It was a well-worked back and forth match between these two, and they used the psychology of a table match well, with some nice 'close calls.' A table match is hard to do well psychology wise, considering the endings are always abrupt, and it's hard to tease a finish, but they accomplished it nicely. I wouldn't go as far as calling this match a classic or anything like that, but it was very enjoyable. Again, another match that hit harder than you might expect given there were no stakes and the feud wasn't that hot. Don't let all of them cause you to skip this match, because you'll be missing a pretty fun table match."

[4.0] "This match probably only happened because they wanted to get Sheamus on the card to keep him hot. But the matches on this card are all quite short, so this time could have been better served elsewhere. The bout itself is quite serviceable all things considered. They put together a fine match given how cold and random it was, but don't expect anything special, either. It keeps Sheamus strong, and Swagger continues to slide down the card. Decent enough, but really didn't need to happen."

[7.0] "Match would have been better if Gable won. I know people really liked Sami vs Gunther at mania but I just don't think Sami was the right choice to beat him, and I'm a huge Sami fan. It's because he should be presented as a world title contender, he's already won the IC title 3 times. Anyways with this match, I don't understand making Gable both lose and being the last person. If he's gonna lose atleast send him out 1 or 2 to make him look strong. It was also abit too super cena for my liking with Sami surviving 3 ankle locks after having already wrestled 2 guys."

[5.0] "You know, honestly, for a match that had Van Hammer and Horace Hogan and The Yetay, this wasn't that bad. Okay, sure, it wasn't great, but it was a fine little TV match that had everyone in their pretty much working to their strengths, though it perhaps overstayed its welcome a tad. Juvi jumping onto Reese's shoulders and knocking him over a kneeling Horace was honestly as really fun spot, as was them doing the "catch the luchador doing a dive" spot followed by Van Hammer - clumsily - landing onto the pile. Of course, those were definitely the high points and the rest was largely a lot of slow brawling and Juvi doing his best to bump like a mad man for all the big men."

[6.0] "This match was, quite honestly, far better than I expected! Now, Ziggler is in there, so I knew it wasn't going to be bad, but I never thought to highly of Ryder, so I figured this would be an average match, but it was much better than that. If this match got a little more time and there was a bit more storytelling and selling to the match, I'd have given it 7 points, but besides a combo of near falls, it didn't really have the drama or good storytelling I look for to score a match incredibly high. As a standalone match, it was very, very good, but it is just a tiny bit shy of being exceptional. Better than it looked on paper for sure, and a match worth coming back to!"

[7.0] "Good TV match here, just a bit awkward at times but not so much that I thought the momentum was hurt. Both women looked very solid here, some really good strikes and exchanges. The outcome was expected but the post match was really not, not sure what that was about but I'm curious."

[4.0] "This is a fairly typical hardcore match with a lot of monotonous brawling in the crowd, but the match gets somewhat better in the second half with some inventive spots. The piledriver through the flat screen is a highlight, and Gage takes a cool back body drop through a bed of barbed wire. He doesn't hit it flush and it ends up looking even granrlier because he breaks a piece of the wood comprising the bed. Ultimately there isn't much else to make the match stand out. The ending comes a bit suddenly and isn't very satisfying."

[4.0] "It was fine. Nothing spectacular. If only they had given them more time, it probably would've been a classic."

[3.0] "This was more of a comedy match than anything. It was funny but it was kind of all over the place. Wish they had taken Melina and Mickie more seriously back then."

[5.0] "After the 10th kick out from a finisher, more finishers lose their effect. The match needed more regular moves and build up. Everything else before and after the match was great. The intros especially were awesome. But that doesn't make up for the ridiculousness of essentially an all finisher match."

[4.0] "This was an ambitious match but it didn't really work that well for me. The split screen was more harm than good, two tiny screens showing a lot of random chaos in a match that was already difficult to follow. Also the usual drawback of your standard deathmatch, you break so much glass in the first few minutes that it's hard to gauge what's supposed to be super damaging and what's just normal."

[4.0] "Obviously it works for the crowd and the critics and that's really all that matters, just my own two cents but this match was not for me. I got what they were going for but it was way, way too long, they tried to cram so much stuff in here and yet to me so little of it was actually memorable, just another Ospreay match with a guy who'd give his left arm to be Will Ospreay. Feels like I've seen this same match 100 times now."

