The issue is quite simple, and Stu got that if you do not have a legit bad guy, the good guys beating him is hollow. It means nothing if the hero is against opposition with no chance of winning. The Stomper was built over a very long time, but was a legend here. He very rarely was beaten, but always found a way to make the face look good in defeat. Archie Gouldie at one time sold more tickets in Alberta than some of the New Era could sell in Times Square. Fans hated him so much they flocked to the live events in hopes of seeing him beat. Archie came off as Brock Lesnar long before it was even a thing."

For 35 years he wrestled and stayed in amazing shape, all the while still playing a great and believable character, whether he be heel or babyface. His feud with Bad News Allen in Stampede was legendary for it's raw emotion. The Stomper was truly the real deal. If he had had a run in the WWF or WCW, maybe I'd give him a 10. But, he's a legend nonetheless."
