The ending was very good, Sasha tried with her submission to make Bianca tap out, Bianca resisted and managed to escape, Sasha's frustration at that moment was incredible, simply a technical spectacle in this match, Sasha managed to punish Bianca's hair in some very good ways creative. Sasha's performance here was PHENOMENAL."

At one point I thought that The Boss could get the upper hand when she starts to work on her opponent's arm but that as well isn't sold and is over after three moves."

I thought it was a decent show with some good matches and some okay matches but it really needed to deliver a great one in the final match after all the hype and the ladies did exactly that. People had such high expectations and it's so common these days for matches in these spots to disappoint but they really brought it and tore the house down. A match worthy of the Mania main event spot, which is actually a pretty rare thing to say. Just before the match began there was a standing ovation and Banks & Belair just looked at each other and almost broke down as the moment almost overwhelmed them. They brought it from moment one and this was a fantastic showcase for Belair, WWE's newest female star. The roll through on Sasha's dive and gorilla press up the stairs and back into the ring. The delayed vertical suplex. The two 450 splashes. She looked amazing. That hair whip was insane. You could immediately see the long cut appear on Sasha's side. She's going to be so sore in the morning. Finally the big win for Belair (shame about Michael Cole's botched kick out call) and it was a wonderful moment to see her."

A great and beautiful moment for Bianca Belair that really build herself since she got there to capture the title in such a historic WrestleMania in the Main Event ! Just a W for both Sasha & Bianca for this memorable and magical moment !"

Both of these two are so creative with their counters and their offence and combining that to make Bianca look like the biggest star in the world make for a really compelling match. Bianca catching the dive into a gorilla press up the steps, the tree of woe spots and Bianca's deadlift powerbombs were beast. Sasha using the hair to her advantage and then it costing her at the end with the insane hair whip was beautiful come-uppance and a sweet ass finish - ****1/4"

Both womens charisma and abilities were on display during this match, only held down by the overdramatic acting at times and Biancas questionable selling at times too."

However, her performance overall in this match was good, so was Banks's. I have seen a lot of reviewers ranking this as top 5 best matches of 2021 and I have to disagree with them. This is an era where wrestling is so homogenised with supposedly dozens of 4+ Star matches every year which nobody remembers anything about by the year's end (e.g. every G1 Climax). Sasha doesn't do that. One of her special touches is so many of her big matches have these very memorable moments that belong to that match only. Bianca's braid, stomping Bayley's hand, stealing a girl's hairband, killing Charlotte with the kendo stick, that insane dive into Asuka's kick spot. She crafts singular matches which leave a lasting impression."

It begins with Bianca showing off her impressive and commendable athleticism and a exhibition of her strength where she lifts Sasha with ease . The battle then spills to the outside where a brisk tope suicida awaits Bianca and she lifts Sasha and bench presses her throwing her into the ring . That was one of a kind amazing . As the battle gets heated and intensifies the display and showcase of emotions becomes more clear and vivid . Sasha is becoming frustrated due to not being able to put Bianca away as she is taken by surprise . On the other hand , Bianca is fired up by her robust will and strong determination and the trash talk by Sasha at times which fuels up Bianca and she puts together a surge of momentum to get back into the game . The depth of emotion was missing , had it been present I'm sure this would have been twice as memorable even better in quality. It had hard hitting strikes exchanged . The braid shot in the end was brutal and resulted in a ugly scar on her body . A second KO'd put Sasha away unlike the first which Sasha was able to power out of barely. I think it had a very good energy and atmosphere . The pacing was great , I enjoyed all 18 minutes of its run time . Not a single dull moment . The story telling and psychology was on spot and superb stuff . Loved it and appreciable stuff from both women . A star has been made on the grandest stage of them all . ****1/4"

This match managed to have big, exciting spots to get their WrestleMania Moments (TM) while not sacrificing the little things and keeping up a great intensity in between these key moments. Right from the jump, I was sold on Belair as a sympathetic babyface, but they didn? t have me sold at first on Sasha as a heel, but in the end, I kinda liked that, as Sasha got more and more vicious the deeper into the match they got as she began to realize she was gonna have to fight hard to keep her title. Bianca actually was relatively dominant early on, using her strength to take advantage and beat down Sasha at every turn, but Sasha began to use this against her, taking advantage of her desire to show off on the big stage to cut off big moves she would attempt. Most notable among these was when she used the hair against Belair multiple times, only for it to pay off beautifully in two places when Belair used it to pull her into the ring post and a hair whip so good it literally echoed throughout the arena. This match was great and I? m so glad that given the background of this match it delivered as much as it did. ****"

The emotion was palpable, the work was solid and had some legitimate "whoa" moments, all leading up to that cracking hair whip and the finish. History was watching, and Sasha and Bianca delivered."

