He's a guy like Necro Butcher who I feel could've actually existed in the sport 30+ years ago, and back then he would never have been allowed to have the majority of the silly, unnecessary, and really off-putting gimmick matches that he's obviously associated with. A decent worker though, who doesn't need that crap to get a reaction, but generally relies on it. Just because something elicits a reaction from the crowd doesn't mean that it makes sense in the context of a wrestling match and belongs there. His extremely high rating on here makes zero sense, especially when you take into account the fact that someone like Kevin Sullivan has less than a 5 rating lol. Mind boggling. I'm pretty much positive that MASADA himself would show Sullivan the respect he deserves and rate him much higher. Like I said, he is one of the very few modern American deathmatch wrestlers who I don't dismiss outright, as I have seen ample evidence that MASADA is capable of working a real match too"
[9.0] "Say what you will about him but you can't deny he's one of the toughest wrestlers of this era and one of the last few real old school hardcore guys out there. Nothing about Masada is fake, what you see is what he truly is, black belt in taekwando who spends his free time forging blades. He's also the one that came up with both the skewers and the gusset plates that are so overdone today. Sure he's had plenty of stinkers, and he ain't as quick as he once was but a truly motivated Masada that ain't constricted by the deathmatch 'promoters' to doing just blood and guts can work a great match with anyone. The most important trait for a wrestler to have is 'realness' and credibility, which Masada has in abundance. A deathmatch legend that would have been a far bigger name in wrestling had he been born a decade or two earlier."
[10.0] "Masada is one of the best hybrid wrestlers around. His clashes with Drake Younger and Jun Kasai prove how good he is both in technical skill and ferocity. I will also say he popularized the skewered in deathmatch, I don't know anyone who was doing that before him."

[10.0] "Ich hatte die Moeglichkeit Masada dieses Jahr 3 mal in Mexico bei Chilanga Mask zu sehen und es war jedesmal ein interessantes Match. Seine Tag Team Partner und Gegner waren jedesmal aus verschiedenen Bereichen des mexikanischen Lucha Libre was das ganze noch interresanter gemacht hat. Im Ring und ausserhalb des Ringes eine starke Persoenlichkeit und mittlerweile ein guter Freund."

For his size, he can move very quickly and do some really risky high-risk moves such as a 450 splash or a moonsault. He went on an amazing run in CZW going undefeated for over 2 years, capturing both, the UVU and CZW World Championships and also going on to win a record 3 Tornament of Deaths and being the first man to win it back to back."

[10.0] "MMn Fluch und Segen der CZW. Warum Fluch? Er wird einfach so üüüüberdimensional gehypt und gepusht das es einen schon nerven kann. Wie lange ist der Typ jetzt schon unbesiegt, 2 Jahre. 2 mal das TOD gewonnen, (hat glaub ich sonst nur Wifebeater geschafft) und das auch noch 2 mal hintereinander. Sonst kann man ihm aber nichts anhängen. Als Wrestler an sich ist er perfekt macht das was er am besten kann und als Deathmatch Brawler ist er jemand mit dem man nicht im Ring stehen will."

Klar ist er kein Filligrantechniker, aber das erwartet auch niemand, zudem er immerhin "normale" Matches dennoch sehenswert führen kann. Was ihn besonders auszeichnet ist sein optimaler Look, seine irrsinnige Toughness, seine gute Ringpsychologie und die in der Death Match Szene zu seltene Gabe eines gut gemachten Matchaufbaus. Alles in allem gebe ich Masada, als das, was er nunmal ist, ein UV-Worker, seine verdienten 10 Punkte."

[8.0] "Vielleicht der einzige us-amerikanische Deathmatchwrestler den Ich wirklich gerne sehe. Ist kein fetter Randomtyp, der nur auf gewalt setzt, sondern kann wirklich ansehnliche Matches zeigen. Gutes Moveset und dazu auch noch einige spektakuläre Moves, die ein Wrestler mit so einer Größe und dem Gewicht kaum zeigen kann."
[8.0] "Gehört zu den besten Death Match Leuten in den USA und sein Gimmick ist durch seine Statur ziemlich ähnlich zu dem von Brain Damage. Nimmt selber in großen Matches auch heftige Bumps, in unwichtigeren Matches verprügelt er meist die Gegner nach Strich und Faden ohne selbst viel einzustecken. Also für das was er macht ein guter Worker."
[9.0] "Super Fähigkeiten im Ring und als "Bad Ass" absolut glaubwürdig. Zwei Kritikpunkte wären jedoch einerseits, dass er nicht besonders charismatisch ist und dass er oftmals mehr austeilt als einsteckt, was als gerade als Deathmatch Wrestler auffällt."
[7.0] "Schiere Brutalität und gutes Selling sind sein Markenzeichen, es ist aber keine besondere Technik vorhanden. Das müsste sich ändern, wenn er weiterkommen will!"
[10.0] "MASADA ist in meinen Augen der Inbegriff eines guten Wrestlers. Er ist groß - bzw. wirkt um einiges größer als er tatsächlich ist -, kräftig und hat darüber hinaus hervorragende technische Fähigkeiten. Er ist ein knall harter Brawler, der sich in unzähligen Deathmatches verdient gemacht und vor allem auch Nehmerqualitäten bewiesen hat. Besonders berüchtigt ist er für den Einsatz seiner favorisierten Waffen, den Akupunkturnadeln mit denen er die Köpfe seine Gegner bearbeitet und den Cinder Blocks. Ebenso ist er jedoch dazu in der Lage auch normalen Matches ohne Gimmicks interessant zu gestalten. Denn wie bereits beschrieben verfügt er über eine gute Technik, die sich beispielsweise in der sauberen Durchführung seiner Moves niederschlägt. Aber auch anspruchvollere Aktionen wie beispielsweise ein Moonsault ist Bestandteil seines Movesets. Woran er noch arbeiten kann ist auf jeden Fall sein Micwork, wobei es so scheint als ob er darauf auch einfach keine Lust hat. Denn wann immer es die Möglichkeit dazu gibt, lässt er lieber andere reden und Promos halten, während er nur dabei ist, raucht, Bier trinkt und hin und wieder mal böse in die Kamera schaut."
[8.0] "Masada war für mich bei ROH immer etwas unpräsent, deshalb habe ich ihn kaum bemerkt, aber seit ich bei Big Japan auf ihn aufmerksam geworden bin, habe ich ihn etwas genauer beobachtet und gemerkt, dass er ein echt guter Wrestler ist und natürlich ein noch besserer Death Match Worker. Insgesamt ist er mir also 8 Punkte wert, ein echt guter Mann."
