30916.10.2019DanTalksRasslin9.0After a few false starts as Isaac Yankem and the fake Diesel, Glen Jacobs hit the gimmick lottery when cast as the Undertaker's lost brother Kane. Kane cut a frightening presence and it was a compelling storyline as he first battled and eventually teamed with his "brother. " As the years went on, Kane's character development wasn't always consistent, but he was always a good worker and a perpetual presence in the upper midcard ranks who could occasionally bump up to main event status if the situation arose. As his career winds down it's certain that Kane will be remembered as one of WWE's major figures from the Attitude Era through the first two decades of the 21st century, and is a likely future Hall of Fame candidate.

31103.09.2019Wrestlefan209.0Kane's been pretty underappreciated during his whole career. His in-ring skills may not be the best, but considering people his size have a hard time doing the things he does, you have to cut him some slack. He can also cut a pretty good promo given the chance. He's been put in many bad storylines, but tried to make the best of it. Overall, I'd say he is one of the better big men in WWE and probably the most flexible performer in the company. A shame he was never given an extensive championship reign in his prime.

31501.08.2019KyleEnjoysWrestling7.0I never really got on the Kane bandwagon. Even back in his early days when he was meant to be at his most badass, I just never felt invested on the character. I actually think I liked him most when he was feuding with Shane. I do see a lot of his upsides, but I genuinely find him to be rather overrated.

33627.11.2018The Stott One8.0A very solid performer and a mainstay in the WWE for a while, Kane always seems to be hanging around. He's had a lot of good performances over the years, though nothing amazing except his feud with his brother. I hope he gets at least one more heel run in the WWE.

34303.09.2018TheBrainlessRobot5.0Hes fine on the mic and hes fine in the ring. He is very average. He has a cool look for his character but other than that I see no appeal.
34502.09.2018Hazem5.0Name a good Kane singles match, I dare you to think of one because I know you will not find one. The few great matches Kane had were all triple-threats, Tag-Team matches, etc.. Plus, his character became super dull once his took off the mask if you exclude the stuff with Daniel Bryan. And the fact that he recently was made to look good against younger talent like Rollins, Reigns, Balor, Strowman and Ambrose is just BAD. Sure he had great presence and a great character in the attitude era but that? s about it. At least he is the mayor now and we hopefull won? t see him as much.

34724.08.2018zephyr4.0Very scary guy but honestly should have retired from in-ring action several years ago (ideally after his tag team with Bryan) because these days he's just awful to watch. Also does that weird thing where he bumps in very obviously safe ways to protect his knees. I'm all for safe work in the ring but if you're doing what Kane does maybe pick a different career.

35419.04.2018Devitciiu6.0Looking at Kane's career in its entirety, there are not as many highs as lows. There were some spectacular points where storyline lead to incredible moments but those moments were only blips on a rather lengthy career. Also, he was fake Diesel.

36017.03.2018ohnoes3.0Kane has had perhaps one of the best debuts for any wrestler in history, and in the brief two or so years that followed, he was booked excellently as this terrifying, unstoppable monster that could stand side to side with the likes of the Undertaker. The turning point for me, however, was when he was booked with X-Pac. At the time, it was an interesting dynamic between two entirely different characters, but when the relationship triangle with Tori happened, Kane essentially became cemented as a joke for me from that point on. That was about 18 years ago, and since then Kane has been a part of some of the most embarrassing storylines that wrestling has to offer. He has basically served as an outlet for Vince to explore the weirdest and craziest ideas that come to his head. And, at 50 years old, he's still an active wrestler. I've been so incredibly tired of him and his character for so long that I try to avoid watching him whenever possible. His wrestling never did a thing for me either. Sure, the stuff with Team Hell No was amusing for a time, but that doesn't change how deflating everything else has been with him.

36831.01.2018CHN3258.01990's Kane was one of the best characters of the era, and while the character has been up and down over the years, there is no doubt Kane goes down as one of the best big men of all time. Not quite the Undertaker, but in the same vein.

