[7.0] "For some goofball reason, on the WWE Network/Peacock Sting's entrance music is overdubbed yet on the World Championship Wrestling episode that used this as an intro bumper...the music is left intact. Sting was the hottest wrestler in Crockett at this point, so here's Dusty Rhodes to piggyba-LEECH off of his popularity. I will never know why Rhodes didn't strike while the iron was hot after Clash 1 and I...oh, oh right. I know why. EGO. Anyway, onto the match: Sting starts hot, The Horsemen have no answer for his offense, a tag is made and the crowd erupts for Rhodes. Dusty goes for his lousy looking Figure Four Leg Lock and with a Raking of the Eyes by Arn Anderson, the momentum goes the way of The Horsemen. The Dream slowly comes back and we get the best possible camera angle for his Dropkick: The view is obstructed by Tully Blanchard's back. If my sense of humor goes right over your head, Dusty had a crappy Dropkick. Sting is now tagged in and he's running roughshod over Blanchard, Arn goads Sting just enough to bring action to the outside where Anderson swiftly takes advantage. It all happens quicker than I can type it and it all looks great. From here Anderson takes control until a Vader Bomb misses, it's not enough though as Anderson is the one who makes a tag. Horsemen in certain control and we even see a DDT on the concrete to The Stinger (it was squandered though). Tully now working over Sting, who eventually comes up with a Hot Shot, an excellent display of ring presence! Anderson is in now and he accidentally pushes Sting into a very warm tag to Big Dust. Every Horseman gets an Elbow (including Dillon) and Dusty delivers his poor DDT as well. Rhodes plants an Elbow Drop (it looked great) to Anderson but Blanchard breaks up the count. Sting in to counteract Blanchard's involvement and OOPS, he also throws down Teddy Long. Since Long is THE ONLY REFEREE tonight, he is also thrown down by Rhodes (ever so gently). Here's Barry Windham, suit, tie, and crummy Claw Hold on Rhodes in tow. Rather good stuff actually, even the chaotic ending worked for me. 7.25"

The main issue was the non-finish, which was inevitable because you can't job Sting after Clash 1 and you can't job Dusty in Florida. They'd painted themselves into a corner. Unlike Clash 1, this whole show didn't feel that special or energetic but this was a decent match at least."

Why he had to constantly position himself with whoever the new flavor of the week was has always confused me because he was already so over with the crowd. First, it was Magnum TA, then Nikita Koloff, and now Sting. It's like he was scared to be out of the spotlight. But this match was fine for what it was..."

I won't lie, I'd expect more from Arn and Tully against Sting and Dusty, and while it's far from bad, it's just kind of mild. Good crowd investment, but it's short and not a lot to really sink your teeth into."

Arn and Tully are at their best and Dusty couldn't be more popular, and neither could a young Sting for that matter who was shown in his best light. The non-finish may put some off but still, this is a great one."
