Dies hat sich inzwischen zum Glück geändert denn ich habe inzwischen auch viele von Doug Matches abseits TNA gesehen und finde er war einer der besten Britischen Wrestler der Neuzeit. Edit 01.07.2022 im September wird er 50 Jahre alt und ich denke er wird weiter und weiter wrestlen. Vielleicht macht er auch wieder ein bar Jahre Pause. Fit wie eh und je, kräftig. Der gute Doug wird irgendwie nie wirklich alt. |

Unfortunately he was just around at the wrong place (Hogan era TNA) at the wrong time (late 30's by the time he got there) through he'd still have some decent bouts and a nice feud with Angle, he'd never get to the big stages, which wasn't helped by his wear and tear from extensive work in Japan and damage done to his neck in particular limiting him. He'd "retire" in 2018 vs Ogawa but naturally this didn't last, through it seems that outside of a good few dates he did afterwards all up to 2020, he seems to have more or less retired beyond a few bit-pieces here and there. I'd say if he was around today in his prime he'd definitely be a greenlight for NXT and would fit right in there, possibly even as champion. That said, he's very much a workrate guy first and foremost and doesn't really have much mic skill or charisma, and I always found his gimmicks to be very mediocre and shallow, not much to them at all. |
