| 9 | 06.11.2023 | MegaSPS | 10.0 | with her upcoming retirement next week now feels like the perfect time to give her a rating. i love saki akai. she came in as a tv personality and took wrestling seriously. shes who got me into tjpw and who got me to stay around in ddt. eruption have become one of my favorite units in part to saki. her match with chris brookes for the ko-d championship is one of my favorite matches this year, and its a shame she never got to hold the openweight title. ill miss her a lot when she retires but im glad i got to see her while she was wrestling, i even got to see her live and meet her, shes had a full career. one last mention is her finisher is one of my favorite moves in all of wrestling, quetzalcoatl which is a thing of beauty. |

Well, Saki Akai has never done anything remarkable in her career. I mean, like all time classics against someone. Moreover, I think her quite successful career predominantly in wrestling didn't come about because of her matches with women, no. Intergender matches! Like Candice Larae. Who can remember stellar matches from both of them against women? And against men? There you go. But, I'd like to point out - Sakisama's character is very, very good - great gimmick, excellent theme music and the "attendants" knew their roles perfectly. Definitely a major success and this is the pinnacle of her in-ring career. Therefore, I give it a four stars for Sakisama because wrestler Saki Akai is uninteresting to me to say the least. Speaking of rankings on this site. It's just absurd, I understand that some people can give a 10 today and a 1 tomorrow because they heard somewhere from someone that he is a bad person! (What a shocker! ) While that may not be true, who's going to look into it, right? It's not like that here and that's a good thing. But the people giving her such marks put her on par (for now) with pros like Shinjiro Otani, Natsuki Taiyo, Rob Van Dam and Baliyan Akki. Is that fair? I think not, but this is the "authoritative" opinion of pro wrestling "experts", you better not argue with it. Watch and rate everything with your own eyes, friends. |

I've read people's comments confused about why people like her, and it's incredibly simple: She's Good. Crazy I know. Now as an in-ring wrestler, she's pretty good. I don't think she's a botch machine like some people claim, I can't really tell you a standout fuck up from her, and I've watched a lot of modern Saki matches. She's moreso like The Rock, where her character work shines brighter than her in-ring stuff. The Saki-Sama character in my humble opinion is one of the best in Joshi Scene, she's a French Aristocrat who looks down on commoners, and she's got her own posse in NEO Biishiki-gun, a cavalcade of crazy French people. I mean hell this same woman turned Hyper Misao into a true evil doer, this is awesome storytelling. I'm gonna miss Saki Akai, she's just wonderful and I hope nothing but the best in her future post wrestling. |

Her lanky height means that she's believable in being a tangible threat against most of her opponents, through you do need to suspend your belief slightly when she's landing kicks that are definitely not hitting anything. I'm not the biggest fan of the comedy stuff but she's a reliable hand that usually can provide good matches as long as the right pieces are in place. Definitely more of a character-oriented wrestler than a workrate one, if that makes sense. Good but not great, nowhere near some of the higher ratings here. |

I've not seen her in any great matches despite seeing her wrestling in DDT for over a year. I know the ceiling is somewhat lower in DDT than it is in other promotions, but the high rating is still baffling. She gets a 3 because she isn't completely hopeless, but there's so much great wrestling out there right now that she just can't be rated higher. Not a complete waste of a talent, but brings nothing new or different or better to the table than others. 3/10. |
