Over the years, Carmella has been one of the more charismatic workers in the women's division and as a result, she's become a reliable heat magnet and solid dance partner for any face in need of a challenging but ultimately beatable opponent. Working with Enzo and Cass in NXT started her off on the right track, but it was her time on SmackDown and her feud with Nikki Bella that showed us who she could be if used to her full potential. Since then, she's been everywhere on the card, from the top of the division as women's champion, to R-Truth's breakdancing sidekick, to the sultry femme fatale who embraced the finer things in life to now a tag-team specialist working alongside Billie Kay, Zelina Vega, and more recently Chelsea Green. The only real knocks on her as a performer that I can think of are that in terms of in-ring work, Carmella will never wow you. At most, she'll have a good, sometimes great match with someone, but she's not likely to be a candidate for match of the night. Character-wise, especially back then, Carmella did have moments where she would grate on you, something that has improved ten-fold since then. If you ask me, her biggest strength as a performer would be her ability to make opponents look good. Carmella always seems to know how to play to someone's strengths and sell them as a formidable threat or a sympathetic underdog. Nine times out of ten, opponents who face Carmella will come out of it looking better than they did before. Overall: Carmella has been in WWE for six years and has more than proven herself in that time. She's become a notable gadget in the women's division, capable of making others look solid while also being versatile in terms of character work. You can slot her in almost any position on the card and trust that Carmella will be able to make the most of it. She'll never be an in-ring general, but given that's not what she's about, that's okay. No matter what happens, you can expect that Carmella will do her best to make it fabulous. Trajectory: Established midcard major-league talent who has flirted with upper-card status in the past."

Carmella was good as a valet, but also achieved some success as a wrestler, winning the first MITB and becoming the WWE SmackDown Women's champion in 2018. She doesn't have any special skills at the ring, but she is pretty good in a role of chicken heel who knows how to arouse the hatred of fans."

[7.0] "I feel kinda bad for Carmella. When she became champ, the WWE intentionally tried to give her the gimmick of undeserving champion, and overdoing all interference in her matches made that so. She became detested because of how she was booked to be. I don't think she's a bad wrestler. Without Ellsworth, she shows she has a lot of personality, and charisma, and she can put together a good match. It's a basic match, but it's a good match nonetheless. I feel she needs more time to grow, but Carmella definitely has the IT factor. In her most recent role, she's portrayed the "Diva" side of the women's wrestling spectrum and again, she killed her character work. I don't feel she's a bad wrestler, but pro wrestling is filled with competitors that are moreso characters. Male wrestlers fill that role regularly, but women are far more scrutinized and Carmella is a competitor that fits that."

Her move set has always been pretty limited, but the things she does do she does pretty well. She's had a lot of bad matches, but also a fair number of good ones. Her recent match against Sasha Banks at TLC comes to mind. Sasha has good matches with just about anyone but that match showed that Carmella is able to step up her game in a major way for big matches. She's a very good promo and works well as a heel, or a comedic babyface, as shown in her great run with R-Truth. Overall, Carmella is MASSIVELY underrated. She's a good promo, is decent in ring, and has a good look. If she adds a bit more variety to her move set I might rate her higher."

Her MITB run was the best one (women), because she really held onto the briefcase and showed some strategy. Which is also why i'm giving her 7 points - she's not a big girl, but she can hang with the big girls, which the Triple-Threat at Summerslam showed to me. Her Smackdown Women's Championship reign was entertaining - it's just the matches that were bad, but segments like her "Mellabration" were comedy gold. She has a couple of cool moves and had some cool feuds (Nikki Bella) and also can be a great manager (Enzo and Cass). I'm curious how WWE will use her in the future. As I said, 7 points for me."

