210.09.2023Foxmagic378.0One of the weirdest reinventions in a career. Starting in Stampede as a buff but chubby brute, and teaming with Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid, he used to have an athletic style, but was somewhat of a powerhouse. After staying to work with Baba and going to ECW , he made a 180 turn and became a crafty technician, with the World of Sports, Lancashire style influence in him. Good wrestler, very humble according to some people, deserved better.

821.06.2021WrestlingStuff10.0Johnny Smith might not be remembered that much by North American fans, but for japanese and european fans, the man is iconic and did much for the scenes as Dynamite and Davey. He was kind of a chubby version of Davey, but that didn't matter as his agility combined with his abilities made him a surrealistic symbolic wrestler, something that AJPW in the 2000's really needed. Still certainly underrated.

1017.02.2020JEK 19918.0I am very shocked about his rating. He is an great wrestler. Not only was he great in England but he was also excellent in Stampede and Japan. He was very exciting to watch. He teamed with Dynamite Kid and won the All Asia Tag Team titles. He is a four time Stampede British Commonwealth Mid-Heavyweight Champion. He is also in the Canadian Wrestling Hall of Fame.

1511.09.2016thebigmontbowski4.0Johnny was billed on Stampede initially as Davey Boys real life brother. (he wasn't but did hare a similar look and accent) He was over as heel for a bit, and was on the top part of the card on the tv show quite frequently. He was a moderate talent, but copycatting a gimmick really never works and so it did not play out for very long. The story of Johnny has never really come out, but it seems to me (remembering back a long time) he was on one week, gone forever not mentioned the next on Stampede. This happened on occasion if a talent fell out of favour with Stu. I would not say I know what happened, but it was if he never existed one day. *poof*
1606.11.2013Boris The Menace6.0Wasn't as great as Dynamite Kid or Davey Boy, but overall he wasn't that bad in the ring I can't understand how he never made it big in North America.
1719.09.2010Fountain of Misinformation6.0Solider Wrestler, der sowohl als Techniker wie auch später als Powerhouse zu überzeugen wusste und der gerade in Japan oft über sich hinauswuchs.
