[7.0] "Never watched his work in Puerto Rico, but I've heard good things about it and how he's a total legend over there (evidence being his THUNDEROUS pop he received at WWE Backlash 2023), so I'm going off what I've seen in WWF. You can tell by watching his stuff that he was held back, despite he was clearly a good talent, he at least made the most out of what he had, he did have a really good feud with Steve Austin, at least."
[8.0] "An excellent violent brawler, whose intensity rivaled that of AJPW at the time. He immediately jumps out of early W*ING content. Bard: Overall, Savio Vega had a good career as a wrestler. He was successful in both Puerto Rico and the United States, and he won several championships and feuded with some of the biggest names in the business. However, it is difficult to rate his career compared to other wrestlers because there is no objective way to measure success in wrestling."
[9.0] "Complete legend of Puerto Rican wrestling, with more compelling matches in a forty year career than should be possible in an area continuously suffering from such brutal financial instability. Made the most of a WWF run that always had a hard ceiling to leave a fantastic legacy in the US. And he gave us the Dome of Death."
[5.0] "Wasn't going anywhere as Kwang. Once he ditched the mask he became a pretty solid lower mid card baby face. Had great matches with Steve Austin during 96/97."
[9.0] "can't really tell you why Savio's ranking is so low here ebcause he was honestly really good, outside of having to be Kwang, Savio's had a great career, he's a good worker, charismatic, a decent promo, and overall one of the most entertaining and iconic puerto rican wrestlers ever (maybe only being topped by the Colon family)"
[8.0] "Yes! I'm so glad to see Savio Vega get some love recently on here, because the man is a legend in the Puerto Rican wrestling scene and that honestly has to count for something. I also enjoyed his WWF run even though he was criminally underpushed. The key moments that I think of in his WWF run was his strap match against Steve Austin which is so dope, and honestly his whole feud with Austin. Also though it's often shamed, I think Savio Vega did an excellent job turning lemons in lemonaid with his 1995 King of the Ring run. I can't imagine it was a lot of fun putting Mabel over, but he did what he to do and made the big man look good and that's commendable."
[9.0] "Savio was a Jack of all Trades. There wasn't really a whole lot that he COULDN'T do. He could work heel. He could work as a babyface. He could work anywhere on the card, against anyone on the roster, and he'd never let you down. He would always knock it out of the park. He was also someone who along those same lines could test in the ring, elevate the performance of, bring out the best in, or make look good talents that whatever company that he was working for was looking to push. Like for example, he put the first key loss on the careers of The Rock, Triple H, and Stone Cold Steve Austin early in their WWF runs before they went on to be big deals."
[10.0] "One of the best wrestlers all around to have ever come out of the island of Puerto Rico he spe d all of those years in WW f and before that he show what he was made of as TNT in wWC after his time in WWF he broke records as Savio Vega again on the island as Savio with IWA Puerto Rico letting everyone know that when use right he could go with anyone in the business example his feud with Stone Cold Stev Austin."
[7.0] "I found his early career to be a mixed bag, but you could see the promise building as the years progressed. I have such a soft spot for Kwang, since I knew who it was, it was kinda dorky at first but aye - he pulled it off. The secret was his mysticism; they didn't divulge too much thus never made him look overly silly in the process, that and his in ring work ethic. Then came his peak: Savio Vega! In the midst of the WORST era of the WWF, amongst Mantaur's and TL Hopper's alike shined Savio Vega - like a diamond in feces. His gimmick was fantastic! "Puerto Rican guy who is friends with Razor Ramon". Ah, simple and effective, not even a whiff of wrestlecrap! One of the few reasons to watch WWF at the time..By the dawn of the attitude era he was on his way out in a timely fashion (never seemed in the way on the way). Helped catapult Steve Austin to his rightful position as well."
[5.0] "Savio Vega is best known for his career in Puerto Rico, where he became a legend. Outside, he had worse things to do. In WWF, he was at best a mid-carder, he was not remembered for much in the big leagues, but perhaps it was justified. His style included martial arts, but still most of his matches were quite boring. The same situation is now in MLW, although with a discount on age. But before he was just faded and his matches were not very interesting to watch. I think 5 points is the most appropriate rating for him."
[10.0] "Savio Vega was ruined in WWE. They pushed him to hard and to fast plus the Kwang gimmick was pretty stupid, but the Nation of Domination was something different and had a good change for him, then he got kicked out and formed the Los Boricuas which I felt was underrated. Just like we've seen time and time again, WWE waisted a good talent."
[6.0] "Kwang was my first favorite wrestler back when I started watching wrestling. Now I look back, I realize how silly it was. He's a ninja! He breathes fire! But it was cool when you're ten years old."
[6.0] "I know people rag on the 1995 King of the RIng pretty hard, but I actually kind of liked it. Savio being new & having to run the gauntlet & only fell short of the gargantuan Mable at the end told a good story. Savio was always solid in the ring & he worked well as Austin's first real feud. I was not much of a fan of Los Boricuas though. Savio was never a major player in the persona department, so he is largely forgotten."
[6.0] "Savio was a decent worker and talker, and wasn't entirely bad on the mic. He was never a major draw in Puerto Rico, but his run as a promoter, whilst not a major success, was still decent enough."
[10.0] "Savio Vega is a legend in Puerto Rico, he was one of those who filled the coliseums as TNT in World Wrestling Council (WWC). He spent several years in WWE but did not win anything important. Returns to Puerto Rico with IWA and was one of its biggest stars. Now is Owner and President of WWL in Puerto Rico."
[9.0] "One of the most underrated wrestlers of all time. He was phenomenal in his career. Excellent with his signature move, the Spinning Heel Kick. You could say he was one of the best superstars for WWE back in the mid-90's when the company was quite at the time. He only won the Million Dollar Belt which is noting. Too bad WWE did not count him as an Intercontinental champion when he defeated Goldust. I did not like his Kwang gimmick he had. That was the time when wrestling gimmicks were cheesy. He was terrible as heel when he was with Nation of Domination. I did not like him at that time. I don't think he belonged with them. He was superb as a leader for Los Boricuas. What made him a staple in the WWE was his feud with Steve Austin. It was Austin's very first feud in the WWE and they had exciting Caribbean Strap matches. Also that was the only time they had those kind of matches. Unfortunately WWE treated him unfairly. Even his later days with the company he was a mid-carder. He was excellent in Puerto Rico. In my opinion he is the best Puerto Rico wrestler of the 1990's."
