[10.0] "Okay, I have to be honest, I'm only giving Brian Zane a 10 because of his YouTube channel. For me, he is far and away the best YWC channel ever, I love his videos and have been watching for a very long time, also a hero of mine for representing the autism community in the professional wrestling world. While I don't agree with everything he says, I can't deny that he has amazing content and has been consistent for years."
[4.0] "Joey Styles at home. The K-Mart blue-light sale Joey Styles. Public domain Joey Styles. Brian Zane made a name for himself on youtube, reviewing professional wrestling. He was never over-the-top and fairly informative. His work as a manager on the independent scene wasn't bad either. Again, not over-the-top but serviceable. Years ago he made a list of his favorite wrestlers of all time, and it was substantial to say the least. Yet he went back and made a few edits, understandable tastes change with time. Weirdly enough, everyone removed was "canceled." Hmmm interesting. And that pretty much summarizes Zane, he's "safe." His opinions never really shake up anything and he's just bland. The Stephen Colbert of professional wrestling, will leach on to others and side with any popular opinion."
[8.0] "I gotta rank him on his youtube channel, before any purists groan- my criteria is "how watchable are they" and his stuff there is pretty good! I enjoy his dual fan/worker perspective & that his worker perspective has slowly grown because he takes in some good knowledge and spreads it in an easily digestible manner. What he needs work on is watching more older material and taking a couple steps back so to speak. *ahem* All of us benefit from watching more "older wrestling" - whatever "older" means to you."
[10.0] "8/10 for his wrestling work as a commentator in ROH and his manager schticks in the independents, but bumped to a 10 due to his youtube channel and how influential it's been in the IWC."
"I have enjoyed some of his videos in the past and he seems like a nice guy but at the end of the day, hes a wrestling youtuber who used that noteriety to get some bookings on the indies, i thinks its fair to say he had a smaller impact on wrestling than Hulk Hogan. That being said i am not going to give Brian Zane a negative rating and put him below Hogan because i find this to be hilarious in a perverse way."
[9.0] "I've been watching Wrestling With Wregret from the beginning. Been a fan from video one and I've recently also looked into his short career as a singles wrestler and of course as a manager which he also covered on his YouTube channel. To keep it short: I really like Brian Zane. I like his videos, but most importantly I really like his in-ring career as well. He was a lousy wrestler which he realized himself pretty early on and began shifting into the role as manager which suits him almost perfectly. He can absolutely draw heat, created an original championship and is an all around great manager. He's soon to be the commissioner for POW! Pro Wrestling and I think it's well deserved."
[6.0] "Brian is good on mic and really can be great heel manager but his wrestling abilities is not so good so 6 points I think it's pretty adequate rating"
[7.0] "Brian Zane was smart enough to understand he was the absolute shit as a wrestler, so he became a manager and later on started to produce Wrestling With Wregret which is one of the most enjoyable things in modern wrestling today. Nobody should rate him as an in ring talent, that doesn't make much sense."
[7.0] "After finding himself unsuited to an in-ring career, Zane transitioned to a managerial role and has crafted a solid niche for himself in the Pacific Northwest indy scene. His strong character and mic-work, inspired by the classic managers of the past (most specifically Jim Cornette), has made him one of the better heel managers on the independent scene. Zane's most visible success, however, has come from his popular YouTube wrestling series "Wrestling with Wregret, " in which he provides insightful and entertaining analysis of the wrestling industry. As it is, he's a good presence for shows that need a heel manager and comes with a built-in internet fanbase; from the mind for the business he's demonstrated in his YouTube series, I suspect he might also be successful in the realm of booking should he decide to try his hand at it."
[1.0] "Wow I can not believe the ratings for Brian Zane. Just because he starts a YouTube channel doesnt mean he is legendary. Anyway I saw two of his matches and from what I have seen he just doesnt have the look or athleticism to be anywhere close the rating he has currently. Overall horrible wrestler but he gets a point for being a good talker."
[8.0] "I find it very humorous that he's both a manager and basically a YouTube celebrity. He must have great mic skill, he may have pointed out that he's had some not so exceptionally great matches as a scrubbier wrestler, but hey! If you book him in your indy federation, at least his youtube cult following will help!"
[7.0] "Though he was never exceptional as a manager, and actually kind of bland in the ring, Brian Zane has shown his talent and insight into the business through a webshow called "Wrestling With Wregret. " It does not reflect his ringwork or managerial abilities, but I think this is where he shines the most."
