316.04.2024Larixkh7.0Jake Perry is very good in the ring, that's undeniable. It can be fast, technical and sometimes brutal. He even has the psychology when it comes to it, only the problem has always been outside the ring. Long teamed up with Luchasaurus, he hides his weaknesses with a great duo and a facial aura that you want to support until the end of his rivalry with Christian. Unfortunately with Christian's injury the rivalry was longer than expected which didn't help Jake Perry to go solo but after that without a duet with him, his too smooth side was quickly seen and gave him a bland side while he is still excellent in the ring. That's what I thought until his heel turn, I'm one of the people who loved the way it was done and I loved his heel character in AEW before the problem with Cm Punk. Arrogant and believing himself to be very superior, enhanced by his deliberately pedantic entrance theme, plus his outfit where he was showing off, it was great but we never got to see more because of you know what. On the other hand I must say that I really like his time in NJPW, always arrogant mixed with a character feeling betrayed and put in the position of scapegoat. Obsessed by it, he is more careful to provoke the fans than to win matches because he is too obsessed with his own truth. It works and he gets heel reactions. There is real potential to be explored in the hope that it will not end up going in circles.

513.04.2024Bryan20006.0I have a complicated opinion about Perry, he doesn't seem like such a bad fighter to me, but he doesn't seem like a big deal to me as they try to make him out to be, it seems to me that he has had little improvement in recent years, however, he is still young and is decent at the level. in-ring, Although on the micro it doesn't seem even close to the best to me, maybe his NJPW excursion will help him. It's going to be interesting to see where he goes now, obviously the pop he receives from his controversy with Punk could help him, becoming a great heel, but in my opinion: that pop is going to last a short time and when it passes, Perry simply won't be able to maintain that people's interest in him".

1402.04.2024DENDY6.0I've been enjoying Jack Perry in NJPW recently. I'm not going to comment on the cock-up in AEW last year since it just seemed like a mess on all fronts, but he's clearly a talented dude in ring and on the mic, while only being 26 years old. He's not lighting the world on fire but with him cutting his teeth in Japan now, I see a relatively bright future for Jack Perry. Based on the few solid matches he's already had with the likes of DOUKI, Sanada and RUSH, I'd consider him an above average wrestler worthy of a 6, but I could see this rising soon.

2913.01.2024The Quick Man7.0As much as my inner CM Punk fanboy doesn't admit it, I so badly want to see what Jack Perry will do when he comes back. This rating can be revised to an honorary 10 as long as a) his theme song starts with a Stone Cold-esque glass shatter, and b) he carries CM Punk's dumb "X" championship with him.
3012.01.2024Jamesblue9.0Has a lot of potential. His work on the indies was fun to watch & never used his father to get over. I enjoy his matches & his tag work with Luchasaurus.

3227.12.2023KKeanel6.0Because of good in-ring work and legendary song as a theme his run as a Jungle Boy was pretty entertaining for the fans, but after splitting with Luchasurus his lacks were exposed. Percentage of quality of his mic skill and aura as a heel is close to zero. Also he partially caused exiting of the biggest draw from the company.

3408.12.2023danzitorock6.0Jack Perry is a great ring worker, always provides good matches and have a good moveset, but lacks basically anything else. He's pretty bad in the microphone and have a terrible character work, the guy has no aura at all. He seems to be a bad person too.

4028.11.2023JediSaiyanMaster12036.0Despite Jurassic Express was a very good tag team, Jack Perry hasn't faired out very well as a singles competitor due to having no charisma or mic skills, he's at least has the look of a Hollywood star and can wrestle.

4730.10.2023skyesversion4.0I think that Jack Perry is the worst out of the four pillars. He's mid in-ring, horrible on the mic, and plays a good heel but was way better as a face. I don't see him as championship material at all. Maybe in a couple years he'll be better but right now I don't see the hype.

5118.10.2023HammertonWay8.0I've been a big fan of Jack Perry's work since I first saw him back in 2020, seeing so much potential at such a young age. I think the only thing that we have yet to see is if he can improve on his mic work. I know people weren't that much impressed initially, but I feel with his heel turn he has shown much more personality on the mic. A lot of people at the moment aren't looking at him for his ring work but instead his backstage altercation with CM Punk which lead to his suspension and Punk's firing, which I feel is unfair to the man. I hope that he can turn this around when he eventually comes back to turn himself into a bigger star. Lots of people talk about the four pillars of AEW, and I hope Jack Perry continues to a staple of the company.
5216.10.2023CorpusSkiptotelicum8.0They should call this guy 'the doctor', as his actions finally led to the removal of cancer. On a serious note though, there's been a wave of anti-jack perry sentiment since about last year that I dont quite understand. His run as a traditional babyface did run its course, but he was excellent in that role. A solid allrounder that really could do any type of match and had a good understanding of structure and psychology. Just look at his matches with Omega and Dax Harwood. Before the all in debacle, he was just starting to find his footing as a heel. He just needs time, given his family, he pretty much has a pre built-in hollywood heel gimmick waiting to happen. I also hope he leans into the anti punk stuff when he returns... should make for a fun character.

