[2.0] "Boring big guy, WCW and WWF really tried with this guy, and no one cared about him no matter what gimmick he had and who he was in the ring with."
[5.0] "I think Shawn gets an unfairly bad reputation for something I don't know, but I watched his work in WCW and in WWF and he was always entertaining. Sure, he wasn't a great wrestler, but what's the problem in being entertaining and making you smile? Some top guys can't even do that"
[3.0] "Had an okay look, but bad gimmicks and not very exciting in the ring. WCW even tried getting him over by having him beat Mr Freaking Perfect! Which I think just insulted the fans more than anything."
[3.0] "Shawn Stasiak was insanely boring in the ring and also lacked charisma and mic skills. He is a precursor to the many green call-ups from OVW in the Ruthless Aggression era who mainly punched, kicked, and performed restholds."
[5.0] "More than adequate but not quite satisfactory seems perfect for PerfectShawn. He had times when he was entertaining as a comedy character, and he was a decent tag team guy. He also had a good look. He wasn't good but he was a lot better than some, and better than people give him credit for."
[3.0] "Hey look everyone he's some old timer's son and his physical conditioning is OUTSTANDING! Uhm, don't make him wrestle though, just LOOK at him - impressed right? ! Nevermind the general lack of anything it really takes or means to be a great wrestler. Look at him! Second Generation! See!"
[6.0] "I liked some of character work as Planet Stasiak and actually thought he was a solid presence in the ring and I genuinely enjoyed his matches when I was kid. Re-watching some of these matches and segments, he could do some things in the ring but he was inconsistent and could be clumsy. His WCW debut when attacking Curt Hennig for example was a disaster. It's hard to say for sure that he would never have been given a chance in WWE or WCW had it not been for his father, give, his physique and strength. He was able to win titles in WWE and WCW and he worked competitive matches (sometimes even getting the victory) with the likes of Kurt Angle, Curt Hennig, Bam Bam Bigelow, Jerry Lawler and numerous others. I don't think he was as bad as people say and I enjoyed him at the time, which is probably when it counts the most."
[3.0] "Yeah, nah. If 4 = adequate, than he unfortunately is not a 4. Big guy, very good physique, but extremely limited in the ring, and so painfully uninteresting. No charisma, was definitely in the wrong business, as long as it lasted. They gave him a few pushes, it all looked like a waste of time. Maybe he is a fantastic human being, I do not know, but my two criteria - 1) is he believable 2) (even if he is not believable) am I entertained by him - neither of them apply to Shawn Stasiak."
[3.0] "Terrible couldn't wrestle! Had every weird macho gimmicks. Sad that he did not meet his potential. He tired to be like his Dad but could not pull it off. No wonder he only spent a few years in it. Better as a chiropractor"
[2.0] "I honestly could not stand Stasiak for like 95% of his career I found him incredibly dull, uninteresting and overall meh in the ring. Then in 2002 he started doing the Planet Stasiak thing mixed with his slapstick stuff tripping over and stupid stuff like that but it was making me laugh. He was finally in my opinion entertaining then like 6 months later he had asked for his release and was gone. So if you have not seen him before and want to check some stuff out then I recommend some of the stuff right before he retired, It is still not that great just... better than the meh he gave us prior."
[3.0] "Stasiak was a guy who got saddled with a lot of terrible gimmicks, ranging from Meat to being a wrestling klutz. I'd feel bad for him, except I never saw any sign that he was particularly talented, or that he ever would've made it to the big leagues if he hadn't had a famous last name."
[0.0] "Negative infinity cubed to the second power out of 10. A wrestler so forgettable that I wouldn't even know how to spell his last name correctly without having to look it up twice. A completely, unremarkable wrestler would be an understatement."
[3.0] "Possessing the sort of impressive physique and powerhouse style WWE traditionally goes for, somehow Stasiak just couldn't catch a break in that company, in his first run having to wrestle under the name "Meat, " and during his second run being portrayed briefly as a klutz before regressing further to a generic "crazy" gimmick. He did hold the Hardcore Title an impressive 15 times, but those wins came mostly at house shows and totaled less than a day as champion. In between, he had a run in WCW where he fared quite a bit better, being a major part of the Natural Born Thrillers and New Blood stables, holding the Tag Titles twice with Chuck Palumbo as part of the Perfect Event, and being managed by Stacy Keibler. He was still developing as a performer, yes, but I think his WWE gimmicks limited his chances of reaching his potential. Probably would have fared much better in wrestling had WCW not gone out of business."
[4.0] "You have to feel sorry for Shawn Stasiak. Born to a great wrestling pedigree, he made some waves in the dying year of WCW in the tag ranks. Then, WWF took over and everything came crashing down. From being an inconsequential pawn, he then became the resident clumsy putz, on his way to being full-on lunatic "Planet Stasiak". The quality of opportunities offered to him went into a downward spiral of quality from which he never recovered. For shame..."
[1.0] "Stasiak is among the worst wrestlers I have ever seen. No charisma, and no potential. His matches weren't that good. The only thing I like about him, was his "voices" gimmick. He made me laugh just once, and that's why I am being generous."
