[2.0] "Nothing compelling to me about his gimmicks, workrate or body of work. He shows no interesting character and doesn't elevate any of his matches in any shape or form. Maybe a gimmick change could've done something, he is admittedly somewhat charismatic but I can't rate based on hypotheticals"
[6.0] "I like Boogs. He has a powerhouse style you don't see too much these days. He's charismatic but a little too goofy which will hold him back. He has the style and physique but needs to have a serious side to be taken more seriously. Dude is entertaining."
[8.0] "Entertainment in a bottle, he is your average frontman for a rock band and everyone hates him for it, in his first match he got over, and now people are insulting him why? He is living it up out there and has actual passion for the buisness and is fine with taking a loss. A rare specimin in the world of self absorbed hicks we have in todays locker rooms."
[1.0] "Obnoxious and annoying. Boog's style of humour is typical WWE crap that appeals to a fourth-grader. His in ring skills are more basic than an 80s preliminary talent."
[6.0] "Was gaining momentum as he got injuried. Was not the biggest fan of his in NXT and his Joe Average thing was alright for the 24/7 scene but he needed something more. His tag team with Nakamura gave him some direction and a chance to show his skills and cover up some weaknesses."
[6.0] "I am surprised by such a low rating. Boogs has everything you need: talent, looks, charisma, skills. He can keep in touch with the audience, he is a born face and showman. He breathed life into Nakamura's entry and their tag team had tremendous potential. It is a pity that he was injured because perhaps he would be the team champion now. For now, I give a slightly understated rating because I think that Rick has not shown all his capabilities yet."
[8.0] "Personally don't get all the hate for Boogs. The crowd loves him, hes got the energy to get a crowd excited and he can do some impressive stuff even if its not much more than being really strong."
[4.0] "A pretty uninspiring body guy who has some charisma. I'm not really impressed. The guitar gimmick has a shelf life and I think he's reached the end. To his credit, he seems to have a pretty solid following on social media."
[7.0] "This dude is fun as fuck to watch, to hell with what anyone else says. When's the last time you can say you saw a strongman/guitarist/showman gimmick?"
[5.0] "Can't say I'm surprised as Vince values entertainment over actual wrestling skill. I don't mind him being a jobber but hes beating established talent and has not paid his dues in the wrestling world."
[3.0] "This guys booking is ridiculous! They slapped him with Nakamura to get Nakamura's entrance more over (including as part of his run as Intercontinental Champion) only to have them do random tag matches every week with Boogs squashing established talent in 2 minutes singlehandedly as the IC Champ lays 'hurt' on the outside WTF? He has a finisher and can 'play' his opponent like a guitar. That's his move-set. If he was beating guys with a ton of moves I would not rate him so harshly. Vince then decided he should look more like Freddy Mercury but to me he looks more like Franco Bash (for anyone that knows that character)."
[8.0] "showman, charismatic, solid in the ring. He has great potential, he totally eclipses Nakamura. I hope he will quickly be an important solo element."
[7.0] "His charisma has been clear since NXT fans called for an encore following a squash match, and his grappling skills have been showing promise as he shows them off more and more."
[6.0] "Has definitely stepped up his pace in the last few months at house shows and EVOLVE events. Could be a solid mid to upper mid-carder with a little more polish and experience. Charisma is undeniable (good crowd connection for sure), in ring work is passable - extremely so by WWE standards. If he stays injury-free, and on the same path, I would expect good things from the Bugez in the future."
[5.0] "Was introduced kind of randomly as Eric Bugenhagen & got over in a sort of surprising way. He seems to have a good amount of charisma & hi's super jacked. But he's doing this air guitar gimmick & I just know that can only carry someone so far. Sure it will work for a while in an intimate setting such as NXT, but if he ever wants to be taken seriously in any meaningful way, he needs to drop that asap."