5728.09.2023Eliciarz5.0Jack Perry doesn't do anything amazing or unusual in the ring that no one else would do, but he's still good at it. However, his ability to speak on a microphone is embarrassing and in this respect he is the weakest of the pillars even Sammy Guevara is better.

5911.09.2023Hazelyze5.0Sort of a "jack of all trades" when it comes to AEW's "four pillars", but not as compelling as Allin or MJF to me. Mic skills are okay, he's good in the ring but not the most interesting character. Much room for improvement. EDIT: his heel run has been meh and his pettiness at All In doesn't help. Knocked him down a few points.

6204.09.2023LMZ202010.0As indifferent as I am to Jack Perry as a performer and a personality, Im giving him a 10 because his innocuous comment about "real glass" was the straw the broke the fragile Camel-Man Punks back....and for that he will forever be a king in my eyes. Fuck CM Punk, good fucking riddance.

6428.08.2023coppercowries7.0Jack Perry is fine, people are over reacting to him like he's some Parker Boudreaux level talent, and that's nonsense. He's not spectacular on the mic, but he's solid in the ring and probably should've stayed in the tag division as he's better serviced in that division than as a singles.

6628.08.2023Ishallreview6.0People are kind of being harsh on him imo. He doesn't suck, but was just always satisfactory to me. I always think he's a solid wrestler with decent charisma, even before his heel run. I'm sure his stage fright (or whatever it is) and his character always seems to hinder his overall work. His promos at the moment aren't really doing him favors. I'm sure he'll adjust and improve over time.

6822.08.2023TheEnigmatic16.0I remember when I thought Jack Perry was gonna be a huge babyface star... Now I could care less about him, He still has some potential, I don't think he is Pillar material still and is extremally overhyped, he can do great moves and is extremly athletic but for some reason even though he is of hollywood decent he has no camera Prescence. He is all flip and that is what he has going for him, If his new heel persona goes well maybe his momentum can be revived a bit as he is apparently a boob in real life.

7104.08.2023juiceisloose2.0First of all why the fuck is he called Jungle Boy? Why has there never been a reference to his name and a background story about it? Why haven't they made something with the fact that he has an actor as a dad in real life and maybe he could've been an arrogant annoying rich LA kid or something. But his current gimmick makes no sense and doesn't help him at all. However, his biggest problem seems to be that he is incredibly out of touch with the audience and seem to never take anything seriously enough in his career to make something good out of it. Has no interesting physique and gives off a very childish vibe which makes it hard to take him seriously. Comes out as someone with no personality and does not have an interesting character. Definitely wasn't good as a face and manages to suck even harder as a heel. He is just not good.

7330.07.2023Loghan Moresco2.0one of the most essential skills for every fighter who has ever stepped inside a wrestling ring is the ability to be able to communicate with an audience and express emotions which is something that is simply non-existent in jack perry/jungle boy since his debut on the all roster elite wrestling he has shown himself as a secondary character and he has always shown despite the strong opportunities offered to him that his place is at the bottom of the card, he is still very young and can improve a lot and I hope he does that but at the moment his skills in the ring and cutting promos are inadequate and don't connect with the audience whatsoever.

8730.06.2023NEVERoverweightChampion3.0Surely one of the most overrated guys out there considering the opportunities he gets. He's not a fundamentally bad wrestler but he just doesn't stand out in any positive way. He doesn't have an ounce of charisma, is never believable in anything he says and he just doesn't have the look of a main eventer. He could be a good enough act in the lower card if he doesn't try to play a tough guy role, but he doesn't belong in anything bigger than that. He's very young so with a lot of work maybe - MAYBE - in a few years he might finally show something that could make him a star but I honestly doubt it.

8926.06.2023Aliquickk3.0This man has no charisma, an awful look, meager frame, minimal mic skills, and isn't someone people pay to see. I'm not sure why he had so much hype. He is solid in the ring, but he just isn't believable. I don't see potential for growth, but perhaps I'm wrong.

9522.06.2023Doof Warrior7.0Jungle Boy is a good wrestler who's maybe been pushed above his abilities, which is fine because that's where you can find out what you're made of. Right now it seems a heel turn is in the works, and as someone who was in attendance for his match against DOUKI, that's probably going to be the direction regardless. I'm interested to see how he handles it and if it propels him any further.
