[10.0] "yukio is fantastic. he really is one of the best mma fighters turned pro wrestlers, he just gets it. for debuting as late as he did (around 40 years old) he feels like hes been wrestling since he was 20. i would love to see him get another run as openweight champion. EDIT: yukio retired recently so i felt i should bump him up to a 10 since in his last few months as a wrestler he genuinely became one of my favorites. its a shame he only had one run as ko-d openweight champion and never really got to main event a whole lot, at least not in big title matches. he also somehow managed an entire gimmick based run as yukio saint-laurent as a member of neo biishiki gun. yukio has a near 12 year career to watch, and he is definitely worth seeking out."

He oozes charisma, has a great look and he blasts guys with kicks and is a good submission wrestler too. Then you'll find out he's 48 and you'll lament that he didn't make his way into the business at 28 rather than 38. I truly believe that if Sakaguchi had that extra 10 years of in-ring work then you could consider building him a case as one of the greats. The fact that he can work at such a high octane at 48 is incredible. Enjoy Sakaguchi now while he's still working at this high standard."

He can have a hilarious match against Danshoku Dino involving pantyhose and horse heads in the same year he has an epic gauntlet style match involving both of DDT's tag titles. And he's doing all of that at the age of 47. Sakaguchi is a DDT treasure and I'm glad to see him being rewarded."

This is as much a negative review for this person? s review as it is a positive review for Sakaguchi. Sakaguchi is a badass who brings a dangerous aura to him while being able to mix it with comedy extremely well. His ground game is fantastic and his strikes have a vicious snap to them. fuckin hell dude have you actually watched a Yukio Sakaguchi match? That is legit the most misinformed sounding review of a wrestler I? ve read on this site so far. ? I wasn? t able to imagine Yukio in comedy segment? : yeah that just tells me you? ve never watched a full DDT show lol"

I really wish Sakaguchi one day will face some talanted guys from other promotions, like Tomohiro Ishii, Masaaki Mochizuki, Katsuhiko Nakajima, etc."

[8.0] "Yukio Sakaguchi is the kind of wrestler that really appeals to my sensibilities. The guy has an MMA background that lends to stiff strikes and vicious kicks as well as solid technical holds. Being a member of the DDT Roster, he also manages to incorporate comedy when the match calls for it and does so in a way that seems effortless. Sakaguchi's match against Minoru Suzuki proves that he can definitely hold his own in a serious one on one competition and I would love to see him in more in the future (perhaps against they newly acquired Yoshihiro Takayama). Though only 4 years in to his pro wrestling career and at age of 42, I still feel like we have yet to see the best of what Sakaguchi has to offer; something I cannot say about many people in his age group."
