His run in NXT was pretty bad, I still remember that piece of wood he would carry to the ring... pretty stupid, especially in the 2010s. Made a great impact in the 2016 Royal Rumble, his look really differentiated him from everybody else on the roster around that time. However, he just isn't capable of having good matches, he can talk which is a plus but everything else just falls short. His in-ring style is very bad and not suited for mainstream wrestling, guys like Walter/Gunther are able to do it because they just have that little something extra about them, whereas Miro just falls very flat. |

| 59 | 31.08.2023 | arrancar | 6.0 | When he's not taking long periods of time off due to injury, waning work ethic, or a lack of creative direction, Miro can be both a compelling character and an impressive brute powerhouse. After initially struggling in AEW with his awful "gamer" and "Best Man" gimmicks, he finally managed to the rediscover the same level of endearing charm as his previous "Bulgarian Brute" character with Rusev in WWE, this time with his "Redeemer" and "God's Favourite Champion" personas. These gimmicks may be rather goofy, but it's better to describe them as 'larger than life', since Miro made these characters really compelling because of the great conviction he displayed and clear joy he got when playing them. It's really cool how unafraid he is to lean into the more goofy side of things, which in turn makes those would-be goofy performances far more captivating because of how much life he brings to those roles. It of course also helps that he has a convincing look and really good offence to back this character work up, featuring some nicely impactful strikes and power moves, plus some submissions which look genuinely painful. Consistency is the real issue for Miro, since he'll go through periods of getting over with good performances, and then he'll go through long lay-offs where he's completely forgotten about, requiring him to need to restart the whole process of draw attention to himself and building himself up. It was nice to see him finally return to AEW in 2023 with the debut of Collision, but his in-ring/screen time during this period has still been rather inconsistent and minimal (3 squash matches in 2 whole months isn't exactly impressive, after all). Hopefully he now gets into the groove of more consistently having matches and contributing to ongoing feuds, which may lead to me upping his rating. |
