The guy was the wrestling kingpin of one of the largest, most diverse parts of the American population and made millions by pushing ethnic talent that the fans could relate to. Dude didn't even need title changes to draw money. Sure his cards weren't always the most exciting but the importance of each event was never lost on me. No bad things can be said about this man and his impact on the wrestling industry, except maybe the fact he didn't pull out of Vicky and bust on her tits like a civilized adult."

Wenn man sich jedoch seine Erfolge/Nicht-Erfolge als Booker ansieht, erkennt man doch dass er kein besonders begabter prompter war, wie er hier dargestellt wird. In den 70ern war die WWWF nichts besonderes unter den anderen Ligen, nein sogar kleiner als so manche Liga (NWA/F, AWA). Die WWF berühmt und erfolgreich gemacht, das hat erst sein Sohn geschafft. Und dass er einen seiner beliebtesten Angestellten entlässt weil dieser einen Film dreht (was nur Publicity mit sich bringen kann) ist doch realtiv unklug gewesen."

Vince Senior war schon ein guter Promoter, er hat schon frühzeitig die WWWF zu einer Top-Promotion außerhalb der NWA gemacht. Auch Jahre vor der Hulkamania war die WWWF eine sehr bekannte Promotion auf Augenhöhe mit der NWA. Man denke nur an Events wie das NWA-World-Title vs WWWF-World-Title-Match zwischen Flair und Backlund. Soetwas zeigt den hohen Status, den der ältere McMahon seiner Liga bereits verschafft hatte."
