The main draw is whenever Robinson is in the ring, particularly for me when he punks out the young Tenryu by getting him to fall out of the ring twice in a row which was very funny but also smart stuff from the veteran. Tsuruta was good too, Irwin I think I enjoy despite being clearly very rough around the edges, he has a certain terrible amateurish charm in his wobbled selling, and even does some decent stuff like a good takedown on Tsuruta. 6/10. |

Anyway, the first four minutes of the first fall were clipped in the contemporaneous broadcast. Young Tenryu looks good here, and Jumbo/Robinson, fresh off a time-limit draw for the former's United National title, is definitely a good matchup to build a mid-tour tag match around. Like in the 1/3 match with Hata in Jumbo's place, Irwin's work isn't as smooth as the others but I find the contrast effective. *** |
