[7.0] "Giant Haystacks was not a particularly outstanding performer, especially in the twilight of his career, when he had a number of really bad matches, but he was an outstanding representative of his time, who played a significant role in the development of British wrestling, making a really serious contribution to the history of sport, so I don't think his current rating is close to correct, given his status as an icon in United Kingdom."
[2.0] "Very popular in the UK back in the day, but by the time WCW brought him over to face Hogan, he was already too sick to go through with it and after some horrendous matches against jobbers and almost killing poor Scotty Riggs in the ring on a botch, they quickly jobbed him out to the Giant and he went home and unfortunately died from cancer 2 years later. The little bit I have seen of him, he wasn't very good at all. But his size made him popular across the pond."
[6.0] "Famous for his size and his matches against another British icon Big Daddy. His bulk limited his in-ring ability, but personally I felt that he was a better wrestler than Big Daddy - although admittedly that does not say much."
[8.0] "Actually pretty good attraction and kinda like the British Andre. He wasn't the smoothest in the ring but had a better understanding of the fundamentals than his contemporaries like Big Daddy. His WCW run wasn't bad for a final swansong."

I think only Big Daddy and maybe, just maybe, Kendo Nagasaki were bigger draws than Giant Haystacks on the British circuit. I often find myself wondering how the British scene could produce incredible talents like Adrian Street, Dynamite Kid and Steven Regal when guys like Giant Haystacks were those selling out venues. That amounts to more than something."

[3.0] "He was only great with his size . Other than that not that entertaining. He is remember in England, Stampede and WCW. His career I notice did not last long consecutively. It was like he wrestle every few years."

Mit der Beweglichkeit eines Gabelstaplers stapft dieser Mann durch den Ring, verteilt Backpfeifen, die gekünstelter nicht aussehen könnten & fällt so grazil wie ein Pottwal. Nein, Haystacks war nur eines: eine Kuriosität, eine Attraktion. Aber leider auch eine Zumutung (wrestlerisch gesehen). Aber da wir hier von den 80s & 90s sprechen & dies ohnehin die Dekaden der "Freaks" waren, hat Ruane seine Berechtigung. Man muss es sich ja nicht ansehen..."

Na ja, immerhin trat er gegen beide sowohl Andre the Giant, als auch gegen Big Show an und hat somit die größten Big Men des Business gewrestled. War zusammen mit Big Daddy das Zugpferd in England und hatte dort viele Fans. Gibt ne Vier."
