The undisputed highlight however is a ridiculously underrated street fight vs Will Ospreay at the start of the year. I think people overlooked it on paper, but if you haven't seen it please look it up. Kojima has proven his star-making role in NJPW, evidenced by WTL bouts against the likes of Henare and GOK. Don't anticipate he'll have too many more massive singles matches so I'm glad he had the year he did."

He's not exactly Suzuki-tier, but Kojima seamlessly sliding into an important Wrestle Kingdom feud at 50 years old and proceeding to absolutely kill it shows his immense skill. He's charismatic, fun, and consistently a joy to watch. The brightest light of the dad squad."

[9.0] "Kojima is one of those gifts that keeps on giving in terms of match quality. In his prime, he was one hell of a worker, one of the top for sure, with a solid moveset and stiff as hell strikes and one of the nastiest lariats ever. What sets Kojima away from other great workers is that he's also greatly charismatic both in and out of the ring, and could really work the crowd into rooting for him as a babyface, even if his style leaned on heelish actions. Even in other places like ROH or whatnot, this was still the case despite the language barrier, showcasing just how well he can adapt to different atmospheres. Obviously he slowed down a lot in the past decade, but like many, he's compensated for that with strong ring psychology and masterful pacing: the result being that he can still go with the current guys and get a great match out of them. I'd definitely say he's one of the more overlooked guys if only because his in ring peak came during the lagging years of AJPW, because he's easily one of those guys who you'd push as the main title holder in any company. In his prime, he was perhaps one of the best examples of a wrestler having all the tools to make it there. Despite being nearly 50, his tag work is still quite solid, and he's very much over regardless."

He may not be the same incredible wrestler he was back in the 90s, but he has countered part of his decline with his vast in ring experience and he´s still reliable as a tag team specialist (in his latest championship runs with Tencozy was the heart of the team) and his machine gun chops are still as incredible as back in the day"

He has had a very historic career, IWGP HW Champion, Triple Crown champion, NWA Champion, multiple time tag team champion. Even at 47 years old, he is still a tremendous wrestler, he has been throughout his career. A plethora of great matches, Tenryu, Muto, Tanahashi and even recently with Rush and Okada. Great wrestler, great promo, great presence."

[10.0] "By far my favorite Japanese wrestler as of this writing. I never got to see the bulk of Kojima's early career and none of his stuff with All Japan, so for all I know, he could be better than he is now. Starting with Wrestle Kingdom V, I've started to watch his later work with New Japan and he almost never has a bad match, I kid you not. This dude has everything a wrestler should have, skill (with that infamous Strong Style), an intense arsenal of special moves, an impactful finisher, charisma that's over 9, 000, energetic mic work, cool ring gear, and an awesome theme song. I've seen him have clinics with Hiroshi Tanahasi, Kazuchika Okada, and Katsuyori Shibata and his feud with Rob Conway helped to bring some prestige back to the NWA Heavyweight Championship. Wrestling fans often chant "You still got it! " to older wrestlers who could still work. And again, while I don't know for sure because I never seen his early stuff, the chant has to apply to this 46-year-old dynamo."
