1324.01.2024ZackSabreGargano6.0As I watch this match the more and more I think that Undertaker's persona; character is the most worthwhile thing to study here, firstly this match is completely all about the formula There's no doubt about it, Undertaker and Brock Lesnar have always been about the same moves, not surprisingly, and I'm not criticising him. I think the second thing to study from this match is what was gained from undertaker's character and his thoughts? I think that the sneak attack segment at the end of this match expresses what Undertaker is really thinking inside, both that I want to win and that I must have revenge, and that this hatred comes from Brock's ending of his 21-match winning streak. And it's not the Undertaker's official statement that it's Paul Hayman who's been using this to mock him. Further it can be found that what Undertaker has done, such as a series of sneak attacks that spoiled Brock's title matches, all of these surfaces that Undertaker is totally attacking Brock, and is putting the final nail in the coffin of his winning streak. Meanwhile Undertaker's villainous role here resembles someone who is bottomless for revenge.

2724.08.2023rhlgull13315.0It's one of those matches that are memorable for only one little moment. Funnily enough, the second Taker/Lesnar match to be as such. The first one was a jaw-dropping extinguishing of a decades-long burning flame in the form of a three-count on Undertaker, and this second one had a funny GIF where Undertaker made a silly face. [3]

3005.08.2023ElRaven9.0Main event. Revenge of The Undertaker. It was because of this match that I decided to review this PPV for 8 years, because in my memory it was one of the best SummerSlam. Well... it turned out that the show wasn't as good as I remembered it, especially the first part of the show. But this duel, as well as the match between John and Seth, is still great. Perhaps it is thanks to them that I have such vivid memories of this evening. I remember 8 years ago I thought it was time for Taker to retire after losing Brock at WM, but now I understand that this loss motivated the dead man to make another decent run. The feud with Brock was, in retrospect, one of the best in Taker's late carter. In terms of quality, this match surpassed their last fight at WrestleMania many times over. Brock was in his prime, Taker also tried his best, and this simply cannot but command respect. A wonderful match from two masters of their craft. It was with this match that The Undertaker proved that he still has "gunpowder in the flasks" and that he can give us some more cool matches. ****1/2

Gute 8 Punkte!

4807.02.2023CoolKyle6.0On the surface this looked as if this massive bout was going to live up to the hype. It had that proverbial big-match feel. Undertaker looked much better than he did at WrestleMania 30. He and Lesnar put on a compelling slugfest. The trouble wasn't with Undertaker being past his primeit was WWE Creative not just letting the titans go at it. The screwy finish gutted the drama the wrestlers built. Clearly, the controversy was designed to lead to another showdown between them, which exceeded all expectations, but this was the wrong way to do it.

5205.10.2022TheOneAndOnlyCactus8.0His last match at SummerSlam, and what a way to say goodbye to the PPV. Brock Lesnar may have ended "The Streak" at WrestleMania XXX, but that was far from the end of his story with the Undertaker. Now, the Deadman seeked revenge, and seemingly was going to do anything to achieve it. Those who remember the Taker suffering a concussion in 2014 were not very optimistic, and even though he made his return against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 31, his performance was just passable. We didn't have the Taker of old. However, they didn't just exceed those expectations, they blew them away. It's like the Undertaker was embarrassed by the Wrestlemania match and decided to put on a career defining performance for the rematch. He was a killer, no filler here. It was a total blast, which played to Lesnar's strengths. The trash-talk was top notch. They attacked each other from the start, a real hit-fest in the first half of the fight and they built the tension very well for the second half. After landing some really hard blows on each other, they went on a rampage and it was very dramatic and entertaining until the end. That laugh sequence was hilarious, those amazing near falls were also key. The ending is still frustrating, even though we know what it was going to lead to. I would have preferred Taker to win because Lesnar falls unconscious in Hell's Gate, and you can have Brock and Heyman saying he didn't really lose because he didn't quit, and thus demand a rematch. While the ending drops the match a bit in the ratings, it is still an outstanding performance, especially when you consider Taker's age and physical condition.

6703.05.2022GonzoAppreciator8.0This was a great match and easily one the best of Undertaker's latter years. Undertaker worked at a really quick pace that I wouldn't have expected of him at this age. I didn't like the finish as it felt weird for Taker to randomly low blow Lesnar after having never done something like that his whole career. The double sit-up spot was also weird but it was pretty funny at least.

7223.03.2022flightaker3218.0Undertaker actually looking good in a match post-Wrestlemania 30 is the most shocking thing to me here. He doesn't look as beat up physically as he usually would, or tire out so quickly in this one. They went out and put out a compelling slugfest, while still playing into the story of Undertaker doing whatever he can do to take down Brock. They traded some near-falls with their finishers towards the end. I'm a bit torn on the ending because of the visual of Brock slowly passing away but giving Taker the middle finger makes for a great visual. ****1/4
7308.02.2022milos1234569.0Despite regular stipulation, this was really epic match. Maybe it wasn't best technical match, but surely one of best, if not the best Lesnar' s match in 2010s and Undertaker' s last big battle in career. Action was thrilling from beginning. F5 on table, and best chokeslam ever looked really impressive. Of course, laughing spot was totally unexpected. All of their big moves were executed perfectly. Undertaker' s storytelling was incredible. Ending was bad, Taker needed to win cleanly, but it made a place to their Hell in A Cell match.
7427.01.2022cactus9.0This felt as if Undertaker was embarrassed by the shambolic Wrestlemania match and decided to put in a career performance in the rematch. He's all killer, no filler here. This was a total bombfest, which played to Lesnar's strengths. The trash talk here was top-notch and shows that WWE can actually use dialogue within their matches without it coming off like a school play. That dueling sit-up spot was incredible. Brock has Undertaker in the Kimura and the bell randomly rings without Undertaker tapping out, causing mass confusion and outrage. The referee argues with the timekeeper as Undertaker hits a low blow and locks on the Hell's Gate. The image of Brock giving Undertaker the bird before finally passing out made for a hell of a final visual. The shady finish wasn't brilliant, but I can forgive them seeing as they were desperate to protect Brock's aura. This was a dramatic hoss fight and one of the few times where Undertaker actually comes off as cool as he thinks he is. If you would have told me a week ago that I'd prefer this match over their legendary 2002 Hell In A Cell, I'd call you crazy, but here we are.
7525.01.2022TheLegitBoss8.0Surprising main event between Lesnar and Undertaker in the positive sense of the word in my humble opinion because I didn't expect it to be so cool at all, their WrestleMania XXX match was mediocre so I didn't expected anything from this rematch but fortunately they decided to make up for their previous bad encounter and they did it in the best way. Of course it wasn't a classic or anything but it was a million times better than what they offered us a year earlier, the comparison is not even relevant as Undertaker was in much better shape and Lesnar seemed a hundred times more motivated. The ending leaves me confused but this image of Lesnar giving Taker a middle finger while doing in the Hell's Gate was absolutely fantastic, the fight (because yes it was a real fight) was just as great and the intensity was super high. I was really surprised by the way this match turned out because I didn't think it was going to be that good at all, they seemed vindictive because they themselves knew that their WM bout hadn't delivered and they decided to give the people the match they were expected to.
