"According to many accounts, newspapers from the era, and all abode, he may have very well been the man who first brought popularity to the sport. An unknown legend, but an existing one regardless."

"Greta wrestler 10/10. Drew many crowds and had matches that lasted for an hour and half. Wish they would rate this guy. Sad that he died young."

"From what I have read about Gotch he had the wrestling ability of Ric Flair and the popularity of Hulk Hogan."

"The legend. Despite the lack of any actual footage the man manages to capture the interest of a lot of newer fans just based on the legacy he brought to the sport of wrestling. The feud between him and Hackenschmidt is often talked about by historians. He helped put wrestling on the map but I tend to agree with the notion of not scoring unless you actually saw his work, and I highly doubt anyone here lived back in the early 1900's."

"I would love to hear from those who voted for Gotch. The site requires you saw him wrestler first hand. So how many 120 year old men are on this site exactly."
