig, als Kult Ikone des Wrestling müsste er 10 Punkte haben, als Person wäre er für mich komplett eine 0. Also bewerte ich ihn hauptsächlich vom Wrestling her. Seine Matches waren eigentlich alle nicht besonders gut und auch für damals, nein es gab immer schon so viele bessere als ihn. Aber er war jetzt auch nicht komplett furchtbar.

9014.09.2023Divus Rolexus5.0Maybe one of the toughest wrestlers to rate. I'm not rating the human being, just his wrestling career. On one hand, Hogan has huge charisma and without him, american wrestling wouldn't have known its boom in the 80's. But on the other hand, he is one of the most boring wrestlers I've watched, wrestling the same match week after week with all his opponents. He has also one of the worst Big Boot I've seen. Hogan was also one of the cause of WCW's and TNA's fall by his ability to do politics backstage. Overall, he's a paradox. He's the most recognisable american wrestler in history however he's, once you've become a wrestling fan, a hard to rate guy.

9209.09.2023Mike Ehrmantraut5.0An absolute star in the 80s and 90s, the person who made wrestling famous, his charisma was able to glow every crowd, main character of the best turn heel ever... but also a peerless ass***e behind the curtain and a disaster inside the ring. So, the rating is medium.
9330.08.2023CurlyHairMetalPunk7.0Hulk Hogan is absolutely incredible when he has a microphone in his face and he looked incredible with those twenty-four inch pythons, brotha, but unfortunately his wrestling ability has never quite been his best attribute. On another note, watch Hogan in Japan has become the new watch insert wrestler in ROH. A match in Japan where Hogan changed it up a few times does not suddenly remedy the laundry list of boring to bad matches in what was considered his prime in the WWE. The idea of Hulkamania is tremendous, but actually having to watch a Hulk Hogan match from the Golden Era of the WWE has undoubtedly aged like milk.

9620.08.2023WhatIsLooveee9.0Hulk Hogan was not an outstanding wrestler in the States (although he showed good technical matches during his runs in Japan), but he did not need it, because he had incredible charisma and was the face of an entire era. Hogan is a unique case when a wrestler is amazing both as a favorite of the public and as a hated villain. Perhaps he is still one of the most famous and recognizable wrestlers, and even though he had a number of failed matches and storylines during his long career, and legends are made up about his ego, it is still difficult to imagine the development of wrestling without his figure.
9716.08.2023BigPoppaSmurf9.0Love him or hate him, there would be no wrestling business today as we know it without Hulk Hogan in the 1980s. I think some folks don't appreciate just how popular he was. He was bigger than the WWF. He was Americana. And he could work. Some down-vote his wrestling ability, but in reality Hogan knew exactly how to get a reaction from the audience. He knew what to do and when to do it. And he had longevity. He was the biggest babyface of all time, and then became one of the biggest heels of all time as Hollywood Hogan. Hogan was captivating, and he got people emotionally invested, and that is as the end of the day what pro wrestling is all about.
9910.08.2023MorbidAxis2.0Hulk Hogan is far and away, without any shadow of a doubt, not up for discussion, the most overrated entity in the history of the entire world. He was bigger than life, and still is in some respects. People flocked to watch him wrestle. He represented more than just a brand of wrestling. He was a god in many ways to those who paid good money to see him perform. I, for the life of me, cannot figure out why. His move set was beyond limited, he was stiff as all hell in pretty much every match he ever participated in, and his finisher...the finisher for the biggest Superstar in wrestling history...was a leg drop. Yeah, I honestly try to avoid watching him compete at all times and will generally make sure I have something else to keep my attention if I'm ever watching an event that he happens to be a part of.
10008.08.2023thomkennedy10.0Hogan in his prime is untouchable. One of the greatest babyfaces of all time who had a terrific rebirth as a cool heel. Hogan transcends wrestling, he is iconic in a way arguably no other wrestler in the US has ever been. He's up there with El Santo in terms of cultural significance. All that and he was probably a better wrestler than your fave. He might be a nasty old racist, a hotdogger, and a shameless politicker you can't deny he had CHARISMA!
