119.04.2024HugoRoids9.0Im genuinely convinced that WALTER is allergic to bad matches. This man wrestled like his life depends on it. This was spectacular. Brutal and stiff throughout, and some fantastic spots with the announce table being chopped nearly in half, and the clotheslines from Ciampa. Neither mans best match, but definitely a career highlight for both men.

905.02.2024ShaliK9.0A big brawl. Chops, clothelines... A very violent match, especially at the start. Ciampa even loses a tooth following a Big Boot. It was a great match. (4*1/2)

2228.10.2023TSwifty7.0Good match but way overrated, WALTER's awesome and I like Ciampa so this match looked super interesting on paper. Ciampa matched WALTER's offense and got to go 50/50 with him the whole way through. He targets WALTER's hand (which is done almost every WALTER match) to hinder his chops and use his own instead. WALTER sold the hand well for the most part but we'll get to the finish soon. WALTER's strikes and moves weren't incredible like others have claimed but they were still impressive. I really didn't like that sequence where Ciampa hit 23 lariats in a row, but besides that all of their exchanges were good. It didn't feel like they ever kicked it into next gear or reach greater heights. That could be blamed on NXT's garbage formula of going 75% right from the start of the match. The finish wasn't very good in my opinion. WALTER disregards his selling to land a 'devastating' chop to end the match but the chop didn't look that great anyway. After all, he did hit Ciampa with several stronger moves and chops earlier in the match. ***1/2
2322.10.2023Zlatkii6.0I like the style of the match, rough & aggressive, but it is missing big moments. I just feel like there could have been another level to this contest than what was delivered, like the contest could have had some augmentation of something, more throws maybe? But, what is here is enjoyable, just nothing re-watch worthy. There is definite effort in this contest, but that intangible - what it is idk - is missing.

3404.07.2023lukasmgc7.0This match was okay but it didn't meet my expectations. I don't know what it was I just thought they could've done better in this one. Yes it was hard hitting but it wasn't anything to special. It was just a good hard hitting bout but as I said I expected more and the finish was a bit bland but it made Ciampa look like a beast. I wouldn't say this is one for the ages or one you could go out of your way to see.

4922.02.2023Jman79.0This was a fantastic match. Both Ciampa and WALTER gave awesome performances here. Ciampa's work on WALTER's hand and his selling of it was really great. I loved WALTER chopping through the top of the announcers table, and I also loved WALTER ending the match with a chop. ****1/2
5016.02.2023Fillosetti9.0I started drooling as soon as I discovered this match, and I wasn't disappointed. It was a fantastic match, full of hard hits and painful chops, but we could not expect anything else from these two but a match of the highest level

7304.06.2022jamzell007.0I haven't watched a "real" wwe match in ages so getting the negatives out first. The commentary is abysmal and takes away from the match as it just turns into a shouting match between 3 people. Nobody added anything to the match. Hated it. Also WALTER of all people working from behind? Really? Even outside of the WWE it took special circumstances for anyone to buy it and I didnt buy it here. Outside of those this was fantastic. Ciampa is always good in these types of matches and it just so happens to be the style WALTER works. Their work and effort almost overcame the weird choices for me. Both guys beat the shit out of each other and WALTER always sells his hand really well when it's targeted and focused on in matches. Ciampa had great fire here too and had the crowd convinced he could end the reign of WALTER but he shut that shit down asap. A better finish would have put this over the top for me but its still a very very good match. ***3/4

8523.01.2022kale5.0One of Earth's greatest mysteries is how Triple H ever constructed the concept of WALTER being the underdog in this match. Which he is. I don't care what anyone will say, WALTER was built as the underdog. He had his arm targeted, and was the only guy here who was ever actually in any real danger. I ask of you, when was there a point in this match where Ciampa legitimately looked in trouble. The Lariat, maybe. Nah, he hit a top rope Air Raid Crash soon after that. The Powerbombs, maybe. Nope, he kicked out, and was in control of the match long before WALTER even hit them. Look at the moves just before the last Powerbomb, Ciampa literally bridges out of a pin. This guy, who is supposed to be up against the most brutal, most dominant Champion WWE has had in decades, just bridged out of a pinfall attempt. He hits what, 20 lariats consecutively, right. Is that supposed to show Ciampa overcoming the odds and reaching his second gear or something, because it doesn't work. WALTER hits one chop, which he no sells, and the match continues as if those lariats never happened. You could remove every lariat in that sequence, and the match wouldn't have changed at all. It would've been exactly the same. In fact, it would've been better, since that way Ciampa wouldn't no-sell the move that ultimately beat him to win the match. Which, we have to admit, is one of the dumbest match endings WALTER has ever been a part of. He wins with a chop. I get that they try to make the chop look like this beast killer, breaking the table and killing Ciampa on the build up, but his arm is worked literally the entire match. Ciampa powers through a lariat, that's how bad his arm is hurt. You know the move that beat Tyler Bate after 40 minutes, Ciampa runs through that like it's nothing and then counters another one four seconds later. Then he no-sells the actual chop, which means that clearly it has no affect. WALTER literally loses a chop battle against Ciampa here, why would that one singular chop be the final nail in the coffin after the entire match is built around WALTER's arms being proven to be futile. Ciampa is not a rough veteran fighting through the brutality of war, he's a super soldier that is never in danger. WALTER is not a commanding general striking his opponents down with well timed blows, he's a loser with a broken arm. And yet, despite this, the loser wins. It's terrible and does nothing for WALTER or even Ciampa, he just looks unstoppable and unbreakable, and then loses to a move that negates all the work he did the whole match.

9129.12.2021robrob776.0I dont know, I expected more but this turned out to be a predictable match, it was goodof course but nowhere near my expectations.

9325.12.2021CoolKyle8.0Ciampa was clearly outmatched physically in this intense battle of wills, but he used every tactic in his book, particularly wearing down the hand of The Ring General. The way the match slowly got out of hand for The Blackheart sold a story so much different from anything else on this card

9621.11.2021Zakaria Guigui9.0As expected that was a hell of brutal contest with chops and savageness prevailing ! Ciampa was one of the toughest challengers Walter ever had faced, I remember enjoying so much the performances from both with the hella nearfalls !
9721.11.2021TigerDiver10.0I thought this was absolutely spectacular. The best match of both nights for my money. A nearly flawless WAR between WALTER and Ciampa here that nearly reach the full-five, merely falling short due to lacking that little something to it, but it's totally worthy of a ten rating here anyhow. I LOVED Ciampa going after WALTER's hand/arm to prevent his strongest arsenal - the chop - from being used successfully. And it set a unique yet fantastic tone to the bout amazingly. An easy MOTYC here, even though it's not going to end up very high on anyone's list. [****3/4]

9909.11.202143gl041st [9.0] "Probably the best match of this two-day takeover (O'reilly vs Cole was good too). Great strong-style by both of these wrestlers. I really like spot with a lot of clotheslines by Ciampa. The ending was strange (Ciampa kicks-out after 2 powerbombs, but doesn't kick after after chop), but ok. I really believed that Ciampa can win the title to face with Dragunov later. But WALTER retained his title and it was great decision. Just another amazing title defense by WALTER. Not Top-100 for me.
