429.01.2024mattwrestleUK7.0A lot of angry people who seem to be picking on Aubrey because she's a woman. She doesn't referee any differently to anyone else but gets picked on specifically. People don't seem to appreciate that she is actually refereeing how you're meant to, and how everyone else does it too. The reason people say she's overreacting or overdoing it is because she happens to be a woman who wears lipstick. That's literally it. And people moan that she had a match, so what? Loads of 'non-wrestlers' have got in the ring over the years, why is Aubrey any different?
524.01.2024cosmik debris0.0She's just so annoying and self-serving. A good ref should not be rated cause you should not be able to notice his presence in matches (excluding specific cases, such as Red Shoes). Aubrey brings all the attention to herself and - kayfabe wise - does not enforce any rule. At times it even feels like she's taking the spot light away from the actual wrestlers, which is just ridiculous, cause she's not even a good character. Her reactions and facial expressions are always so silly and unrealistic and I dont remember ever laughing at anything she did (maybe sometimes you just laugh at her). All of this makes her one of the worst wrestling referees to date. Also the fact they had her wrestle a match is genuinely offensive to anyone who expected aew to take pro-wrestling somewhat more seriously

1014.10.2023MaxMarvelous4.0With time she will get much much better she's still in the early stage of her career let alone being on TV. However, right now the talent is just not there. She's not the worst by any means but there is still a lot of room to improve. as long as she doesn't blunder a huge main event like Nick Patrick did or just disregard somebody being injured or knocked out in the ring and let the match continue she won't be the worst by any means in regards to being a recurring ref on TV.

1326.08.2023chibimatty3.0Aubrey's on-screen character tends to diminish the wrestlers involved in the match. There is a similarity between her and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley in that regard. If it 's part of the character, that's fine; if not, then it's a very small way of going into business for one's self and needs to be checked. Character work is very important, sometimes a referee has to show that they fear certain heels as it plays into the idea that they are out of control
1422.08.2023benh22.0A genuinely terrible referee. Always makes obvious rookie errors like audible calls on camera. Gets herself in the wrong position almost every time which is a skill in itself, and just has no control over tag matches to the point she invariably comes out of the match looking like a complete idiot unless the workers were absolute pros. Seems intent on getting herself over as well which is just incredibly off putting because she has absolutely no relatable qualities that would allow such a thing to happen.

1708.07.2023Loghan Moresco4.0I Think that she can be severely everything a referee is not suposed to be, even putting she on wrestling match is not the right move, she works decent as a referee as an on screen character im not a fan and should not happen.

2217.06.2023CoopyHoncho7.0She's gotten better about mugging for the camera. It's nowhere near the embarrassment of All Out 2019.
2317.06.2023GoldLiger5.0The only time I had a friend that isn't into pro wrestling watch an AEW PPV with me to see how he felt about it, one of the only things that stood out to him on the entire show was Aubrey, and by that I mean he instantly noticed how exaggerated her movements were and how she seemed to play to the camera more than other refs or even some of the wrestlers, and it took him way out of the matches she was involved in. If it's that obvious to a first-time viewer who hasn't even seen all the spots she gets of getting physical with wrestlers or being the one running out after a ref bump, then I think it's too much. Nothing against Aubrey but I genuinely find her to take away from matches she's part of on occasion; she's good at the actual referee part of her role but she doesn't seem to get that the ref should basically blend into the background when they aren't part of a spot or counting the pin.
2416.06.2023Vanstyler10.0Funniest referee in sports entertainment without a doubt. She started out as a random fan of this page and ended up doing what she loves to win our hearts.

2806.06.2023ElmoLikesToSimp3.0It is very annoying that AEW is constantly trying to make Aubrey Edwards into a character instead of a referee. The fact that she is always the "tough, no-nonsense referee" is dumbfounding. It would be a funny spot for her to stop the chickenshit heels if she didn't do it every week. She would be a much better referee (ignoring other flaws about her) if she wasn't a reoccurring character on AEW television.

3231.01.2023No One9.0A powerfully charismatic referee. I like her facial expressions, her body language, her serious tough demeanor, and how she refuses to back down to anyone, her presence is strong in every match that she officiates as well. That is why she is so over with the AEW crowds. Aubrey Edwards is to AEW, what Earl Hebner was to the WWF/WWE, what Tommy Young was to NWA Crockett Mid-Atlantic, what Kyohei Wada was to AJPW, or what today's Red Shoes Umino is to NJPW. That company's most famous referee.

3701.09.2022arrancar3.0When sticking to the bare necessities of what a ref is actually meant to do, Aubrey is good, but AEW's obsession with pushing her as a 'character' is annoying. She's one of those refs whose acting takes away from the matches she's officiating, with her wildly melodramatic expressions, her "loud" gestures and body language, and her CONSTANT desire to force herself into being the centre of attention no matter what the actual wrestlers are doing and no matters where she is in the ring or on the camera, all of which massively detracts from the matches themselves. AEW really overplays the idea of her being 'assertive', 'in control', and 'not to be pushed around by MEAN heels' by constantly having her be so authoritative, to the point that it actively diminishes the heels' auras when they're made to look like dorky weaklings whenever she 'takes charge', and seeing her so immensely confident in response to the heels also makes the moments when the babyfaces confidently stand up to the heels feel far less special and impactful because, hey, the ref already easily stood up to the heel, so it's the least the babyface could do to do the same. The worst thing is that she just doesn't even remotely have the look to play the 'confident and in-control' ref to begin with! If it was a ref with some size/musculature and a 'grizzled' face then *that* would be believable, but Aubrey looks like the most fragile referee I've ever seen that wasn't a lanky teenager reffing for an indie show at a gym of 50 people, and yet she's somehow the head ref for the 2nd largest company in the world? How? I'm totally behind refs getting animated and making themselves 'characters', but ONLY when it's called for, which is in BIG matches and in BIG moments in those big matches, plus only if it doesn't make the wrestlers look stupid or lesser by comparison. Aubrey just isn't fit for her position unless she tones her "character" wayyyyy down.
3824.08.2022coppercowries8.0Aubrey is a tremendous ref, and the current internet hate-boner for this woman is wild. I will agree that on occassion I have felt she is too visible or interferes in the focus of the match. But I also think she has taken that criticism and toned it back down. She has loads of personality and was the first ref I actually knew by name, ever.
4022.07.2022blackmacrokid9.0I think Aubrey is great. She brings her personality into the ring while never letting it take the attention away from the wrestlers. IMO she is currently the 2nd best ref in the world. If you want replaceable refs who all fill the same mold she isn't for you.

