[9.0] "Monty Brown possessed so much unique charisma in the sense that he was able to be both intimidating and funny at the same time. His impersonations of The bottom of the food chain always gets a chuckle out of me. He also had the look and power to be a star. He did have some botches, but for the most part looked very competent in the ring and had fun matches. Its a shame TNA never made him world champion. Feel the POOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUNCE PERIOD!"
[8.0] "Enjoyed his TNA run where he was presented as a top star. In WWE ECW he did not stand out as much but was still enjoyable to watch. When he got the opportunity to show it he had good charisma and mic skills and did well in the ring. Unfortunately, things outside the sport made him retire early."
[9.0] "Only 6'! .......this guy is entertaining as hell, highly charismatic, good to great mic skills, and enjoyable fighting style, if he choose not to retire he would be making something special out of his career."
[8.0] "Very unfortunate that Monty Brown (Marcus Cor Von) retired so early. This man was a killer in both TNA and WWE and The Pounce is such a brutal finisher, it's fantastic. Good promos as well and a great character in many aspects. Out of the four guys in the New Breed, Cor Von had the most potential to be a legitimate champion and was a shining star during the WWE reboot of ECW. Have not heard much from him since he retired though, hope he's doing well!"
[6.0] "Monty Brown was a guy who looked like he had it all, but that was mostly because he was very charismatic. His in-ring skills was respectable, but nothing amazing, and when he arrived in TNA there were a lot of guys who could outperform him in that regard. His promo skills were very good, however, and I think with time he could have developed into a big star."
[8.0] "Unbelievably charismatic, enough for multiple wrestlers. Excellent look, and tons of mic skills. Every promo I saw from him in TNA he shined so much and came across like a big deal. Very good power based wrestler, and innovator of The Pounce, which was such a simple yet amazing move to see. Very unfortunate he didn't win the top title in TNA, cause he had every single quality to do so."
[7.0] "Was exciting in TNA. Very strong and agile. He was great at busters, powerslamming and bombs. I think he was a gifted wrestler in my opinion. When he went to WWE he was not used properly. It's too bad he retired so young and had a very short career."
[6.0] "He was one of TNA's original main eventers & he had a lot of fan fare back in his prime. Never my favorite, but his Pounce was a unique finish & the way he hit it was really explosive. I remember WWE trying to get him for a few years, but by the time they finally did, WWE-ECW was just starting & he was sent their to die next to the other New Breed characters."
[6.0] "Monty Brown was a decent hand, who had good charisma, and wasn't that bad on the mic. Brown had tons of potential, but outside distractions meant that that potential would never be realised."

While not a great worker, Brown was good enough as a power man in the ring, and he had tons of charisma and delivered great promos at a time when TNA's roster was largely made up of good workers without a lot of charisma."

[6.0] "One of the greatest lost opportunities in all of wrestling. In TNA, he was a consistent part of the main event picture between 2004 and 2006. He had boatloads of charisma (which made him at once both entertaining and threatening) and the devastating "Pounce" finisher. Plus of course, he was a two time veteran of the Super Bowl. He had all the makings of a mega star, yet just when it seemed like his hard work was about to pay off in TNA... he left for WWE. His name was changed to Marcus Cor Von (losing the celebrity status that came with his football career) and he was left to flounder directionless in WWE's fake ECW before being fired after less than a year. Understandably dejected with the business at this point, he retired and is now a personal trainer and clothing designer in his hometown of Detroit. His in ring career was short, and greatness was just within reach, but he never got it, which is a damn shame because he's one of the most memorable characters to come out of TNA."
[7.0] "With a lots of explosive power as well as a good deal of personality and intensity, Brown was a wrestler who could potentially break through to the main event, and seemed on the verge of doing so several times in TNA. His Pounce finisher also made him one of the very few outside the X-Division to take full advantage of TNA's six-sided ring. After his contract expired he went to WWE and ended up on the ECW brand as Marcus Cor Von, where he never quite caught on (or perhaps WWE was less inclined to give him a full chance since he came from a rival company). Retired while still in his prime; who knows what might have been."
[8.0] "Excellent look, size, athletism, original gimmick, decent finisher and fantastic promos. He was misused by TNA and WWE but he really could have been a main eventer if given the opportunity to develop. Abruptly retired when he still had a few good years left. He entered wrestling at a very advanced age coming from a football background so he was never going to be a great worker, but did a decent enough job of working the power style and could work with guys that will help hide his inexperience. Unfortunately he was phased out of the main event picture once TNA started hiring all the former "big 2" stars. Had a forgettable and short run in ECW as Marcus Cor Von, never really had the chance to get on track."
[7.0] "It's unfortunate that he had to retire, because he had a good deal of star potential. While he wasn't a master in-ring technician, he had good presence, and his matches were fun to watch. But he left wrestling for the right reason."
[10.0] "I haven't seen Monty Brown wrestle or even seen him at all since he got released from WWE in 2007. I hope he's doing good. I hope he's alright. I'm a big fan of his. He is such a ruthless, bad to the bone and very talented wrestler. If I can use his first promo he did on the ECW brand as an example which by the way is not just an example but it is the absolute truth that the hardest regardless is "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown!"

