118.03.2024ddtprofan400010.0Mr. Fuji was a legendary figure in professional wrestling. his undeniable charisma and managerial skills elevated countless wrestlers to championship success, leaving an indelible mark on the industry with his memorable presence. RIP to the legend . He was also a pretty good Tag wrestler

305.12.2023Conquistador378.0"WHAT! ? You cross double Mr. Fuji! ? " His tag work is rather fun, the (W)WWF territory was mostly boring but Fuji usually wasn't. Some of the more entertaining enhancement matches for the era and area. Managerial work is mostly "eh" but who doesn't love Demolition? The Demolition stuff is unquestionably his peak, "Make opponents suffa, make them feel paaain". I liked the Powers of Pain pairing as well. The Oddjob tribute was the perfect look for him. The Yokozuna pairing certainly worked. Mostly a fan but I can see why some don't like his material at all. EDIT: I failed to mention his finisher from his in ring days. He would bounce off the ropes and do a diving twisting back splash/headbutt. It looked fantastic and devastating, that was a thing of beauty and I need to up his score because overall I like him enough for a seven point five rounded up

628.09.2023Number One Omosapien8.0Now he wasn't a great in ring worker, but the managing of Yokozuna is what really gives him this rating. He drew massive amounts of heat because of the whole foreign heel gimmick. I can understand why some people aren't fans, but his legendary status as a manager is what really gives him this rating
731.05.2023Giantfan19806.0Solid manager in the 80's an probably the #3 behind Bobby Heenan and Jimmy Hart. Things kinda stagnated for him when he broke with Demolition and then got a second life as the manger of Yokozuna. Eventually got pushed to the side by Jim Cornette who came in to basically be the mouth piece for Yoko and Fuji.

903.03.2023greaterdale7.0I've seen very few Mr. Fuji matches. however rating him as a manager I would say he was very good in that role. I'm mostly familiar with him managing Yokozuna, his gimmick has not aged well as it's very racist which prevents me from rating him higher, but when he was doing less problematic ways of getting heat he seemed very good in that role. Overall he was definitely a good heel manager, that has become harder to watch in modern times due to WWF's poor treatment of people of color. 7/10 is a fine score for him in my books.

1122.07.2022Leth995.0You know, tbh the stuff he did outside of character was more funny than the stuff he did as the japanese manager Mr. Fuji

1522.12.2021benny5bellys2.0I never saw Mr Fuji wrestle but the fact they needed to bring in another manager for a stable that had a manager says everything you need to know about him and his skills. He did look cool waving a flag though, I will give him that.

1823.01.2021Brett19804.0Just alright. Sometimes the Gimmick was offensive and he just did the same stuff for years. Not really seen much of his wrestling, I know that I have seen him wrestle before he was a manager though.

2212.06.2020Khalid Ace0.0Mr. Fuji is a wrestler who doesn't even have one good match & a manager who couldn't talk nor take a bump. He's simply awful. Same old tricks to distract his opponent. He is lucky to work for this long with very little talent.

2530.05.2019ElPolloLoco5.0Mr. Fuji was a pretty good tag team specialist: by 70's standards he was a rather good wrestler, albeit he never really shone in singles matches and needed a tag partner to cover some of his most glaring weaknesses.. All things considered however he was an above average wrestler who deservedly achieved a lot, especially when tagging with Prof. Tanaka. Those two really knew how to work together and how to get a crowd to hate them and their tag team is deservedly remember as a great heel act. The reason I had to cut his rating is because of his stint as a manager: Mr. Fuji is a classic case of a good in-ring worker who couldn't cut a promo to save his life, so his managing career was bound to be a fiasco from day one, and a fiasco it was. Too bad a whole generation of fans got to know him as a horrible manager instead of the good wrestler he had been.
2608.01.2019zephyr2.0Disclaimer: I have only seen a single match from his time as a wrestler so I will be rating Mr Fuji the manager. And Mr Fuji the manager is awful. Horribly racist gimmick, no talking ability, and only had his salt throw to use in every single match. Just horrible.
2706.12.2018JEK 199110.0I love this guy. He was great as a wrestler 7/10. More of a tag team specialist than a singles. Being billed form Japan and having the stereotypical gimmick was great back when foreigners gimmicks were great and acceptable. As a manager 10/10. Never was a babyface and played a heel very well. He reminded me of the guy from Goldfinger the Oddjob with he suit. I loved how he choked his opponents with the cane or poked them with the Japanese flag or throw flour in their faces. You don't see many managers like him anymore.

2916.11.2018RatingsMachine5.0Mr. Fuji was a decent worker and had a good run as a wrestler. And whilst he gained great fame as a manager, he was really bad at it. He couldn't really move or bump, so you couldn't do anything physical, and his interviews were beyond terrible.

3221.04.2018Gauntlet848.0As a wrestler he was completely forgettable but he ranks among my favorite managers. The Yokozuna era is especially top-notch.

3510.03.2017Argylex7.0
3609.01.2017rjsbx117.0Popular as the manager of Yokozuna for throwing salt in his opponent's eyes, he is mostly forgotten for having a career as a wrestler for over three and half decades before that winning various tag titles and touring across numerous promotions. He came to WWWF teaming with Prof. Tanaka with Grand Wizard as his manager and their team was magic with Tanaka being the powerhouse and Fuji being the evil genius taking care of ring psychology and deviant heel tactics to win matches starting to use the salt in matches. Fuji was a good heel manager at a time when the WWF was inundated with great heel managers. They had Bobby Heenan, The Genius, Paul Bearer, Sensational Sherri, Harvey Wippleman and Jimmy Hart all rubbing shoulders and, as good as Fuji was, he just wasn't in the same league as Jim Cornette, Bobby Heenan or Jimmy Hart. He was good, though.

4614.12.2015Squared Circle10.0Top flight Tag specialist who could hold his own in a singles match. Add a point for longevity and a point for some great work as a manager.
