Slaughter's Cobra Corps. He then jumped around promotions before joining the AWA in the mid-80s, being partnered with Soldat Ustinov as a couple of Evil Russians. He was probably best utilized in the AWA before he jumped to the WWF to team with Nikolai Volkoff as The Bolsheviks once Iron Sheik got fired and Nikolai needed a new partner. He never amounted to much in the WWF, but he was a decent hand, though not known for having great matches. |

Just a big burley body for baby faces to out maneuver, out wit and out class. Played the role perfectly, but also wasn't that remarkable. Smooth enough to work with anyone, but not good enough to bring out anyone's best. Adequate and credible enough. At house shows he was the designated heel tag substitute and maintained employment by that method alone for a nice long time. Also gotta mention his Private Nelson gimmick just never really clicked, it was a wise personal investment to reinvent himself as an evil foreigner. |