[8.0] "Ich fand ihn immer gut denn er hat im Ring immer solide Leistungen gezeigt für sein Mic-work gilt das selbe. Meiner Meinung nach war es ein Fehler von ihm zur WWE zu gehen denn bei TNA war er besser dran. Schade das er seine Kariere beendet hat."
[6.0] "The Alpha Male ist total in Ordnung. Ist zwar nichts besonderes, aber ich schwanke zwischen 6 und 7 Punkten. Bleibe aber bei 6 da man ihn durchaus auch ersetzen könnte."
[7.0] "Ein richtig guter Powerhouse mit einem sehr guten Körperbau und für einen Powerhouse sehr guten In-Ring Fähigkeiten. In seiner aktive Zeit hat er leider nie einen wichtigen Titel getragen, was ich eher schade finde, da er die Dominanz eines Champions ausstrahlte. Nicht zu vergessen einen genialen Finisher den "POUNCE"!"
[6.0] "Sein Pounce war ziemlich beeindruckend, aber das war es dann auch schon. Der Rest war doch ziemlich unterer Durchschnitt und sein WWE-Run als Marcus Cor Von erbärmlich."

[8.0] "Eine faire Bewertung ist eigtl. von meiner Seite aus nicht wirklich möglich, da ich ihn nur sehr kurz in der ECW kennengelernt habe. Aber sollte er wieder eines Tages zurückkommen, würd ich mich freuen. Was ich gesehen habe gefiel mir einfürsich ziemlich gut."
[6.0] "Guter Power-Wrestler, einzigartige Promos (nicht zwangsläufig gleichbedeutend mit gut), Sport Background. Er bringt vieles, von dem mit, was es zum Durchbruch braucht. Dennoch schaffte er diesen bisher noch nicht, da er bei WWE nur noch ein potentieller Star unter vielen ist. Sein Alter könnte in diese Fall leider gegen ihn sprechen."

[8.0] "Bereits bei TNA hat mir Monty Brown richtig gut gefallen, hätte dort wirklich durchaus mal Champion werden sollen! Entwickelt sich bei der ECW nach und nach, damit er früher oder später bei einem der beiden Hauptroster für Furore sorgen kann! Hat eine Menge an Potenzial, hoffentlich wird man dieses auch ausschöpfen!"
[6.0] "Bin mir bei Brown nicht so sicher, einerseits gutes Mic Work und ausreichendes Charisma, andererseits sind seine In-Ring Skills nicht überragend und er ist auch schon 37... bei TNA hat er aber gezeigt, das er es eigentlich kann. Ich glaube er ist ganz gut aufgehoben, wo er ist, obwohl ich hoffe das er bald ohne Stable nach dem Titel greift."

[4.0] "Spielt seine Sache gut, mag auch am Mic gut sein, ist aber im Ring alles andere als gut. Er sollte es vermeiden sich bei den nächsten Battle Royal Matches selbst zu aus dem Ring zu werfen ... Er ist wohl bald ein großer ECW Star mit sehr viel Charisma und Ausstrahlung, der aber auch schon ziemlich alt ist, kann aber nicht Wrestlen, hoffen wir mal er bessert sich noch."
[6.0] "Vom reinen Auftreten wirkt er wie ein Maineventer weswegen er in seiner jetzigen Stellung als "nur" Mitglied der New Breed irgendwie deplaziert wirkt. Allerdings muss er sich noch erheblich verbessern was das reine Wrestling angeht."