[10.0] "Holy fucking shit. I seriously don't fault anyone for thinking this is one of the best matches of all time. I also don't blame anyone for being just a tad underwhelmed by the match, even if at the end they also think its an absolute great and important match. This match gets a fuckton of praise and recognition compared to the majority of the catalogue of Misawa, Kawada, and frankly the rest of the four pillars. This is the first match to get a 6 out of 5 stars from Dave Meltzer, and that didn't happen again for another 23 years. If you go on Eddie Kingston's Wikipedia page, this match in particular is mentioned in his Early Life section, where its said he estimated to have watched it over 1, 000 times. This is Kawada's highest rated singles match, Misawa's second highest rated, AJPW's second highest rated, and the 10th highest rated match on Cagematch. It is highly regarded and for good reason. I think the reason why I personally don't consider it the best match of all time is simply because of the matches that have come out from this scene since then. This match paved the way for some of the best matches in professional wrestling, and raised the standard to such an insane degree. Again, that isn't discrediting this match in the slightest, this is an absolutely incredible match, with my only complaint being the albeit necessary slow part in the first half. It's certainly one of the best. It's just that we were proven this wasn't even the peak of either of these men, or AJPW in general."

[6.0] "A good progression of the Kaito and Kenoh story, the Kiyomiya hot tag with Kenoh really playing up the face in peril role was great work."

[5.0] "It's better than the Summerslam match and the crowd was at least hot for it because of the drama with the storyline. Unfortunately the storyline is awful to watch play out and it's just classic bad WWF writing that has aged like milk! Pillman's character work is great and like pretty much all of his WWF run, he relies completely on that as his body wasn't capable of the kind of matches he had in WCW."

[8.0] "As this progressed it gradually ramped up in action and intensity from all four wrestlers. I liked the sequences between Great Sakura and Takumi Iroha, there were some excellent nearfalls."

[9.0] "This is the payoff of a feud that has been going on in pretty much every NOAH program since Mack and Alpha Wolf's return in 2023. Appropriately, it was a hardcore match, and though it was in the extremely-hardcore-match-unfriendly-arena of Shinjuku FACE, it worked exceedingly well. Ninja Mack FINALLY triumphs over his bitter rival (please look at their match history--Alpha Wolf has been slapping the spit out of Ninja Mack's mouth for about a year now) in something of a classic main event for his much maligned Hardcore belt. I actually genuinely think that this match, and program, were so good that I'm going to go raise my score on the belt overall here, since between this and the immediate challenge by AJPW's Shuji Ishikawa of all people, this belt is fast on track to be rehabilitated."

[9.0] "Tomohiro Ishii is the greatest wrestler of all time. It's been a while since I've actually sat down and watched a good Ishii match so I'm happy I stumbled across this absolute banger. Early on they establish Hero's significant size advantage over Ishii allowing Ishii to do what he does best and play the underdog and make some absolutely magnificent comebacks. Hero constantly outpowers Ishii and almost doesn't take him seriously. Even down to the closing stages of the match when it's a lot more even, Hero constantly to underestimate Ishii, looking almost unphased when he tries to power him up for a German suplex which makes the moment when he eventually does that much more special. With this being an Ishii match as well, there's a ton of no selling spots that are all amazing because no one has mastered the art of the no sell like he has. Anyone can no sell a piledriver, but in this match when Ishii does it, it feels like a genuine HOLY SHIT moment because of his facial expression and unrivalled charisma. This isn't perfect, because i wasn't really a fan of some of the early stuff they did on the outside, but this match is still an absolute must watch. ****3/4"

[6.0] "There were certainly entertaining aspects to this match, most notably the flying fist from the top of the stairs to Bryan Keith in the ring. Maybe a rewatch will help improve the score but I did come away a bit disappointed by how it all went."

[7.0] "Decent back and forth action with Ali toning down some of the crowd interaction to focus fully on his opponent. Possibly a little too back and forth meaning that it felt a little exhibition-y. Regardless, some great spots and I continue to be high on Alis recent run."

[3.0] "Not a fan of this one at all. Part of the first half was decent, there were a lot of fine moves and moments overall. But the rest of the match lacked coordination and just looked sloppy on everyone's part. Everyone involved were great wrestlers at the time, but this just didn't work."

[6.0] "The crowd was RED HOT for Wagner, who feels like an absolute megastar right now. The match itself is mostly just threatening a Lee/Wagner rematch, which the crowd was a bit more divided on, until Kaito, intent on being the new face of the company in light of his defeat of Kenoh, came out to challenge Jake Lee and stop him from holding the main event scene hostage. The post match segment between Lee/Kaito/Wagner (Lee, it cannot be underlined enough, is brilliant on the mic) is far more interesting than the match itself, which kind of ends before it really gets going. Still, it was nice to see Wagner wrestle."

