[9.0] "YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! Throw your hips aside and hands in the air, and run as fast as you can, because here comes the Sharp Dressed Man! I don't think people try to understand the gimmick of Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin, the spoiled rich brat brother of Ron Garvin that oozed charisma with his song, cologne spray, sheedrop vertical brainbuster and valet Precious (there was his cousin Sunshine, but that was fast), in short: somewhat Gino Hernandez if he was from Georgia. Being a Freebird slowed him down a bit, but Michael Hayes needed another loud mouth "brother" since Bam Bam was their big guard brother, and Garvin worked really well with it. Tremendous worker that attracted attention with the right rivals, and was money shot wherever group he was."

[8.0] "Edit/Rewrite: "Whoa whoa whoa, what's a good looking guy like me doing in a place like THIS! ? " I've always been and always will be a Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin fan, hell I even like the Jimmy Jam Freebirds era. Did great stuff in World Class/Dallas and helped elevate the company overall in the early 80's. Super great stuff with David Von Erich & Gentleman Chris Adams. The 4th Fabulous Freebird even way back then. His promo time was often tremendous, hilarious visuals with his long poofy hair flailing wildly during the midst of a tantrum. The whole Sunshine/Precious angle was and is still GREATNESS. I enjoyed all of his work in Crockett and he won bonus points by coming out to "Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top. Babyface Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin with extra busty Precious in final era Crockett is my "jam". The only stuff I didn't like was the angle with Kevin Sullivan *although* the in ring material here was totally fine (the gaga is what sucked). I don't care what anyone says - I liked the Hayes/Garvin tag team of The Fabulous Freebirds, call it a guilty pleasure. Some underrated stuff to be found here; Jimmy Garvin always had a fantastic grasp on pacing and psychology. Jimmy Garvin more often than not would gel very well with almost anyone and while I probably couldn't ever show you a technical classic from him- here's a guy that I genuinely appreciate. PS: sometimes his brain buster looked absolutely devastating."

I never really got the sense that he would kill himself to give the crowd the show of their lives so a 6 rating feels fair. he was a pro earning a paycheck and doing this job they call professional wrestling in a proper manner"

He was a capable worker who talked like a guy who was acting at being a wrestler. Garvin getting the pushes that he did is one of those head scratchers that make no sense at all when looking back."

[0.0] "I have mostly seen his work from the late 80s on so maybe he was actually great at one time, but he is truly horrible in the era I have watched. Incredibly unathletic, rarely willing to bump, peppering his matches with bizarre sayings which seem to have nothing to do with anything, not really good on the mic, and he often turned to cringe worthy tactics to try to elicit a reaction, such as blatant racism or homophobia. Whenever I see his name on an old card, I truly groan. Perhaps if I go back further he would show me something better, but he spent years and years as one of the worst guys in wrestling so I can only give him what I feel is fair."