37327.12.2017koolgirl6.0There's a lot to consider when trying to assign a rating to the career of Kane (I'll disregard Fake Diesel and Isaac Yankem). One of the attitude era's hottest stars, he did great things with X-Pac and Undertaker (though they went to the well with the latter a few too many times). He was a character-value guy, rarely if ever delivering a great singles match but through good storytelling and unspoken charisma got over huge during the boom period. Now it is depressing to see the crowd go mild for somebody they used to go apeshit over and I see literally no use in him in the current day. Someone he's compared to a lot is Big Show, for their similar longevity with the company as monsters, but while Big Show struggled to get over at times and eventually gets respected as a legend and still arguably has some worth in the modern day, Kane's spark just seems to continue to peter out. Post-attitude era he's rarely been in anything worth recommending - matches or angles, and has done some company lows with Katie Vick and impregnating Lita via rape (only to turn face, obviously). I would say since about 2002/03 his only real career high came with Daniel Bryan in Team Hell No where the two had great segments and chemistry. He was decent for a while post-unmasking but when he became just another upper-midcard guy some of the aforementioned bullshit creative came up with for him was really hard to stomach. Corporate Kane was okay but again it was depressing to see the attitude era's monster in that position. Overall, he generally has average to bad matches, mediocre passionless mic work (the voice box era was strongest for him in that regard) and completely unlike his kayfabe brother has totally lost basically all of his mystique, it doesn't matter how many times he unmasks and remasks (he's had some terrible masks in recent memory by the way) his only use now is for the nostalgia pop, and even then it's with worse music and a worse mask so who really cares?
37410.11.2017Dragon Fighter6.0Kane is actually hard to rate. Long, huge legacy like undertaker has. His character was quite great. And there is no deny about his loyalty to wwe. The problem here with me is that i was never blown away by his in ring work. He was pretty dull to me. I never see a great match from him and only count several good matches. I respect him for his longevity. He is never my favorite, i am not a massive kane mark and i don't shout "Oh, he is so underrated blah blah". I give him 6 tbh.

38002.10.2017The Big Blue Machine7.0Now, that's difficult. I love Kane since I was a little boy. But growing up, I saw his flaws, and in recent years he started being too slow and clumsy, rarely having good matches. Indeed, he is very charismatic, had a work rate similar to that of John Cena, and he's one of the best guys in the locker room, so I can't be too harsh on him.

38512.08.2017coolseraz10.0I am a massive Kane mark. He is very safe in the ring, has an awesome gimmick, had the greatest debut of all time and ultimately will go down as one of the most selfless men to ever enter the ring. I sometimes wish he was a bit more selfish because he would have won a few more titles but Kane was happy to give the limelight to other people. This resulted in Kane getting booked in some horrible angles (Katie Vick, May 19, doing the job to his own impostor, feud with Matt Hardy over Lita, acting as the Authority's lackey). Regardless, Kane will go down as one of the best big men in WWE history.

39306.06.2017flashback4.0Sorry, but KANE IS OVERRATED. I will give him some points for longevity, and when he first debuted, with Jim Cornette was leading his direction, he was alright. He was never THAT great though - he wasn't very good in the ring, and some of his big moves looked downright terrible - specifically, the choke slam and the flying clothesline. His character at the time was ok, but I'm not usually a fan of characters that piggy-back off another successful character. Basically over time they completely shit on everything that made his gimmick interesting. He started talking, they humanized him by making Paul Bearer his father, and then, the ultimate - they took off the mask. I know, I sound like a mark here, but the reason that was so bad is because he looks like a GOOF - not a monster. The idea of this guy being a politician now is hilarious. HIL, ARIOUS. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all - actually everyone seems to say that, but I'm calling a spade a spade here - the Kane gimmick was NOT that great. I'd take Isaac Yankem over Kane any day, at least that was funny and original.

40031.03.2017Red Monster10.0Kane!