[6.0] "About as solid as it gets. Nothing to live long in the memory but they executed well, told a cool story with the power of Amira balancing the experience of Adora, then a neat, out-of-nowhere finish. Solid"

[6.0] "Hayata needed to win that national belt so badly that they... immediately put him forgettable mid-card tag match. The crowd seems to really like the visual pairing of Hayata and Ulka, but I personally think Hayata drags Ulka's mystique down a bit. Frankly speaking, booking Ulka on your show and then not getting to see his entrance should be some sort of crime. Otherwise, this is a completely fine match where everyone involved is a relatively smooth professional, but the only "heat" generated here is from a crowd that is so unbelievably sick and tired of yet another squashing of Owada. You will not remember seeing this match. I only barely do, and I was there."

[1.0] "Diabolically bad. Some of the most dreadful supernatural gimmick stuff youll ever see and its even worse given that those involved are talented enough to have a perfectly good match without it. A normal Lio Rush match feels spooky enough tbh because he moves like a freak (in the best possible way) with that crazy athleticism and unorthodox style. This though? Just an absolute waste with cringy amateur dramatics that had me feeling an absurd amount of second hand embarrassment. Even as a wrestling match it annoyed me though because of a reliance on overdone kickout tropes and false finishes. Then the actual finish was just awful magic stuff. Look, I guess this stuff has its audience and the crowd seemed to like it but probably the worst match I have seen this year personally"

[8.0] "Plenty of dope spots sprinkled throughout the match with some gnarly looking bumps. Splitting the titles here seemed like a good call, and I loved the unexpected feel-good moment at the end. Lots of fun all around."

[6.0] "What we got was a solid match but doing this with Hero for his last two matches turning into a tag isnt the most inspired. Ending felt a bit flat as well as it felt like the singles portion was about to pick up. 5.5-6"

[7.0] "Kenoh (and, to be fair, Kaito, as well) was so unbelievably funny here. This match is something of a 4th wall break: a big NOAH critique is that large segments of their programming is random, storyless tag matches. But, the in-universe property of that has now caused this -very- story relevant teaming up of long term and bitter rivals Kaito and Kenoh, and at the best time it could have, too, as Kenoh's "Kaito Young Lion T-shirt" angle and his new obsession/fake-friend angle has given their story something of a manic and hilarious second wind. As for the match itself, Kenoh and Kaito could've wrestled this against two paper bags and it would've been largely the same. I really don't meant to insult Masa/Daiki, but they were barely there in this match, other than to be foils to the hilarious storytelling of Kenoh trying to buddy up to an extremely revolted Kaito. 5 for the match, 1000 for the angle, let's say... 7. Sure."

[6.0] "Star power and aura galore in this match. Everyone looked cool as hell, and Jade walks away from her first match like the terminator we all expected. Rather short but achieved pretty much everything it needed to."

[6.0] "Fell short of the expectations set by the family drama that has been unfolding over the last few years, but I don't think it was anything less than decent. I found enjoyment out of their repeated trading of superkicks despite it taking up like half the match, which is probably why my rating strays quite far from the average. Kinda stupid for sure but also quite funny. I do wish they had more time though and a better constructed finishing sequence."

[3.0] "I think this could of worked alot better in a traditional team setting (building up to a Mecha Mummy hot tag)with a better build up. The fist from on top of the stairs was cool and there was fun parts but, I'm not how to feel about it. The background robot sound and pacing going th felt weird to me to. I think this might be a fun trivia note though."

[6.0] "Too much clipping to rate it higher. Negro Casas was the highlight of this match, Casas/Asai was a good matchup."

[7.0] "Pretty short match here compared to their 40+ minute Triple Crown title match from the previous year. Right from the get go, it's about as stiff as you'd expect from these guys as they both trade chops with eachother as soon as the bell rings, which soon devolves into a ton of lariats from Kensuke and a lot of stiff knees by Suzuki as the match progresses. The strikes here are obviously great, but it was the little things here that stood out the most to me. Sasaki attempts a bulldog at one point but Suzuki counters it by shoving him into the corner, and the way it was done was really unique I thought. Late into the match there's also this really cool sequence where Suzuki hits a Gotch Style piledriver on Sasaki and immediately gets him back up to slap him a bunch, only for Sasaki to go for a desperation lariat which Suzuki avoids to transition into the sleeper. The finish here was also well done, with Suzuki just straight up wrestling Sasaki down to the mat and locking in a sleeper that Sasaki literally couldn't get out of leading to the ref calling for the bell. This was a bit short and perhaps a bit too strike-y but there was enough good stuff here to differentiate it from other strikefests. ***1/2"

[7.0] "This match was very good, i love matches like that when there's no DQ and wrestlers can basically do anything they want and use whatever they want. It really felt like an ECW match and i just loved it."

