[7.0] "Gutes Match.Spaßiger Hart-Hitting-Fight mit sehr vielen Chops und harten Aktionen, das Tempo war zwar nicht so hoch und das Finish war so zu erwarten. ***1/2"
[7.0] "There are wrestlers who try to chop each other and then there are masters of that craft. Roderick Strong and Tomohiro Ishii are the latter. As some mentioned, there were some minor misfires, but this was still a damn good match. Incredibly physical from start to finish, with both competitors showing why they're among the best in the world. 3.5 stars, 7 out of 10. Really hope we get a third bout to put a bow on this trilogy."
[4.0] "Lahmes Match, war irgendwie froh, als es vorbei war. Viel Chopping, wenig Tempo. Ishii wirkte nicht besonders motiviert, Strong versuchte immerhin etwas zu reißen. Können beide besser."
[7.0] "Very good match between two sleeper favourites in the world of wrestling. Wasn't as good as their previous singles meeting back in the ROH-NJPW crossover days, but I can't complain about what was given either."
[7.0] "Standard clobbering, but very fun TV nonetheless. Ishii's usual formula isn't going to change much with this runtime or setting, but Strong adds an extra wrinkle or two, taking an unsurprisingly aggressive control segment along the way. Beyond that though, it's a whole lot of exchanging blows which while not creative, works well enough and suits Strong just fine also. ***1/4"
[5.0] "If you are a NJPW fan you will feel right at home with this. Just a fine serviceable match between Roderick and Ishii with not much heat behind this match. They trade chops for minutes and Roderick does the usual 'trying to knock down Ishii but failing' attempt. Then Roderick gets blocked in the corner for a comedy spot trying to get out of it but Ishii not budging. This spot happened twice. And Roderick once again tries to knock Ishii down but he stands strong and instead tackles Roderick down. All this felt way too repetitive with nothing much interesting happening. Ishi hits his usual suplexes and lariats. Roderick escapes lariats. Roderick ends the match with his jumping knee finisher which looks so unconvincing for some reason even though he legit knocked out Dalton Castle last week with it. Undisputed Kingdom and Conglomeration have a face off after the match."
[7.0] "Roderick Strong vs Tomohiro Ishii: roddy comes out looking upset, hope hes ok. When this match started with a seemingly endless chip fight, I must admit I had a terrible feeling about this match. I was completely off. This match was really good. I admittedly have a very small viewing sample of Ishii, but this is easily the best match I have seen him in. Lots of solid offensive moves delivered really well. Roderick Strong is excellent. The match ended with the U.K distraction and a low blow by Roddy, then the knee. The rest of the conglomeration came out and made the save after the bell. Really good match. 7/10"
[5.0] "I'm pretty well over Ishii matches in 2024 because there's nothing new or creative on display now. Do a bunch of chopping, no sell a bunch, take your check and go home."
[3.0] "Immediately starts with "let's take turns hitting each other" because we only have seen that in 50% of every match this year. This accomplishes nothing and usually just shows how phony this all is. Not a great start. But at least that is out of the way for the match. Despite never being presented as someone who wins anything in this company, Ishii no sells everything the first couple minutes from Roddy. Hopefully this is salvaged with some heel hijinks by Strong. Eh, but instead of that, the thing that would actually get the heel over as a heel he just outsmarts Ishii and takes advantage. The other issue with it is Ishii no sold everything to this point, cheating should definitely have been the equalizer. Bad logic. Things improve a bit from here as it turns into wrestling. Confusing back and forth with reverses and dodges that rolls into an olympic slam and gut buster by Roddy. Schiavone fails to call anything relevant in ring that can paint a story. We get a 2 count by Ishii as a last stand, a distraction leads to a low blow (thank you for being a heel) and that gets the pin. *1/2"
[6.0] "This one kind of underdelivered. Of course it still had its moments, and had a few nice striking and chopping exchanges but is was far less explosive and exciting as I was hoping for. The match is fairly back and forth but Roddy eventually gets the win after interference from the Kingdom which allows him to hit a low blow and a jumping knee on Ishii which allows him to get the pin. A pretty fun match, but not as good as I was hoping for. ***1/4"
[8.0] "This was real graps. My favorite Rod match since probably his match with Ospreay. Ishii putting in a great effort here before Rod has to stoop low to get the cheap win. There was a great sense of grit here which Ishii usually can get out of his opponents. Good stuff."
"Ishii looked much better in the 4-way last week because he actually had to move around. Here he stands in place and no-sells Roddy's strikes for an alarming amount of time while Roddy acts surprised. It's frustrating to see a smart character like Roddy wrestle like he's never seen an Ishii match before, but I guess some people actually want to see those godawful chop exchanges every time out."
"This is TK booking got the sickos and as a sicko I loved it. Ishii is endlessly watchable and Strong needs some new interesting opponents. I am so sad Ishii is not in the G1 this summer but I think the Summer of the Stone Pitbull in AEW is going to lead to a lot of fun."
[7.0] "Lovely chopping between two hard men. Yes I don't care about the phrasing. It's how you'd imagine a Roddy Strong vs. Tomohiro Ishii match. Interference at the end by Bennett and Taven gave Strong the win, which given he's challenging for the ROH World Title next week was the right call to make."
[7.0] "Yup, they chopped the dogshit out of each other in this one. This wasn't the match they had back in the mid-10s but it was quite a good one for 12 minutes and little stakes. Obviously the chopping is gonna rule with Roddy & Ishii, just every variant you could want from the exchanges, and then Roddy gets a heat segment that's very snug, and Ishii makes a good comeback. A great example of a very formulaic match elevated by performers that make the basics look so good. Bit of a lame distraction finish though. ***1/2"
