[7.0] "It's a real shame how underutilized Sonny was towards the end of their time with AEW. Sonny is great in the ring, great kicks, great selling. Could use work on the promo side, but I think that's another thing AEW did not give Sonny the proper support on. They're only 30, lots of time to define their career and improve. Regarding negative reviews on Sonny, some people's hesitation to accept a character presenting their gender identity the way Sonny does is missing the point of evaluating wrestling talent and capability. These people need to remove themselves from the conversation."
[2.0] "Sonny has the talent in-ring work, but honestly I don't feel comfortable watching them on my TV. Making your sexuality as your character and putting your butt on the screen will make anyone skip to something else. I'm not being homophobic, but their style isn't going to win anyone over."

Hab in nem Interview gesehen, dass sie überlegt vielleicht mal in die Women's Division zu wechseln. Das könnte ihr vielleicht sogar helfen, da sie dort ihre Athletik stärker ausspielen könnte"

I think all Dark/Dark: Elevation matches should be a minimum of at least 3.5-5 minutes to give both Superstars at least a set or two of moves to display... most matches at least."
[5.0] "Sonny's extremely athletic, and they definitely have a remarkable look. There's a lot of charisma to the character, although it hasn't translated to story or promos. Sonny's style used to be way too loose, with strikes that looked too weak to be credible. They've tightened up that a bit, but with AEW's huge roster, it's tough for them to find a role and it's not necessarily clear that they're good enough to force their way into a place higher up on the card."
[7.0] "She is a natural heel valet. She should tone down her gimmick, but the underlying concept works well enough. Additionally, she is decent of high-flying. I can understand why people don't like her, her gimmick is over-the-top is probably to "R-rated." But, I think she naturally has a place in a heel stable."