[10.0] "Probably the greatest match in WWE history. The storytelling was awesome cause it lead to the biggest double turn combined with an amazing wrestling match it made it perfect."

[2.0] "Outside of the really iconic moment of Shane going through the glass, this is not very good. Shane botches quite a few moves, Angle does some absolutely clownish overselling, and the match is horribly paced. I will never understand the mentality WWE had at this time where they loved putting people who weren't good at hardcore matches in hardcore matches. Lots of just "walk and brawl" in this match."

[4.0] "An okay match, was easy work for the champion after his great match with Johson, a weird choice to main event your show tho"

[8.0] "For years, I believed this to be the best SNME match of all-time, due to the unique chemistry between the two teams involved. Most people like the 2.3 Falls match from later, but I prefer their house show matches. To me, when I was 14 , nothing was better than The Rockers/Brainbusters going at it."

[8.0] "For years, I felt this was the best match ever on Saturday Night's Main Event, but while I still love it, I'd say Santana/Hennig is probably better. This was excedllent, though. These two teams had a unique chemistry."

[6.0] "Fun little opener, Andretti may be the next in line for the TV Title match, it's a shame that it seems that ROH/AEW doesn't know what to do with Private Party"

[8.0] "This was a fun match to watch. By this point, The Hardys had undergone the Broken transformation, complete with Matt Hardy's crazy hair and the hilariously terrible accent he was speaking with. Jeff Hardy was still doing is best in the ring, even walking along the guardrail on the entrance ramp to jump into the ring, but the Young Bucks were way younger and could help carry the Hardys in the match. Not that the Hardys need to be carried, but they were older than their set of matches in 2014 and Jeff had that bad dirt bike accident where he broke his leg. This match had some fun moments, but it was more about the personalities than just simply having a great match, and I think they knew that. Matt at one point tried the use wrestling boots as a weapons in his hands, and even bit one the Bucks by the foot. Not great, but certainly fun to watch. ***3/4"

[7.0] "A 50/50 match nobody sells in that match but the big moves are still impressive for a modern eye. Fun match."

[5.0] "[2.5*] I honestly hated this match. I am only giving it this rating because the moves were pretty and Ueno was very good on his dominant part of the match, but everything besides that was pretty bad in my opinion. The suplex sequence where each guy did like 5 suplexes and kicks did not make sense at all. These no-sell spots are only good when big guys like Ishii are into it, but the cruiserweight Mike Bailey being able to resist a ton of suplexes and no-selling them all is pretty wild. The kickout at 1 spot was dumb too because it had almost no-reaction, which seemed to be a pretty common occurrence throughout the match. As I said, the moves were pretty, tho."

[7.0] "[3.5*] I enjoyed the dynamic a lot, where Shunma interrupted Takeshitas entrance and took advantage for the first few moments, because he knew he could not beat Takeshita 1-on-1 on a straight fight. So he created all this momentum, almost won, and then Konosuke was able to use his size and strength advantage to take control of the match and win."

[7.0] "In terms of storytelling? Near perfect. Completely understandable why this match is as remembered as it is and it deserves it rating and importance in history. Marked a new era for the company and wrestling as a whole. But personally I was not super taken aback by the wrestling itself. Both have had matches that I have enjoyed more, but I will admit that this was a pretty important one for each of them."

[6.0] "Second rope piledriver was pretty cool, though sucks that Hokuto would get her neck broken. Second fall match still goes pretty well and Hokuto still takes alot of punishment despite having a broken neck. But the ending is kind of lame, though understandable, its just a bunch of kicks into a win. Respectable match"

[10.0] "Great Match. Iyo is a great wrestler who hit all her moves well and congrats to Bayley for winning the championship."

[6.0] "I thought this match was really great the first time I watched it, however rewatching it, some of the ladder spots and other cool moments feel kind of dull. Also if, Jericho was going to win it should have had Benoit pass out to the walls of jericho on the ladder and get the belt rather than have the match continue after that."

[6.0] "It's a good match, but personally I wasn't really wowed by it. Pretty cool spots but doesn't compare to the other matches that have taken place. I feel kind of mixed on the ending as well. Although I find it fitting for Edge to continue his role as the 'ultimate opportunist' I felt like he could have done way more in this match to earn that win, considering what he's done before."

[7.0] "This was pretty good for a late '80s Hogan match. Nice little brawl with Bad News Brown seeming to pose a real threat to Hogan's reign. Bad News was criminally underrated for his character work and often is forgotten about in the Golden Era."

