Most of the time they have never even seen much else than few Youtube videos of the wrestler or promotion they are commenting on. Wifebeater is a deathmatch legend in the east coast who came out of nowhere and in short time build himself as one of the most over and loved characters in the Philly/NJ area. To this day the CZW crowd will chant hes name randomly. He had impressive size and had a great look for independent wrestler. He wrestled some classic wars and won two Tournament of Deaths & was really impressive in Japan working for BJW. If you want to see Wifebeater wrestle regular style watch some of hes matches in Japan where they had many normal singles and tag matches. Hes main focus was the deathmatches. (which seems to be hard to understand for some. ) He did some power moves and brawling, but the whole point of hes character was that he was booked to be almost undefeated tough as leather ex-marine hardcore guy who never talked, but rather just let hes actions do the talking. Hes style was very straight forward, stiff, big bumps, high energy and never backing down. He always delivered. I have never seen a boring deathmatch from Wifebeater thus why so high rating as 9. Along with Necro Butcher and Zandig one of the true masters of the American deathmatch style. |
