Tully was one hell of a heel, his facial expressions and mannerisms once the bell rang made you instantly detest him, severely unlikeable - a total underhanded JERK, and also - rather cowardly*! His smug cocky demeanor in promos made him unlikable to many, but to the same amount - a bit of an antihero since he often backed up what he said with wins (by any means...). His tag team with Arn Anderson is legendary and are inarguably one of the greatest teams of all time. Unfortunately to be what i consider an underachiever; he had the makings of being one of THE all time greats, but falls just short due to personal issues in his youth. 9.25 rounded down. still HIGHLY recommended. *Watch Tully at Survivor Series 88 when he tags in and second guesses an altercation with The Barbarian, cracks me up every time."

Very underrated wrestler for sure. One of the original Four Horseman. Arn Anderson and him were a great tag team and wanted to impress WWE. They won the tag teams belts. Blanchard was fired by the company for failing a drug test which affected his wrestling career. Becoming a born-again Christian helped him change his life."

I've always heard of Tully's legendary work as a young wrestler in his father's territory in Texas. But once he came to the southeast and his matches against Dusty Rhodes, and Magnum TA were amazing! His teaming with Arn Anderson was tag team genius and will forever be remembered in pro wrestling!"

[9.0] "Tully was the heartbeat of the 4horsemen, all the the main horsemen on record saying so! he is the firestarter the instigator, the rest of the 4horsemen at the time was really cool heel's, Tully was a true heel who could get white hot heat, true heat people just hated the super-brat with the heat of a hundred Sun's, the man would just get under your skin, he was a outstanding in-ring worker, bump his ass off could sell sell, very good in ring psychology, very good mat style technical wrestler, if you look up his matches you'll see he handled all the toughest roughest matches of the horsemen, he had great solo and tag career 1st with Gino Hernandez, "The Dynamic Duo" and then with the 4Horsemen Mainly Arn Anderson had fantastic feuds with the Funks Bro, in the southwest and Mid-Atlantic Wahoo McDaniel, Scott Casey, Gino Hernandez, Ricky Steamboat, Manny Fernandez Dusty Rhodes his feud with big dusty is a super underrated feud for both, really gave dusty one of his best feuds, then a other super great feud in Magnum TA and Barry Windham, then The Rock 'n' Roll Express, Road Warriors, Jimmy Garvin & Ron Garvin, Jimmy Garvin & Michael Hayes, Barry Windham & Lex Luger, Lex Luger & Sting, Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane, The Rockers, Demolition, Strike Force, The Hart Foundation"
[2.0] "Garbage. Along with Arn Anderson, one of the main reasons the NWA was so utterly eclipsed by Hulkamania. OK mic skills and not bad as a technician, there was no believability to this character. Flair did his best, but outside of the Road Warriors, the NWA was unwatchable in those days. They kept recycling Blanchard and company, and you'd say to yourself, "Really, this is the best guy they can come up with". Despite a monstrous push in WWE, he and Arn went nowhere. I give him a point for being better than Arn and a point because his father, Joe Blanchard is an icon."
[9.0] "Original Horseman Blanchard was, along with his partners, one of the best technical wrestlers of his day, and introduced us to the concept of the "cool heel. " Perhaps best renowned as a tag specialist, particularly with fellow Horseman Arn Anderson (a team that also crossed over to being a major part of the Heenan Family in WWF), but also had a good amount of singles success, including long runs with the NWA World Television title."

Sein einmaliger Kokainkonsum kann jedoch nicht als Grund für den Niedergang seiner Karriere herangezogen werden. Er könnte heute in der Riege klangvoller Namen stehen, wäre er länger und intersiver am Ball geblieben, so ist er doch nur einer von vielen."
[8.0] "Was habe ich die Horsemen zu meiner Mark Zeit gehasst. Tully hatte einen unglaublich guten Manager neben sich, wobei er diesen eigentlich gar nicht hätte brauchen müssen, da er selbst sehr anständiges Mic Work hatte. Ich erinnere mich gerne an die originale Four Horsemen zurück, da dies der Anfang war, als ich Fan wurde. Wrestlerisch ebenfalls ordentlich und sein Match gegen Magnum TA war wohl eins der brutalsten Cage Matches der 80iger und frühen 90igern. In der WWF zusammen mit Arn Anderson definitiv fehl am Platz hatten zwar starke Matches gegen die Rockers oder die Hart Foundation, aber dies war es dann auch leider schon."