[6.0] "Some really solid stuff here, the first and second fall gives both wrestlers moments to shine. The third fall is a mix of both falls and is really good as well. Not much else besides some really great spots and actually some really decent technical at the start, would have liked more of that in the second and third falls."

[6.0] "Most of the first half sees the two teams play by the traditional tag team format and it is just ok. The first handcuff of the match and the counter to it was something that I found predictable. However after both teams stop tagging in, the match goes into complete chaos this match becomes an absolute blast to watch. Not only are there insane moments but their buildup and execution are great. Although I found the first half of the match somewhat underwhelming, the second half made up for it."

[5.0] "A heel vs heel match between 4 great wrestlers that ended in a double count-out... yeah the finish was really stupid but aside from the finish the match was good."

[7.0] "Takase/Chisako interactions were on another level compared to Iwata/Anou, which made this a match of two halves. Hopefully there's gonna be a substantial time period when Takase is presented and pushed as a strong, fiery champion that can not only take a beating, but make a big comeback, kick ass and look strong in victory, she's too good not to."

[6.0] "Some very predictable parts here. Actually solid in ring work aside from the hardcore stuff, but the hardcore stuff did not it as hard as I could tell when it was going to happen. However the crowd is really into it and is by no means a bad match, just a good one."

[6.0] "Solid match. Some hiccups throughout the match that damage the flow and overall quality of the match, but its nothing that major to make me rate this any lower. Really great finish as well. Hope these two get to do more in the future, especially if Swerve gets the AEW Championship."

[5.0] "Soya has such a great level of intensity in his wrestling, he's one of my favourites in NOAH. He really gave Oiwa a lot here; I think he's one of the better young lions even if he still has some way to go in terms of putting it all together. Fun match senior vs rookie match that didn't outstay its welcome."

[7.0] "These two have a pretty acceptable amount of chemistry considering they're great technical workers who always look to work around and one up their opponent. But this match didn't seem like anything overly special aside from the crowd and the hype going into it, although it is still a perfectly fine match, just nothing I would really rate any higher."

[8.0] "This was a wild and fun match full of crazy and innovative bumps. Alpha Wolf was a really great imposing heel throughout the match, overpowering and reversing a lot of Mack's offence and using it against him. The tope over the top rope through the tables and Alpha throwing Mack off of the top of the ladder were insane."

[8.0] "Just shy of ten years after Hikaru Shida beat Athena at SHIMMER, Athena is in a rare position of little self-confidence. The match ramps up slowly but effectively, with Shida having an answer to many of Athena's usual tactics. Once Athena bunkers down and uses the environment, Shida has to raise her game by doing the same. Athena at times seems almost insulted her crowd, the ROH crowd, are chanting for Shida, and builds the fire to carry on. Shida countering, and then kicking out of Athena's finisher, proving herself to be a mountain Athena must climb to feel satisfied with her reign. Athena manages to do it at the very end, in another great defense for the forever champ."

[10.0] "One of wwe Best Womans Match Last year. they didn;t have that much buid but the match was really Good. Weird to see the crowd Boo Bianca, but its great To See IYO getting really over. One of the best openening Matches In backlash. Just a pain that they didn;t have as good as a much at Crown Jewel."

[5.0] "I didn't hate this, mostly for the stuff after the match with Big John Studd coming out to confront Andre. Jake Roberts gets involved as well. The match itself was kind of dull, but I still enjoyed it."

[7.0] "Its a show opener. Its a meh Match. Ospreay has Gotten better in Three Years, but he was still good at that time."

[6.0] "Matsumoto tried as much as she could to give her and Chi Chi to a chance to pull of an upset, but Hashimoto was just too strong for Chi Chi this time. Matsumoto/Hashimoto sequence was the highlight to me and Chi Chi again looked impressive for someone with less than a year of experience. ***"

[8.0] "This was a pretty fun match that was all action and no downtime from the start. Aj has started looking really good as of late, and he pulled out another great performance here. Rey and KO were good here as well. Lots of funs sequences and counters here and we got an awesome finish here too. This was very enjoyable for its time and you could do a lot worse in 9 minutes.***3/4"

[8.0] "Im not too familiar with classic lucha libre, but this match wouldnt have felt out of place if it happened in the early-to mid 80s in AJPW. Lots of focus on holds and submission moves here. The focus on countering out of each other holds and trying to establish dominance made this a breath of fresh air compared to most modern matches that happen. Theres still some aspects of modern match here but theres not too much outside of some dives here and there. Great match with an even better atmosphere. ****1/4"

[6.0] "Enjoyable between these two. Pretty standard type of Minoru match at this stage of his career but AKIRA showed some good fire. Was clear how much this match meant to AKIRA as well which was nice to see."
