Taya Valkyrie

[8.0] "Talk about a worker who adapts to her surroundings - and shes been given a variety of circumstances over the years. Her work in AAA, esp. as the leading lady of Los Perros Del Mal is foundational work - she was an outsider who not only learned Spanish, she learned lucha and learned it well. Crowds and fellow wrestlers alike clearly appreciate her. That said, her work outside of Mexico has yielded mixed results, not that its her fault. WWE never knew what to do with her, right down to having her name changed. Her Impact work was fine but never clicked quite the same. Her AEW fate remains to be seen. She could be a great asset if they use her right. She is physically intimidating, a great actress (shes really funny - smart promotions make use of this) and can wrestle multiple styles well. Whats not to like?"

[4.0] "Only going off of her run in AEW, and I can certainly say she isn't good. While she has the look and presence of a star, she can't put together a good match at all, nor cut a good promo. One day, I might consider watching her stuff in Mexico and come back and say how good she is, or rewatch her stuff from Lucha Underground since it's been so long since I've watch LU. As I stand, for now, she sucks."

Ich habe sie sowohl bei Impact als auch bei Lucha Underground immer für ziemlich langweilig und austauschbar befunden, weshalb es mir schleierhaft ist, dass sie den Knockout's Titel so lange halten durfte. Sie kommt mir im Ring ziemlich hölzern und eintönig vor, weshalb sie in meinen Augen immer auf ihre Gegner angewiesen ist. Mal abgesehen vom Match gegen Ayako Hamada bei AAA fallen mir keine nennenswert guten Matches ein. Update: Abwertung auf einen Punkt. Ist seit 2021 noch einmal gehörig schlechter geworden. Bewegt sich konstant so, als hätte sie unzählige Operationen am Knie gehabt. Man könnte sie ja als "washed" bezeichnen, aber das würde implizieren, dass sie mal gut war."

[5.0] "UPDATED REVIEW. I originally gave Taya a very scathing review but, looking back at it, it was WAY too mean. I still don't think she's a very good wrestler but she can hold her own in a match decently with the right opponent (i.e. not Britt Baker) and seems to be a decent person (wrestling for XPW aside)."

When someone misses her finisher it's because she really is really bad. And what annoys me most about her is that she still thinks she's good and doesn't need to evolve."

Awful selling, awkward movements, zero chemistry with any of her opponents (regardless of their experience levels), and very weak and unconvincing offence. The ONLY thing she has going for her is her character work, since her displays of confidence and arrogance can be pretty good, and she does well drawing attention to herself with her facial expressions, poses, and taunts. She also doesn't sound too bad on the mic, so that makes two things preventing her from being outright awful. She still shouldn't be on TV, though."

She has also been noted as somewhat catty and spiteful outside of the ropes, which has surely been reflected in a handful of particularly mean-spiritwd tweets over the years. Update/ammendment: Taya is, in fact, an awful wrestler."

In NXT she just could not get a break. She had bad matches with very green opponents and never got a character going well. AEW is going in the same direction as NXT unfortunately with the Jade match. Hoping she and Statlander can burn the house down."

Ihre Persönlichkeit und ihr Auftreten generieren oberflächlich Interesse, aber das ist dann nie nachhaltig, da bei ihr eigentlich keinerlei Tiefe vorhanden ist. Spätestens im Ring ist es dann vorbei. Sie ist schlichtweg langweilig und doch ordentlich limitiert. In einem gewissen Rahmen funktioniert sie temporär, das ist aber schnell vorbei. Nicht ausreichend für mich."

[3.0] "This woman can't go. Her reputation is built from almost 10 years ago when the bar was so much lower. Her best matches are behind her. She moves under water, knees are done, I don't know how much longer we can pretend the plunder she does helps even a little."

[4.0] "She has a great look, but as a wrestler she's slightly below average. I think she has declined in ring post her WWE run and now in Impact is one of the least interesting parts of their women's division."

She needs to improve, but watching her in AAA, Impact, and even MLW was pretty fun, because she added to those women's divisions with her "star power." In WWE, I thought she'd do well, but she had a horrible run with the Robert Stone Brand which eventually led her to be released. I'll keep being invested in Taya, but if she doesn't improve in the ring somewhat soon, I might begin to lose interest."