Then she get some progress, has some matches to do some more things, and she made some progress. But then she stopped, she just use superkick after superkick and nothing more. When she won the MITB match, I really think someone was thinking she was going to be a lot better, but she never was and never will be and even not doing nothing special she became WWE champion with a long and stupid reign looking so weak as champion, she beat Charlotte and Asuka who was beated in some stupid ways and awful matches, after losing the championship (against Charlotte of course) she just went to the place she deserve, the lowcard so I don't really understand why she became champion when she is not ready to be in a championship match."
[6.0] "I've never hated Mella. Her gimmick made her very fit to be Miss MITB and she actually has very good mic skills, not to mention she did improve. The problem with her was the feud with Asuka. Trying to make Mella look strong by pinning Asuka after a distraction from Ellsworth was highly stupid, disgraceful, and annoying. It would've been miles better if Ellsworth and never returned and Asuka had won the matches by DQ. Nonetheless, I still have interest in her future and what plans they have for her."

Im Ring ist sie immer noch meilenweit hinter den Charlottes, Beckys oder Sashas zurück. Sie ist ein bisschen besser geworden aber nicht viel. Die Botches sind weniger geworden und ihr Selling ist ganz anständig. Ihre Offensive ist teilweise aber immer noch limitiert und sieht nicht immer ganz glaubwürdig aus. Dazu wirkt sie immer noch nicht sehr flüssig und sicher in ihren Aktionen. Gerade in Singles Matches die etwas länger dauern ( siehe das Championship Match gegen Charlotte) werden die Schwächen offenbart. Mehr als 2 Punkte sind das aber immer noch nicht. Aber dafür überzeugt sie in anderen Bereichen. In Sachen Charisma ist sie vorne mit dabei in der Women´s Division. Als Face mit Bayley in NXT absolut liebenswert, als Heel im Main Roster absolut nervig und hassenswert. Sie hat nicht ganz die drawing power um zum Beispiel das Gesicht der Division bei Smack Down zu sein und ist auch manchmal etwas nervig aber dennoch ist sie in dem Bereich sgut und daher 7 Punkte. In Sachen Micwork ist sie nicht überragend aber absolut gut, sicher und glaubwürdig. Manchmal vielleicht etwas zu viel Gekreische aber dafür bleibt sie gut im Charakter. In dem Bereich 7 Punkte. Insgesamt 6 Punkte. Sicher: Sie ist keine gute In-Ring Performerin. Aber sie weiß zu unterhalten."

Was sie im Ring aber derzeit zeigt ist für den Mainspot der Damen absolut nicht ausreichend. Hauptsächlich Rumkreischen, an den Haaren ziehen und "Katzenkampf"-Schläge, das ist kaum richtiges Wrestling und geht bei der Qualität in der Womensdivision heutzutage gar nicht. Immerhin, ihre Charakterdarstellung ist gut und sie weiß ihr Gimmick auch authentisch zu präsentieren (man geht sie mir auf die Nerven in ihren Segmenten, also im positiven). Aber im Ring ist sie aktuell nicht würdig Championesse zu sein."

