[5.0] "The backstage politics that surrounded this match makes it kind of hard to watch, and yes Jobbing out DDP and Kanyon was fucking stupid as hell and short sided. But in ring wise this was fine. Like yeah it cost WWF a shit ton of money and wasn't fair at all to the future WWE Hall of famer DDP (not to mention on how Kanyon was treated by Undertaker and the rest of the locker room for being gay, as a queer individual I will not ignore this.) But I will pull the "Besides all of that how as the play Ms Lincon? " and say if you didn't know all of that you might even enjoy this match so I'm just going to give a 5/10 for the match quality. Though I really don't blame anyone for rating this lower for the backstage stuff."

[2.0] "In the midst of the war between the Alliance and the WWF in 2001, Undertaker had only one goal: to bury DDP. He spent his entire summer beating up the former multiple WCW champion for daring to tell him that he would like to have a match of his own way, with well-defined moments and spots, rather than Taker's way. A match that went into infamy simply because of the way Diamond Dallas Page, but also Kanyon were treated by WWE, the steel cage clash between these two superstars and the Brothers of Destruction was as one-sided as it gets, and would remain the most infamous extended squash in SummerSlam history until 2014. A 10 minute squash where the heels got humiliated and never got a chance to respond, DDP and Chris Kanyon will never get over in WWE. Besides the obvious burial of DDP, this is just awful booking with poor match structure. A great match should be suspenseful, a great match should have twists and surprises that keep the viewer on their toes. This match was a foregone conclusion with two guys lazily beating a guy."

Kane hits and ugly power bomb on Kanyon into one corner of the cage wall and it sure sounded like his head hitting the post. Aside from some desperation heel offense it's all downhill for DDP's career tonight. Taker and Kane do the zombie sit up and stop the heels from escaping but Taker tells Kane to let Kanyon run away. Kanyon escapes and leaves Page to get annihilated and pinned by Taker. This wasn't even the end of the feud. That came the following night when Taker beat Page up, which let his wife Sara pin him in their intergender match on Raw. I'm bitter how far Page has fallen since 1998. Thankfully Page was able to adapt outside the ring and become a true patron saint of pro wrestlers in need of help."

[1.0] "I don't really like using the term "burial", but theres no other way to describe this match. DDP looked weak at every turn in this feud and was not helped by the ridiculous stalker gimmick. It's a painfully one sided match where the heel team get little to no offense in and unsurprisingly DDP would fall further down the card after this, which is not good when you consider he was one of the biggest WCW signings in a big Invasion angle. A total waste of time."

A boring match with the brothers of destruction having no chemistry with the competitors that becomes almost unwatchable when you realize that this should have been at most a 4-minute squash with DDP and Taker."

[1.0] "I don't know what DDP did (in real life, not in kayfabe) to infuriate The Undertaker, but it seemed like Taker was determined to completely bury him at every opportunity in the summer of 2001. Page was one of the most over guys in WCW during its peak and got an insanely huge pop when he made his surprise WWF debut, but by the time the feud was over, Taker had killed all his heat and Page was relegated to being a lower midcarder thanks to matches like this. Throughout the course of the match, the heels never have the advantage and never feel like a serious threat. I don't think DDP got more than one offensive move in on The Undertaker. To add insult to injury, the faces purposely allow Kanyon to escape the cage so that they can double-team Page and beat him up for a couple of minutes before easily picking up the win. Besides the obvious burial of DDP, it's just awful booking with poor match structure. A great match should be suspenseful, a great match should have twists and surprises that keep the viewer on the edge of their seat. This match was a foregone conclusion with two guys lazily beating up one guy. Also, why are the faces double-teaming and outnumbering the heel?"

[3.0] "It was a glorified squash match to put an end to this storyline that wasn't working. Page and Kanyon barely got any offense. It could have been more effective if it was five minutes shorter too. Not good *1/4"