[7.0] "Responsible for the worst match in Dynamite history (with Joey Janela vs Miro and Kip Sabian) but is the most thoroughly likeable wrestler, maybe in the world? Has a ton of potential and is hopefully getting closer to fulfilling it."
[3.0] "Being part of the LGBT community myself, I'm sorry if your one defining personality trait in 2022 is your sexuality or gender identity I find you really bland and boring both as a person and as a wrestler. Those kinda people belong in Garbage Can Wrestling where nothing makes sense and everyone's character is that they're an idiot. He would be better as comedic relief that the powerhouse like Hobbs or Hager destroyed to get heat, because I can't take this guy seriously, nor does his in-ring work particularly impress me."
[5.0] "I've been watching Sonny's matches hoping to see improvement, and I do think there's a bit there. Sonny is very athletic and charismatic, and a colorful character, but still feels more like a dancer than a wrestler, mostly because her strikes still just don't look like they hurt."
[3.0] "Remember when AEW was first starting and were just throwing darts on a board with regards to what indy talents they chose to book, hoping that by having a variety of wrestlers with 'quirky' characters and styles that they might be able to cover many bases and thus increase their appeal? Yeah, Sonny Kiss was one of those early signings that we sadly had to intermittently sit through for AEW's first year. His extreme focus on his flamboyance and "just joking around and being cheeky" attitude is extremely off-putting. It's clear that he's far better suited for the indy comedy scene than a major wrestling promotion. His athleticism and general wrestling skills appear very middling but not excessively bad, so he'd probably be a fine and forgettable wrestler if not for that totally cringeworthy gimmick that drags him down even further. He should absolutely be one of AEW's next cuts, considering how many far superior and more useful talents they've signed in the last two years. I think having a signature move called the "Twerksault" -- which is exactly as it sounds -- should be reason enough for no serious wrestling promotion to ever sign him."
[4.0] "An ok worker that shows some potential. Sonny is mainly seen on Dark and Dark elevation but can't really find her rhythym. There was the tag and then feud with Janela but it didn't really engage me that much."
[2.0] "Awful gimmick, green in the ring, no charisma AT ALL. Why do some people demand that this guy be on TV just because his whole gimmick is being gay? Being LGBT myself, it's beyond my comprehension. Sonny Kiss isn't good at much of anything, he's one of the few people where I hope AEW doesn't renew their contract."
[5.0] "A good athlete with an classic exotico gimmick, but looking pretty green. I have no problems with his character, but in my opinion he doesn't look very confident in the ring now."
[2.0] "The only man in the history of professional wrestling to precisely emulate the mannerisms and moveset of Stacy Keibler. While Sonny Kiss has some athletic talent, that talent should be directed somewhere other than professional wrestling, because he has the worst-looking offense imaginable and it makes a joke of any opponent he faces when they have to sell it."
[6.0] "Sonny Kiss has drawn alot of attention in and out of the ring... but unfortunately little of it has to do with wrestling. Most of his heat revolves around sexual identity. I'll leave all of that alone. As for the wrestling, Sonny Kiss needs work. He is very loose with his moves contacting his opponent and it is painfully noticeable. If he were to work more snug his moves would look a world better. As it is he barely touches the opponent so the whole thing looks fake. I think he has great athleticism and potential, but he is very green."
[8.0] "Sonny is nothing put potential. He's a very agile wrestler, who uses his NFL Cheerleadind, and dance training to good use in his matches. While he is flamboyant, you get a feeling that he is flamboyant in real life, and this isn't a gimmick. His work is smooth, and clean, and he has a ton of charisma, and connects well with crowds. That being said, he has a lot of room to grow and improve. Very impressed so far. It's disappointing that folks say they hate his gimmick, b. c that's not a gimmick. Some people wear leopard print, and twerk b. c they like doing it. If you hate men that are generally flamboyant, and you don't want that on your screen, then it's not his gimmick you have a problem with, but femme-acting gay folks."
[7.0] "I think if they can get more time to hone their performance, in-ring character, mic skills, etc. , Sonny Kiss could be a legitimate talent for AEW. I agree that Sonny isn't the best on the roster (but frankly it's easy to get overshadowed on the AEW Roster with talents like Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley, among others) and there's still plenty of growth for them to get trough. When people say that Sonny is "Cringe" all I can see is cry babies upset that someone like Sonny is on AEW at all. Get over it, no one gives a shit. All in all, if Sonny can get through those growing pains most every young wrestler needs to hurdle over, I think that they can be a legitimate talent people can get excited about."
[0.0] "Interesting character but just too green in the ring. He can develop but his skills at the moment are terrible: showin' light, zero psychology, subzero storytelling, poor execution, low charisma and a great question mark on the mic-skills."
[0.0] "I would suggest that Sonny Kiss finds a new line of work. He is dreadful his moves look awful. His match against Cody recently it was like he was having to stop to think what move he was going to do. His tag team with Janela is awful. His best match was against Kenny Omega I the recent tournament the match lasted 20 seconds and kiss managed to botch half the moves in the match."
[3.0] "As an in-ring performer Sonny Kiss is somewhat less than adequate: yes, he is agile and can pull off several acrobatic tricks, but that's about it. He's (still? ) basically a dancer, not a wrestler. So far AEW has done well to mostly book him in short matches where pulls off a few tricks and he gets quickly pinned because outside those showy tricks Sonny still has a long way to go even as a jobber: he's supposed to make the people beating him look stronger and more convincing, and right now he doesn't. Here I'd like to remind that there are presently several workers with a high level dancing background (Saya Kamitani, Yuna Mizumori etc) who are performing much more convincingly than Sonny in the ring with very little experience. This means Sonny either doesn't take wrestling training seriously or he's just hired as a special attraction to show off his acrobatic skills: that's just a pity because he seems to have a good knack for entertaintment and could do at least reasonably well if he took wrestling a little more seriously."
[7.0] "She has a lot of potential, and the best thing is that she knows that she needs more training and learning about ring psychology. Very athletic too. I wanna see what the future holds for Sonny!"
[1.0] "Er ist athletisch, aber sehr grün und lernt nicht aus Fehlern in seinen Matches. Diese sind meist sinnfreie Stuntshows, die zwar manchmal gut ausschauen, aber nichts transportieren. Beim Tanzen wäre er besser aufgehoben - denn darin liegt seine Stärke. Im Wrestling geht es derweil darum, Kämpfe glaubwürdig zu simulieren. Wenn er da nicht an allem anderen (besonders Mimik, Orientierung im Ring) außer seiner Athletik arbeitet, ist dieser Beruf meiner Ansicht nach nicht der richtige für ihn. Das Gimmick wäre in Mexiko derweil besser aufgehoben. Dort könnte er mehr Erfolg haben durch seine exotische Art, insbesondere auch im Hintergrund seines Stuntshow-Matchstils. Ich bezweifle stark, dass das Gimmick in Amerika fortwährenden Erfolg haben kann in den großen Ligen, ohne dauerhaft als Comedy Sidekick in der Undercard zu landen. Als Pro Wrestler ist es damit für mich leider nur ein Punkt und den vergebe ich für die Athletik."
[7.0] "Sonny Kiss is charismatic, extremely athletic, and has a unique persona for the business. But he needs to tighten up his ringwork, which is often sloppy. Lots of kicks that don't even come close to looking like they connected and stuff like that."
[9.0] "After seeing more of his work, I'm upping his rating from an 8 to a 9 (up there with Jungle Boy and Sammy Guevara as far as promising young stars on AEW's roster go). He's phenomenally athletic and a wonderful natural babyface, and he's quite over with the crowd, which is very nice to see. I always enjoy watching his matches, even though he never wins. I hope he doesn't end up being the first wrestler AEW drops the ball on, because they really have something special with him."
[5.0] "I'm not very into most of what I have seen of Sonny. I don't care about his sexuality & even if he uses it to an extent during his matches can work to an extent. But the way he performs he feels like being a goof & just "having a good time" is priority number one & where he wins or loses matches is never much of a concern. That's the part of his presentation that really irks me. I think there could be something with him, but I think he needs to be more of a serious fighter. That's not to say he needs to lose all of his identity."
[8.0] "Sonny is incredibly charismatic and entertaining. His gas tank never seems to be empty and he is very athletic. He stands out among any roster he's on and I thank Lucha Underground for introducing me to him."

[7.0] "Sonny is one of the most charismatic wrestlers on the indies. The crowd connects to 'The Concrete Rose', and I've seen Sonny get incredibly positive babyface reactions. And that's one of the great things about the character, at least how I've seen them presented: The Concrete Rose isn't usually presented as being a heel for their flamboyance and femininity, or their sexuality. The character seems to be an extension of the performer's life, which gives it a level of authenticity and respect that usually isn't afforded LGBTQ* characters. It's a wonderful character given to an awesomely charismatic performer. Sonny's more than just charisma, though. Sonny's nimble and agile (owing to their background as a cheerleader, I suppose? ), and seems loaded with potential! I haven't seen anything that's convinced me Sonny has great ring psychology, and a bit of crispness is missing from their moves, but those are things that can develop with time if Sonny gets ring time with the right people. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Sonny Kiss!"
