412.02.2024Bluboy917.0***1/4 (6.5/10) Initially, for in ring work I rated the match ****1/4 and if it had been 7-10 minutes shorter than that rating may have stuck. Far from a terrible performance, just a tad too long, and faint shades of their great matches from before. Some of the low ratings to this match seem perplexing to me. Part of it, I Believe, has to do with the company being a monopoly during the time of this match

1004.11.2023Cyclone853.0Some decent signs of respect and brawling at times and j even liked some of the near falls, but this was pretty boring and like 10 minutes too long. It felt like a sad, drawn out swan song and, for the most part, that's what it was. I wasn't a fan of most Austin matches or Taker matches in this era.

1411.09.2023Derek Joists2.0Well this was pretty awful. Austin was only a few matches from retirement and Taker wasn't going to carry anyone to a great match at this point even if he could still entertain with the right opponent. Flair as special guest ref was probably the best thing here, but even then it was a clash of styles with the two wrestlers and didn't work. A slow, plodding match with no real high points and much of it poorly executed.

2123.06.2023Fillosetti3.0Stone Cold and Undertaker had already faced each other a thousand times, so another match without even a special stipulation didn't excite me at all, and with good reason. It's a terrible match, and it's everything I wouldn't expect from a match between Stone Cold and Undertaker: it's empty, it's bloody boring, it's slow, there's not the slightest pathos, there are no moments to remember, there's no tension, it's not fun, it's not entertaining, there's nothing in this match. Ric Flair's refereeing is anonymous and does nothing to attract attention or to make this match memorable at all: he doesn't do anything for the arrival of the NWO, he doesn't notice the exposed corner of the ring, and above all he was the protagonist of a moment that really annoyed me; A Ref Bump occurs during the match and Flair is downed for a certain amount of time, but this doesn't make sense. Usually this thing works because it is implied that the referees are not used to absorbing the moves like a wrestler does, and therefore the Ref Bumps are credible. But Ric Flair IS a wrestler, and therefore should be able to absorbe a move like that. A disaster of a match, to be avoided in all ways
2216.06.2023Scott Bailey2.0An incredibly boring match. It just never gets out of first gear. The first few minutes are full of taunts and mind games, which I wouldn't have minded if we ended up with an explosive match, but it just continues to go at a snails pace and goes on for far too long. The nWo show up mid match but just stand there doing nothing so that's pointless. One of the worst things about this match for me was Ric Flair selling a ref bump like a regular referee! Just one month before this he was in a no holds barred fight with the Undertaker and bled all over the place, and now we're expected to believe he's knocked out after a weak collision? The finish looks awful too because it clearly looks like he should be able to see Austin's foot on the rope before he makes the count! (In fairness this was actually addressed on the next episode of Raw where they showed the finish from a different angle, but I still hate this match)

2622.04.2023cibar125.0Mediocore fight, expected more from those 2. Main issue is long time of this bout, 27 mins is to long. And dont really like Taker biker gimmick, fell like it is worst part of deadman's career

3112.02.2023Sertay52.0That was one of the most boring matches ever. Nothing happened in the match. Absolutely nothing. The nWo showed up for doing what? Nothing? I really don't understand why they made this match 30 minute long. I got bored in first 2.

3416.10.2022Giantfan19803.0Winner gets a title shot at Judgement Day 02. Pretty boring match. Austin is getting REALLY close to saying "Screw it, Ive had enough" and Taker was getting stale (staler? ) at this time. Slow start with the with headlocks and looking at each other. Austin wants a test of strength but they don't do it. Taker overpowers him, and Austin gets a hip toss and arm drag. Taker clothesline for 2. Rope walk gets 2 for Taker. Thez press and FU elbow for 2. Brawl outside and back in. They head over to the announce table and Austin bounces Takers face off it. He walks into a boot soon enough. They fight into the crowd and punch each other. Taker preps the timekeepers table and Austin uses it on him. Austin tries the pile driver that never works. nWo wander out and do absolutely NOTHING. Then they leave. Austin to the stairs Taker attacks the neck. Taker ddt gets 2 and he hits the chin lock, Austin tries a sleeper, but gets backdrop suplexed. Austin tries the stunner, but gets clothes lined for 2. Austin punches back and the crowd wakes up to do the "what chant" back in 2002 when the chant made sense. Taker clothesline stops it. Flair gets knocked down and almost unconscious from a standard shoulder block. Now who can buy that? Stunner but no ref. Taker low blows and fetches a chair but Flair grabs it and Austin low blows and grabs it. In the shuffle, Taker gets off a chair shot for 2. Austin reverses the dragon sleeper into a clothesline for 2. He goes for his own, but UT escapes and goes for the chair again. They fight for the chair. Austin gets it, then Taker boots it back in his face and pins him but Flair doesn't see Austin's leg on the ropes. A sucky match between two guys past their prime and neither cares at this time in history.
3504.10.2022TheOneAndOnlyCactus2.0You know what? The start of the match was very fun, and they didn't need to do that much either. The nWo showed up and did... nothing. Cheers Geoff. Look, the second part of the match can only be described as a slow, plodding, sloppy mess that should not have come even close to the 30 minute mark. The overbooking didn't help either. The ref bump for a wrestler is always so silly, Taker kicked a chair in Austin? s face, Austin got his feet on the ropes but Flair didn't see it for the pin so Taker got the W.

4110.01.2022Minorsmile092.0Oh look, another boring match on this show. What a shocker. These two should've been having classic matches, but for some reason they just never did, except at Summer Slam '98. This dragged BAD, looked sloppy, had your usual overbooked screwery, nothing really worked here.
4224.10.2021TigerDiver4.0Slow, plodding, sloppy match that had no right to go for nearly half an hour at all. The overbooking didn't help, instead make things worse. I mean it's not entirely terrible like some have said, though that's still a far cry from a compliment anyway. [**]

4617.07.2021BuddySchultz4.0Starts off strong with Attitude Era-style brawling, but such an approach could never suit a 27-minute length. The match gets incredible tedious, Austin couldn't go like he did the previous year, the nWo come out and just stand there for a while, and there's a silly, 'controversial' finish.
4718.06.2021pierreMinne1.0This match was absolutely horrible. I feel like litterally nothing happened, Undertaker and Austin were incredibly sloppy in this match, we had refbumps that bothered me and that were useless, and the finish was absolutely awful. This was incredibly boring and too long. 0. 25 stars.
4812.06.2021wewantpunk3.0Ich mag den Taker. Ich mag Austin. Hier stimmte aber nur der Anfang und das selling. Der Rest war zu lang, zu zäh und die Endphase einschläfernd.
4924.10.2020KinchStalker3.0Hoo boy, this was rough. Taker wasn't too bad for what he was meant to do, at least at first, but Austin was slumming it, and slumming it hard. Eventually Taker stops trying too, but honestly I can't blame him. This felt plodding and meaningless. Even by the standards of this pairing, which IMO never really lived up to its potential, this was disappointing. I'll go *1/2, but I can't blame anybody for going lower.
