[9.0] "Insanely underestimated in my opinion, Amano stood out as one of the peak quality workers in the Dark Age of Joshi Puro; consistently pulling out incredible quality matches regardless of who she was slotted in with. What made her act work was that she had a great combination of really tremendous grappling skill combined with some lucha flair and later on added in arguably equally as amazing strikes via her infamously stiff running headbutts and elbows. You got all of that and then some from her best material typically contained within the mid-2000's from my extensive viewing wherein she was able to have great showings with just about every major name in the business and even some future stars like Ryo Mizunami/Kaori Yoneyama etc etc. This was helped by her being pretty generous in her matches: typically always giving plenty of space for her opponents to work in their own spots, helped by Amano having bumping skills that frankly bordered on "RVD taking a piledriver" tiers of craziness. There was never a feeling that she was politicking her status as a vet to get anything which was frankly very rare around those years lol. What typically drove her obscurity compared to those wrestlers was her early retirement + her prime coming at a point where coverage was almost non-existent. I would really implore those who enjoy hardened grapplers or reckless strikers to absolutely go dig out Amano matches because they positively scratch all of those inches and then some. Such a shame that her best material is probably lost to time though (namely Bolshoi 2002 JWP stuff) especially given what we have on the table already is enough to pin her down easily as a top 50 Joshi act easily. Truly one of the unsung heroes of a era that almost killed her own profession."

[7.0] "After watching a bit of old OZ Academy, I think Carlos is sorely missed and she'd still be great in OZ Academy today."
