[8.0] "I actually like watching Jose Luis Rivera, whether he wrestled as himself, a Black Demon, Red Demon, Shadow, or a Conquistador. He was always big and beefy for a jobber. Had the opportunity to compete in SVS 1988. He mainly worked on mask gimmicks throughout his career. My favorite mask gimmick of his was The Shadow. Underrated jobber, and was unfortunate that his career ended early. Wish he went back to McMahon's federation in 1995 or Turner's Championship Wrestling."
"One of more iconic Jobbers of the WWF during the 1980s boom period. He had thick body type and wrestled averagely in the ring. He had some masked personas as The Shadows with Moondog Rex & Los Conquistadors with Jose Estrada Sr. He also wrestled as Black Demon & Red Demon."
[8.0] "Edited for clarity & a score raise: As Jose Luis/Mac Rivera he was tentative, often had trouble getting his ring jacket off and in general looked at the lights often (although there are a few surprise victories to stumble upon). Never one to look like a complete chump: he seemed to look better physically by the year (well built and dedicated to the weights). His true self began to came out as The Red Demon. The Red Demon would use every cheap heel tactic and seemed to have a whole tackle box of invisible items in his ring attire, antics that will always be a guilty pleasure of mine. He only worked a short while as this character but it has etched a spot in my heart forever. He then moved on to assist Moondog Rex as The Shadows, here he was more subdued than the Red Demon but was definitely more offensively inclined than his unmasked persona. While there was mild chemistry, The Shadows simply didn't last very long. He was soon to become Conquistador #1, I really loved The Conquistador team and still do! After my favorite era of his career ended (aforementioned Conquistador run), he became The Black Demon. The Black Demon was something like a mix of The Shadow #2 and Jose Luis unmasked - which is to say a tackling dummy in a black outfit. Career highlight: Survivor Series 1988 as Conquistador #1. Notable chemistry with plenty but some shine brighter than others (The Rockers, Paul Roma, Rick Martel & Tito Santana). I readily admit it's sometimes hard to appreciate the Jose Luis Rivera character, but man is it easy to love The Red Demon & Conquistador #1. 7.5"
[4.0] "One of the better WWF jobbers in the mid to late 80's WWF. You could usually find him on the house shows doing the J-O-B to guys like Jake Roberts and Randy Savage."
[4.0] "Jobber to the stars, and occasionally one a match here and there. Technically solid, but plodding at times. Unlike SD Jones who could get the crowd behind him was not usually cheered even against a heel."
[7.0] "He was one of those jobber that tired very hard in the ring. he could do a airplane spin! People only remember him in Puerto Rico and Hulkamania days in WWF. Busted his ass every match. Did not like his mask gimmicks that he did with Red Demon and Conquistador . Did not do anything after the 80's."
[3.0] "He could move a little bit. He could garner mild interest from the fans. Add a point for his work as a Conquistador. They were a credible mid card enhancement team."