4220.06.2022CounterCultureCantCount3.0I always have mixed feelings about Aubrey because she DOES have talent and a real passion for the business... But she really wants to make it about herself. Granted, Bryce Remsburg overacts as well but at least the boys are in on the joke.
4317.06.2022TheDeviantPro3.0One of the worst referees in modern wrestling. She spends majority of the matches that she's in trying take the attention from the action with stupid expressions and with unnecessary overacting. Rather then, oh I don't know, refereeing the match. On top of that like other referees in AEW, she barely enforces the rules.
4430.05.2022Childofthelost5.0
4518.05.2022TSwifty3.0Aubrey has to be one of the most overrated people in modern wrestling who isn't a wrestler. Comes across as very selfish and over the top in the worst way possible. A great referee could play a significant role in building up drama in matches. Red Shoes and Charles Robinson both have an exceptional way of reacting to matches that feels genuine and doesn't come across as phony, comical or melodramatic. That's where Aubrey fails. Some downright horrible facial expressions that are distracting more than anything else. She's been made a focus of from AEW to push her as a strong female authority figure and it's incredibly forced and cringe. The wrestlers and commentators will go to the ends of the earth to push her as a no-nonsense tough girl and it's the exact opposite of how you should present a referee.
4605.05.2022oDeadmanx3.0Finde sie sehr nervig, da sie immer im Mittelpunkt stehen muss. Immer am herumschreien und fuchteln. Wie man so schön im Fußball sagt. Ein guter Schiedsrichter ist ein unauffälliger Schiri. Das ist sie absolut nicht

5407.02.2022WhatIsLooveee5.0Mini-confrontation with Chris Jericho was comical, and I think it would be better if her personality appeared only at such moments when it would look appropriate or funny. Aubrey is a ref who wants to put herself in the foreground, which, I think, should not be the task of the referee.

5617.01.2022Sloppy Sammy7.0Damn i guess either Jim Cornette or an anti-sjw youtuber must have talked about her huh' Harsh reviews for a good ref. She can count to three and can get up and down well enough. Good ref.

5917.12.2021PhenomenalGun3.0I despise how she's tried to turn herself into a character. I'm fine with refs being a character, hell even being involved in the match, Charles Robinson is a fantastic example, but man, she's just not good at it. Everything she does, as some kind of tough chick, it's just cringe. She has a positive connection with the audience, I will say that. Add to the matches with your reactions, but stop making it about you, you're the ref.
6017.11.2021ClickyBicky20004.0Tries to hard to get herself over. Refs are not meant to be noticed in matches but she seemingly goes out of her way to get involved.

7210.03.2021KyleEnjoysWrestling2.0Will do absolutely anything to make herself the star of what she's involved in. A perfect example of "right place, right time. " She came into AEW at the start & obviously quickly found herself in the good graces of those in charge. This has lead to her being pushed hard in the company despite having a very limited knowledge of wrestling. If you've ever listened to the AEW podcast, she makes that abundantly clear there. On that note, her interview style is unbearable & she talks over her guests constantly, adding absolutely nothing all the while. The refs in AEW are the worst refs in all of wrestling & Tony is too chickenshit to try to reign them in. Next to Remsberg, Aubrey is the worst of the bunch.

8112.07.2020Scott Kobayashi4.0Not a fan at all. She actively takes away from matches, (especially ones involving Chris Jericho) and tries to put herself over as this badass. YOU ARE THE REFEREE! I AM NOT HERE TO WATCH AUBREY EDWARDS. As an actual ref, when she is not trying to put herself over, she is fine. A 4.

8526.05.2020Nerfair110.0She's my favorite referee ever! I have no idea why, but she's just so charismatic. The way she sells wat's happening in the matches is perfect.
8610.05.2020TheRealQuote10.0Her mannerisms and character work perfectly add to a match, similar to Red Shoes. I've always been of the belief that as long as a referee isn't making the whole damn performance about themselves then I don't care what they say or do during a match. I understand that some people think she goes too far with it, but I disagree. I think she helps add some personality to the role, and honestly, nothing wrong with that. If the referee is entertaining you and it's not taking away from the other performers, they're doing their jobs.
9120.10.2019VGSO10.0One of my favorite referees, along with Red Shoes Unno. Her character work enhances every match she's involved in, usually by her being unafraid of putting her foot down when the heeling reaches disruptive levels.
9206.09.2019Judas51508.0Future of refereeing, facials and everything is on point. Amazing considering how short she? s been reffing. Aubrey Edwards or Gearl Hebner whatever you wanna call her is dynamite. Sometimes she? s hammed up too much, but thats just the dancer in her. It? s incredulous that WWE didn? t try to keep her after the Mae Young Classic. But I guess they figured it was a good gimmick for the show. WWEs loss is AEWs gain.
