Definitely more of a tag wrestler, his singles ability left much to be desired but the look of him was so unique, I really wanted that shirt. It's sad that he never got a chance to shine on Nitro, his big moments were on the previous year."

If you missed him check out Willie Jay's Youtube series, The Glory Days of Pro Wrestling. His career was above average at best, in retrospect, despite me being a big fan."

"From what I saw of him he was a good rassler, he Could cut a compelling promo and managed to draw a good amount of heat. I will need to watch more of him before rating though"

[8.0] "I'm going to refrain from saying things about other inmates, aside from the ignorance runs a bit too rampant. Dirty Dick Slater (lol, that NAME! ) was great in that he truly came off as a local bar frequenting b@stard f#ck of a real JERK, that could legitimately kick your sorry a$s. Forget yer fancy 'rasslin, he was ready to bar room brawl - orrr so you THOUGHT! He could grapple too, he wasn't a Brisco, but he could go and that made for a compelling heel and a VERY credible adversary. In fact, many times you truly worried about your heroes if Slater was involved. In the South he ran roughshod and made himself legendary/infamous in a rather quick manner. The WWF ran was AWFUL. I would never recommend his WWF run; very out of place, ill fitting and ill conceived. nope, no way- points deducted big time. He did some decent stuff in WCW. I did NOT like the tag team with Dick Murdoch as The Hardliners. The tag team with Greg Valentine is like handing me a maple frosted donut; I'LL TAKE 9 MORE PLEASE! The Stud Stable was such a guilty pleasure; I loved to hate them and now as an old timer, I just straight up love them. Rough & Ready was the best use of Mike Enos since his pairing with Wayne Bloom. Of note: he was a damn good promo, but he would often forsake time limitations (bad selfish habit) - however post WWF run, he rarely spoke at all. Something happened somewhere... anywho. I like Dick alot. 7.5 rounded up"

Great on the mic, and adequate in the ring. Had some barn burners both with and against Dusty Rhodes and crew, He follows the same road map as Buzz Sawyer as you need to check out their entire life's work."

Sure he played the heel good during his time in Mid-South and even had a nice face run in Georgia but his in-ring work always left a lot to be desired. He just was a guy that should of been in the first two matches compared to being a main event guy in my book."

[7.0] "Slater would never be top of the card in a major promotion, but he was a solid mid card guy for more than 2 decades. The rating system here is a little flawed when every 190 pound high flyer working in front of 800 fans gets a 8 or 9 rating and a guy like slater is getting 4 and 5's. Slater would never crack a top 100 pwi spot, but he always had a job and was always someone the fans would give heat too."

[10.0] ""The Rebel" Dick Slater , einer meiner absoluten Lieblingswrestler.
