[6.0] "Unique match as it takes place in a random pub with a couple people or so and contains a botch that causes the match to end early. However Danielson manages to actually turn the match into something interesting rather than just leaving and puts ZSJ as a result. Other than that the match is pretty solid, just nothing to really stick out."

[10.0] "Ah 2008, when Danielson was by a pretty comfortable margin the best wrestler in the world and Zack Sabre Jr was a 21 year old stick figure. Why wouldn't they face each other in front of a crowd of maybe 30 people in a tiny little UK venue on a card with nobody else you've ever possibly heard of? It's beyond weird that this match exists but I'm glad it does, because it's actually extremely fun. It's like 90% the Danielson show but part of what makes him so great is he understands how to work different kind of opponents. Here he's facing a skinny rookie who shows some potential, so he mostly dominates the match and beats the living piss out of Sabre, but he also knows precisely when to show overconfidence and let Sabre get his shots in, and when to go on the defense to keep the crowd (such as it is) involved. There are a lot of things in this match that on paper don't seem to work, for example the match is originally booked as 1 fall and Bryan very suddenly very clearly pins Sabre about 2/3rds of the way through. It immediately feels off and I can only suspect perhaps the referee made a mistake? The fans pick up on the weirdness and urge the match to continue. Seemingly Bryan calls and audible and singles out a young fan wearing his t-shirt, letting her decide if the match will continue. It does and we get the resulting 2/3 falls stip, one of which Sabre even wins. Like I said it's messy on paper but the way Danielson carries it through on the mic and the weird charm of a tiny shabby indie doing its best somehow makes it all work. I'll say this for those lucky few fans, they certainly saw a great show. Also this is the first time I ever heard an "England" chant, for all the times I've heard "USA" over the years. I highly suspect this match had an influence on Sabre, if nothing else looking back on the beating he took probably helped give him his current bad attitude."

[7.0] "This is a lovely little time capsule of a match. ZSJ had started to get some hype on the British indie scene so was booked against a Danielson who had already achieved more than most would in their careers. This is in a tiny pub in Coventry and there can not be more than 50 people in attendance who are all very behind Sabre Jr which makes for a nice partisan atmosphere. It looks and feels like a man vs boy in there. Danielson is so much better than Zack in every possible way and leads every single second of this match. They recover pretty well from the botched pin fall and improvise a decent extra five minutes. Fun fact, the terrified looking referee is the future (now very cancelled) Damien Dunne,"

Sabre is smooth when it comes to submissions, but a bit unsure with his striking. It's clear that Sabre is very inexperienced even though he's super over. For most of the match, Dragon dominates Sabre much in the same way Sabre would dominate so many of his opponents later on, which is cool to see. However, the weird "multi-finishes" kinda took me out of it, despite Danielson doing his best to save the match. Coulda been a lot better if not for the weird botch."

[6.0] "One of many feathers in Bryan's cap comes from the botched finish here. His improvisation and ability to adapt on the fly is, in many ways, more impressive than the match itself. After a tight pin on Zack leaves the dozens of fans in attendance confused and deflated, Bryan decides to stick around and wrestle to another couple falls. He was already a seasoned pro on the indie circuit for years and could've left it there after 20 or so minutes on a random freelance show, but he chose to stay and even gave a young, inexperienced Zack Sabre Jr. a pinfall victory over him. If you want to talk about wrestlers who're very "giving" in their work, this alone should put Bryan in that conversation. ***"

Must See für Fans beider. **** 1/4"

I definitely wasn't disappointed; Bryan Danielson & Zack Sabre, Jr. put on a technical wrestling clinic in front of maybe 30 or 40 fans. ZSJ was really solid in it, he was not as great as he is today in 2016, but he was solid - Dragon was on another level though, legitimately the greatest wrestler of all-time in my eyes, and his performance in this was outstanding. Just masterful crowd control & in ring work. Amazing, must see match! ****1/2"