[6.0] "One of those matches that I can't help but feel is getting so highly rated because of what it 'represents' rather than what it actually 'is'. This was a good match, no doubt, but I'm shocked at those 150+ ratings at 9/10 or even 10/10. All those 8/10 ratings confuse me quite a bit, too. Sasha hammed it up with her early heel work, thought she eventually laid back and became more natural and convincing with it as she became more aggressive, frantic, and desperate to put Bianace away. Bianca's arrogant showboating was pretty confusing, since she then felt like someone who was too narcissistic to take seriously as the underdog babyface. Bianca at least impressed me with her smooth movements and wild strength displays. Their chemistry was a bit average, since sometimes their run-on exchanges felt a bit sloppy or slow, but there were at least no moments that looked actively 'bad'. Bianca's ponytail gimmick has always felt extremely goofy to me, so none of those spots worked for me at all. It's basically an illegal weapon whenever Bianca uses it for her offence, and it should be illegal for her opponents to pull at her hair and use it as their own weapon, so I've never enjoyed any usage of the ponytail for how illogical it is. Bianca's "acting" when showing her disbelief at her near falls was completely over-the-top and made her come across as a crying toddler, which was another instance where she failed to come across as an endearing babyface. Their back-and-forth exchanges in the final minute were very good, but not enough to push the match higher. The Mania crowd helped carry this through the more mediocre moments, helping it to still be pretty good, though truly nothing I could consider 'great'. ***1/4"

Unlike the other marquee matchups like the Triple Threat or even Lashley/McIntyre, this comes across a lot more purposeful. I didn't notice it until watching their entrances, but Sasha Banks vs Bianca Belair has a certain Sting/Flair charm from the inaugural Clash of the Champions - this is where Belair has her star-making performance, and although she's consistently proved herself as deserving of big opportunities, Wrestlemania is a whole different ball game. It's not perfect; neither is as crisp as you know they can be and Belair still could work on looking less choreographed during certain spots, but she got a ton of shine here for just how athletic and endearing she is. Sasha also deserves credit as the Flair to her Sting. Some of her big matches in the last few years tend to suffer from being overly ambitious in what she can do, but here she reels it back and narrows in on the task at hand. Belair is given ample chances to show her stuff and only really has to work from behind whenever her hair is used against her. As such, it's only fitting that the climax comes with the cracking sound of her hair whip, shortly followed by an emphatic KO-D for the victory. Sometimes, WWE can get it right on the biggest stage. ****"

[9.0] "The main event was the clear match of the night: the few minor in ring flaws don't weigh heavy to me. 2 other things, which I want to address with the example of this match, do: First there is no subtlety at all in WWE. Everything has to be turned up to 200%. Everyone has to look like a comic character. Everyone has to overaccentuate their facial expressions etc. Second: One would think that would lead to distinguishable characters and in a way it does. But that is mostly achieved by the exaggerated looks. Concerning the wrestling style, the gestures and the timing WWE creates uniformity throughout their roster. Everyone has to be shocked after a kickout, everyone has to scream at the same occasions etc. After being emotionally overwhelmed before the match (which seemed authentic) the two seemed really secure once the in ring action started. They showed good harmony and spots which I haven't seen before often involving Bel Airs hair. That gimmick was heavily utilized, but not overutilized and didn't disturb the flow of the match, but rather made it more distinguishable. Could imagine that it becomes annoying if it is often that central in Bel Air matches. I wasn't that content with the winner, since I thought WWE gave away an opportunity to build up another long time classic rivalry with Bel Air coming again for Sasha in a second Wrestlemania main event in a few years. But given that in the feud leading to the match their chemistry was said not to have been that good, given that WWE often missed the moment to complete their pushes with star making moments and given that they are pretty much incapable of long term booking, it is probably the better choice after all. 9P for one of the best womens' matches I've seen and a deserved main event (on a level with the night 2 main event)."
[7.0] "Bianca was really good in this match. Walking upo the stairs carrying Sasha over her head was quite impressove. Another cool spot was that holding deadlift Brainbuster. 450 Splash as well. The thing that kind of ruined this match and left a bitter taste in my mouth was Michael Cole on commentary. He was doing so many mistakes there naming moves wrong and that godawful finish. Bianca won fair and square via 3 count and Michael Cole started screaming like crazy: "Kick out! A kickout by Sasha! ". After tonight's performance I would send this guy on well earned retirement and never put him on live show ever again."