[3.0] "Carmella ist einfach keine gute Pro Wrestlerin und unter anderem auch keine Sports Entertainerin. Sie ist jetzt schon seit 5 Jahren in diesem Geschäft und der Stand, den sie gerade besitzt, ist nicht mal mehr ausreichend, wenn man bedenkt, dass diese "Women's Revolution" existiert. Seit ihrer Ankunft in den Hauptshows wird sie begleitet von quasi 0 Reaktionen von den Zuschauern, ihre Mic Skills sind Fremdschämen pur, besonders, wenn sie anfängt wie 'ne Idiotin rumzuschreien und ihre Wrestlingskills sind nicht gut. Kein Carmella-Match war jemals erinnerungswürdig. Die einzige Phase in ihrer Karriere, in der sie mal Reaktionen gezogen hat, war mit James Ellsworth. Es war ja schon ne Frechheit, dass die WWE sie zur 1 Ms. MITB gemacht hat, aber, dass sie Champion nun ist, ist einfach ein Unding. Man bedenkt, dass sie Charlotte besiegt hat, die noch 2 Nächte zuvor Asukas Streak beendet hat. Asuka hat ihre Streak quasi an einen gebotchten Superkick verloren."
[2.0] "Carmella ist nicht gut. Punkt. Achso... Muss ich mehr sagen? Im Ring bekam sie von mir lange Zeit noch den Zweifel für den Rookie, aber nach fünf Jahren Erfahrung darf man schon erwarten, dass sie ein einigermaßen ordentliches Match workt. Nur hat sie bisher genau das nicht getan, im Gegenteil. Sie wirkt immer noch so, als stünde sie erst seit Monaten im Ring. Die zwei Punkte gibt es für ihr ganz solides Micwork und die Ausstrahlung, die sie mitbringt. Allerdings hat sie meiner Meinung nach nichts im Seilgeviert verloren und schon gar nichts an der Spitze an einer Women's Division."
[3.0] "She's pretty good at the microphone. But her in-ring is far too poor and she lacks mastery, not able to deliver a good match in-ring. However not bad in comedy wrestling."
[6.0] "She's quite good on the mic and can delivery well her heel persona when she appears on SmackDown, but her in-ring work is not that good because she's quite repetitive and never change so much her arsenal of moves but if she work on that she will be fine in the ring in my opinion, her sell of moves is nice and she can put the other opponent over with that and also there's her briefcase that she can cash-in at any time but I don't know how they will do it with her when possibly Asuka will choose Charlotte to face at Wrestlemania and Carmella what they will do with her? But after all she only need some ring work to be a better wrestler."
[4.0] "Eigtl. mag ich Carmella und denke auch, dass sie solide Leistungen im Ring und am Mikrofon zeigen kann (=6 Punkte). Allerdings geht mir die Ellsworth-Nummer ziemlich auf den Senkel und zieht m. M. n. Carmella eher runter, als dass ihr der ganze Act auch nur irgendetwas gebracht hätte. Insofern: Solange sie an der Seite von Ellsworth steht leider nur 4 Punkte! // Update 12. 02. 2018: James Ellsworth ist sie los geworden, ihrer Relevanz hat das aber nur bedingt geholfen. Ich bleibe daher bei 4 Punkten."
[5.0] "It's funny to think that out of the three (Enzo, Cass and Carmella), she's the most successful on the main roster. I think a lot of that is because she's constantly evolving. Carmella's still nothing to write home about in the ring but she's one of the better performers in the women's division. Her high-pitched shrieks, her ability to work a crowd are obvious and will help hide her clumsiness in the ring. The MITB has helped her, but she's going to have to find ways to get heat with Ellsworth gone."
[5.0] "In meinen Augen der personifizierte Durchschnitt. Ziemlich gute Skills am Mic, durchschnittliches Maß an Charisma und schwache In-Ring-Fähigkeiten. Besonders die Präsenz im Seilgeviert geht ihr deutlich ab."
[8.0] "Aufwertung von 3 auf 8 Punkte. Warum? Sie hat das nervige Getue aus NXT abgestellt und als erste Miss MitB echt aufgegangen. Klar sind die Matches kein Augenschmauss, sie dafür umso mehr. Dazu tolles Micwork und mehr braucht eine Frau nicht um "gut" zu sein"
[5.0] "Gefällt mir ziemlich gut und ist sehr charismatisch vorallem an der Seite von Enzo und Cass sehr passend. Hat mir auch in der Mini-Fehde mit Bayley sehr gut gefallen und würde mich freuen wenn man sie bald weiter pusht."

