[8.0] "If there was ever a mount rushmore for Minnesota Wrestling, The Axe's face would be one of the ones carved in stone on it. Larry traveled all over the world, New Zealand, Japan, you name it throughout his career as a territorial pro wrestler. He also was a main eventer in all of those same places that I just mentioned. However, I don't think he was ever as big of a star anywhere else as he was in his home territory, The American Wrestling Association (AWA) regardless of whether he was a heel or he was a babyface. He had a believable look from the rugged facial features, to the muscled up body, to the large arms. He was a highly believable promo that backed up the way he looked. Was great as both a tag team wrestler and a singles star. He was also one of the original graduates of the famed Robbinsdale High School where was a state champion in wresting and by osmosis of who he was/ what he done at the school played a role in 7 future pro wrestlers breaking in to the pro wrestling business -- Brady Boone, Tom Zenk, Barry Darsow, John Nord, Rick Rude, Scott Simpson/Nikita Koloff, and of course his son Curt."