I think there? s some superhero who might also have this power? Sasha Banks is a more familiar face, a member of the unofficial ? Four Horsewomen? group who are credited for spearheading WWE? s women? s division changing over from the ? divas? to something actually quite impressive. Sasha Banks is praised by some as the best member of the group, and while she has never quite hit me on that level, she is still definitely talented and is very over with the fans. The match was actually a blast, it was in fact the main event of day 1 (Wrestlemania was split into two days this year), and the emotion from both women to not only main event Wrestlemania as women but as also as people of color was not lost on anyone, a historic moment to be sure. I was most impressed here by Bianca, who really played well to her strengths, and towards the end of the match hit a braid whip that was so cracking loud I had to rewind and watch it twice! My only critique for her is that she fell into the WWE trap of overselling a 2 count, she scrambled across the ring like she saw a ghost. I wish that trope would die. That? s really the only thing I can say negatively about this though, Sasha worked it extremely well too and really hurled herself into all her offense, as well as pumping out some sweet counters and strategies. Very well done match, if only I thought they had the creative chops to follow it up with anything good? At any rate, I thought this was much better than the main event of night 2, just my personal opinion."
[8.0] "Sasha can be very slippery and botch so it was cool that she took a breath, calmed down and took it slow when the match called for it. Sasha led Bianca to a good match that I think may have been the best of Sasha's career. The hair whip spot is iconic and I think will be on video highlight packages for years to come. I would give this a 7 but for historical context of what this match means to african americans is really inspiring. I am glad they put this on last and they deserved it and delivered. Bianca is gonna be a big star and I could see her being a bigger star after WWE, she's got that kind of smile and charisma. Great stuff"
[6.0] "This was a really good main event. I still think that this should've been swapped with the opening bout because that felt hot and this didn't. Nevertheless, this was a solid match with some rather unique work using the hair. Sasha Banks used it for more leverage on her submissions, she used it as a defensive tactic and Bianca Belair used it to whip Sasha which was pretty insane. Bianca Belair was way over the top emotionally. This is a big moment for her and she didn't hide it one bit. Some toning down when it came to her reactions, especially when it came to the nearfall, was desperately needed. ***"

Great athleticism and power by Belair. Banks doing her "boss" type of demeanor. Overall, a good match. Belair winning is well-deserved. Kudos to these two women who really main evented Mania unlike the Ronda vs Charlotte vs Becky one that was so forced to make it a main event, LOL. ****"
[8.0] "great main event, I wasn't particularly a fan of this being announced as main event and it's nothing against the Bianca or Sasha it's the way this had been built was just a mid-card angle on Smackdown, I don't think any of their segments headlined Smackdown once in the lead up to this, yet it was the main event of the biggest show of the year? that said it more than delivered, was one of the best mania main events in years with both women delivering when it matters, Sasha is tremendous, they give her all these accolades about first womens hell in a cell, first womens last man standing etc.... but when she's at her best is when she gets to just go out there and have a big match in a normal 1v1 situation, her matches with Bayley in NXT will attest to this, and while I don't think this quite reached that level it was a great match and a worthy main event after all, also the hair whip Bianca gave Sasha at the end sounded like a gun going off was absolutely brutal and the marking on Sasha's mid section will attest to this too, great main event, and probably the best match on the show (****1/4)"

Didn't fall into the trap of some of these 'historic moment' matches where wrestlers will sometimes happily ride the wave of the crowd reaction to the detriment of the workrate. Bianca and Sasha put together a cohesive match story based around gameplans that made sense, spots that escalated logically, and ending before it felt too long. The hair whip spot is, for my money, a top 5 Wrestlemania spot. My only quibbles are that it could've peaked a bit earlier, and the way each wrestler reacted during their entrances tipped off who was winning before the bell even rang. 4 ½ stars."

You could nitpick the match a bit for maybe the flow of it and a bit of clunkiness, and I'd like it to have gone on a bit longer, but there were some really great creative spots and a great and deserved finish."

The build-up to the match was rough if existed in the first place, there was no real feud whatsoever (you expect that from the main event of such caliber show), the action itself was kind of clunky, junky, not cohesive, plain botchy at times, like that tree-of-woe at the end. Finishing sequence was "eh" and came too quickly to realize - that's a pinfall. Gratz to Bianca, but the whole prospect revealed to be meh at least to me and the match was just there. I wish i could rate this higher, but given the spot this match got i just simply cannot. **1/4"

It needed to be more like 25mins in my opinion to build the drama a little more, the end just felt too abrupt for Bianca to get that big babyface triumphant moment, it needed more struggle."

Apart from the meaning of this, with two black women main eventing in a singles match for the first time, the work delivered. There was an incredible pace, great counters, psychology and intensity. They really delivered in this main event spot with feats of strength from Bianca and crafty reversals + crazy bumps from Banks. They did their best, in spite of the horrible build they received and made the experience for everyone watching feel bigger than just a wrestling match. The ending was really exciting and unexpected, it is great to see Bianca as champion. Although Sasha is 0-6 at mania I feel that she chose to go out there and put Bianca over with a great performance. I'm so glad they got their main event spot and proved that no matter who you are, if you have the talent, you can be the biggest spectacle on the grandest stage of them all!"