The only reason Carmella gained all the success she DID NOT deserve and won Ms. Money in the Bank Is because of James Ellsworth. I really do not understand all the hype with Carmella..... [2.0] "First, she's young as wrestler, maybe she can progress in 2/3 years. Actually, she has no technical, poor brawling, and perhaps the worst super kick today! And when she speack in the microphone, she's unbearable."
[3.0] "Im Ring ungenügend! Dafür aber als Charakter sowohl bei Cass und Enzo als auch jetzt mit Ellsworth wirklich brauchbar. Kein Grund zum Abschalten, aber wenn sie wrestled kann man sich getrost was zu trinken holen."
[5.0] "Aus Carmella kann noch etwas werden. Von absolut schrecklich am Mic ist sie tatsächlich dort sehr gut geworden, doch im RIng ist das fast noch gar nichts. Ich hoffe echt, dass sie da noch die Kurve bekommt. Niemals sollte sie mit dem aktuellen Stand aber erfolgreich eincashen, denn das wäre nicht richtig an dieser Stelle. James Ellworth hat ihr letztendlich sogar geholfen. Durch die Steigerung der Micskills vor allem seit ihrem Koffergewinn kann man noch fünf Punkte geben, aber da muss noch was vor einer Regentschaft im Ring passieren, sonst wird das zumindest meiner Meinung nach ein Flop mit der Princess aus Staten Island."
[5.0] "In NXT she was an annoying side kick to Enzo, Cass, and even Bayley. Now she has embraced the darker more sadistic jealous side of her character she has lit a flamer under her, and even has been having a decent feud with Nikki Bella. She has time to improve and add more to her character, she could be a center piece for the division, only time will tell."
[7.0] "Definitiv eine der zukunftsträchtigsten Talente in der Womens Division. Aktuell sicherlich noch sehr unerfahren und mit einigen Fehlern. Betrachtet man jedoch ihre Entwicklung seit dem letzten Jahr sieht man wie gut sie offensichtlich an sich arbeitet und weiterentwickelt."
[5.0] "While green in the ring, Carmella has definitely been excelling on the microphone recently, completely outclassing the eternally wooden Nikki Bella. So far her only memorable match as a wrestler was an NXT Women's title bout with real life friend Bayley, but that particular match definitely did show how far she'd progressed. I hope she continues to make progress as she's come a long way from her cringe worthy persona a year ago."
[8.0] "Carmella is definitely one of the best heels on Smackdown Live's roster. Her mic skills are great and she plays her character very well. Not only is she getting a better character, she does well in the ring too. I see Carmella doing great in the future."

[3.0] "Usually charisma is something you really want out of a wrestler but their is a thing called to much charisma and Carmella is a perfect example of this. She isnt a very good wrestler either and her finishing submission hold looks terribly weak. Overall I would rate her a three but she needs a whole lot more work until she can move up to the main roster."

[5.0] "Despite being a second-generation wrestler, Carmella had no prior in-ring experience herself before being signed to WWE's development system. In the few short years since, she's become known primarily for her work as a valet for Enzo Amore and Big Cass, and shows a tremendous amount of personality and crowd-working ability in that role. More recently she's become more involved as an in-ring competitor herself, and while she's still a work in progress, she has shown promise with a mainly technical mat-based style. While it currently seems most likely that she'll remain primarily a valet, if she keeps working on her ring skills, anything is possible."
[8.0] "We haven't seen much of her in the ring to honestly judge. She hasn't work any major matches with females with more experience like Bayley or Asuka on TV. Update 2/10/16 her match with Bayley was the best match she had on NXT TV since she debut back in the Fall of 2014."
"Es wird wirklich ein bisschen oft etwas zu vorschnell geurteilt. Look passt, Micskills passen. Ihr Gear - dieses sporty zeug gefällt guuut. Im Ring wird sie offensichtlich immer besser. Aber eine klare Bewertung kann ich hier noch nicht geben. Der erste Eindruck war nicht so gut, aber sie überzeugt mehr und mehr. Sie hat sich zum Publikumsliebling hochgearbeitet. Nach dem Match gegen Bayley wird eine Bewertung drin sein."
[4.0] "I see Carmella's career heading in more the valet direction. It's not that she is a bad worker as she really pushes herself and tries her best. She's just a natural cheerleader as part of the Enzo and Cass trio. She needs to tighten up her in ring work but she is progressing nicely."
[8.0] "Spätestens gegen Nia Jax hat man gesehen, dass sie auch im Ring was drauf hat. Auch erst in diesem Match hat man gemerkt, dass sie ein grandioser Face ist, was ja anfangs eher nicht so rüberkam. Carmella ist mittlerweile als Kumpeltyp einfach verdammt sympathisch und hat sich fantastisch entwickelt."
[7.0] "Carmella has been steadily improving for a while now, she has an interesting move pool and high levels of charisma and character construction, with some more time and hard work Carmella could just surprise a lot of people."
[6.0] "A girl that has left the impression that she wants to be a wrestler. Having her own little motto and jargon "I am the princess of Staten Island! " is a decent enough way to get the fans introduced to her. The question is (way too early in her career to tell) if we'll make in the WWE. Only time will tell."