I? ve seen her in a few live shows and she elevates other performers, and has just this incredible star power and charisma. She? s so magnetic. If you have a chance to see her live, take it!"

Edit 30.11.2021 war sehr sauer über ihre Entlassung und kann sie absolut verstehen. Sowas von Schade wie sie bei NXT/ NXT 2.0 verschwendet wurde."

[4.0] "Franky is ok on the mic, but very mediocre in the ring. She is slow and not convincing at all. I don't know how to describe it correctly, but when she attacks, it seems that she is some kind of soft toy and does not do any damage. She is also not good at selling."

[4.0] "Among all matches I saw of her Taya had a grand total of one very good match (against Io Shirai in Stardom, no big surprises here), for the rest just a sea of mediocrity. Let's see how much the NXT hype machine will "improve" her."

Her incredibly sloppy ring-work and irritating character (namely in Impact) that is done far better by others even in the company she now works for... namely, Lacey Evans. Along with Brie Bella, Taya is proof that talent is not often equally shared between husband (in her case, the incredibly gifted John Morrison) and wife."

[7.0] "Taya is someone who I feel epitomizes being a "good hand". I know some take that as a back handed compliment, but I honestly think she's very good. Perhaps not great, but very good. She has a unique look & good presence. She's been ever evolving & I think the final days of her Impact run was beginning to look very interesting. True she was relying heavy on comedy, but if she toned that back a bit & pushed her bitchy characteristics up a notch, I think she'd really get to the next level. She was just signed to WWE (NXT) and I'd like to believe that she'll get to that next level in the WWE. But considering how they view her husband, I have doubts that she'll make it there."

Danach hat sie stark nachgelassen und bei Impact kamen auch nur noch bestensfalls mittelmässige Matches zum Vorschein zum Ende ihrer Impact Zeit."

Timing = 0, hat sie wahrscheinlich noch nie gehört. Sauberkeit? Wohl auch nicht (1/10). Ausstrahlung ist dagegen gut (8/10), Charisma jedoch kaum vorhanden (3/10). Insgesamt sind das dann 4, 33 von 10 Punkten - "ausreichend"."

[7.0] "*ICH KANN UND WERDE AUSSCHLIEßLICH NUR IHRE LUCHA UNDERGROUND ZEIT BEWERTEN* Taya gehört bei Lucha underground für mich zu den schlechtesten was die in ring Leistungen angeht. Sie kann einfach nicht mithalten, was ziemlich doof ist da sie sehr prominent eingesetzt wird! Sie ist aber kein total Ausfall. Sie ist im Ring solide, aber ihre Stärken sind das Managen von u. a. Johny Mundo. Als Heel Managerin finde ich sie grandios, da sie eine schöne ausstrahlung hat und das "Bitch* Gimmick einfach perfekt verkörpert."

[9.0] "Im Ring nicht grandios, aber doch sehr gut zu gebrauchen und sie spielt ihr Gimmick ausgezeichnet. Zudem geht sie mit sich nicht zimperlich um, wie allein das No DQ Match gegen Cage bei Lucha Underground gezeigt hat. Als Sidekick von Johny Mundo ist sie grandios und greift als typische Heel-"Managerin" auch immer gut für ihren Mann ein. Ich sehe sie richtig gerne, daher mal neun Punkte."

[7.0] "Bisher werde ich noch nicht warm mit ihr. Aber sie hat ihre Fähigkeiten, dazu gehören auch gutes Selling und solide Moves."

[8.0] "Habe sie bei LU im Match gegen Cage das erste Mal gesehen und war echt beeindruckt, was sie für Bumps hingenommen hat. Ihre Rolle als "richtiges Miststück" an der Seite Johnny Mundos spielt sie ebenfalls richtig gut. Bei AAA wird sie nicht ganz so gut eingesetzt, aber wohl immer noch besser als es jede Diva bei WWE erleiden muss."

[7.0] "Maybe she's not the best wrestler or foreigner wrestler in Mexico, but, nobody's can be a good wrestler and sexy as hell, Taya is one of the most lovers rudas in Mexico and also she can fly outside the ring and its weir watching a woman flying and doing that extreme things. Taya knows perfecty how to stole the heart of the mexiccans"