A very nice match, Sasha double twirling DDT from the corner was great, the exchange to get into the KOD at the end was good. Overall a good match to end any Wrestlemania."

This being the main event makes Bianca Belair look like a big star than it would if it was the opener or in the middle of the show, so good decision by WWE."

[3.0] "When you lay it out, this was an excellent way to put over Bianca Belair, as the storytelling of the bout was on point. They put over Bianca's strength & athleticism over wonderfully; she really dominated a lot of the match with Sasha getting a big crafty counter here n' there, but it was always Bianca who got them bigger grooves going. It was one of those "you can't deny this title change" type deals. Sadly I didn't like the match much at all. I thought that Bianca's work was extremely uninteresting & the best bits were Sasha's big moments, but even most of those were just "there", and not anything REALLY-really compelling or interesting. Bianca's sell of the 450 kickout was also like the worst of Shawn Michaels' cheesy reactions, but even worse lol. The whole dancing routine finishing sequence also wasn't for me, but I did like the actual finish w/ Bianca's KOD putting a blunt end to things. Not a bad match, as while I didn't find it compelling, I can appreciate the strong storytelling, even if the actual action didn't hook me in at any point."

' WWE was clearly banking on the cultural significance of the match, and it was up to the women involved to actually make the match good, and they did a good job. Sasha is a true wily veteran, but she does too much visual and audible communication. Bianca has all the makings of a cornerstone performer, but you could tell she was the Batista to Sasha's HHH. I would definitely watch a rematch that was given the appropriate buildup."

This was a great match, and an incredible crowning moment for Bianca Belair, with Sasha Banks in Brooklyn 2015 mode... but this wasn't quite Brooklyn 2015, and Bianca wasn't as good as Bayley was that night. That, plus the match needing another 5 minutes, stops it just short of full marks, but still an incredible performance in a huge spot for two phenomenal athletes."

Maybe my expectations were too high because of how Sasha gets down in big matches but it just felt like they were doing moves (even though a story was there) and was a bit clunky at times. I am happy with the winner though because Bianca is ridiculously likeable. Definitely the best women? s match to happen at WM topping the Sasha-Charlotte-Becky triple threat but I was expecting epic."

Bianca Belair did not feel out of place in the mainevent, and that's a hige notch on her belt. Sasha's heat segment was great, particularly her use of Belair's braid as a weapon, which Belair used herself during her comeback! On the Belair comeback, I feel like it was a little too short, and could have used a brief cut-off into another short bit of heat. Just 7-8 extra minutes, you know. As it was, I enjoyed this match, and Bianca's big moment probably couldn't have gone over any better even had the match been greater. ***¾"

I wish they'd slowed things down at certain points to make it a bit more technical, that's my main issue with the match. But personal preference aside, I can understand people rating this match very high. Definitely the best women's Mania match."
[9.0] "I entered this match with really low expectations due to the botched story leading up to this. But god dang did these girls hit it out of the park. This was awesome. It had a perfect pacing, a perfect story, perfect psychology, and great reversals. The story of Bianca's hair being used against her, until she finally snapped and use it as a weapon, was entertaining and really fun too. This deserved the Main Event of WrestleMania."
[10.0] "Awesome main event. A lackluster build but the match delivered in the way you'd hope. This had a fantastic in ring storytelling, very basic, but they built up the hair all match for that incredible hair whip pay off. Its the simplest thing you can do in a match and they executed it perfectly. Both women really showed out and built a really well paced match with a fitting conclusion. Tremendous main event ****1/2"

For instance, Bianca's hair being one of the driving factors of the match was very unique. The final sequence was insane. I swear, I have no idea how that hair whip makes such a loud crack. Right women won at the right time and I'm excited to see where they both go after this."

Britt Baker vs Thunder Rosa was far less technically sound but was gritty and felt truly chaotic as a recent women's match I thought was a lot better. Utami Hayashishita vs Bea Priestley in Stardom had the same feel and was also a lot better to me. The ending also seemed botched based on the commentary."
[9.0] "This was a great match where Sasha went all out for Bianca and Bianca's strength was outstanding here. Sasha tried to use Bianca's braid to gain advantage but that went so wrong for her at the end. Bianca's first 450 that she did was the stuff that will be on video packages for the rest of history for the WWE."
[7.0] "The right choice to have Bianca win and dominate most of the match. Really good stuff from both. They left enough for them to kick it up a gear in a rematch too."
[9.0] "Nothing crazy happened in this match, but they did a great job telling the story and that went a long way. Hell, even their outfits told part of the story. Sasha just had that look of a villain, and they had some really nice sequences during the match. Bianca showed the athleticism and both showed the proper emotion for the story, although I would have preferred if Bianca was a bit more composed. I didn? t like how when she went for the cover that won her the match, she gave away that she was winning. The way she pinned Sasha and jumped on her was just too obvious for me."
