Pretty obvious that either Taker or Batista was winning this match, so it was smart to leave them until the end, but I disliked the formula for Viscera and Khali. They both came in, dominated, and then got their table turned and got eliminated conveniently right in time for the next man to come in. MVP also didn't really have much of a showing, but his elimination was special. Finlay was really the only other one who had a decent showing, but you knew he wasn't winning. In matches like this where it's so obvious who isn't winning, it takes drama away. Batista and Taker did a decent job at the end, and the finish was very creative. The match was maybe a bit better than expected considering how much fodder was in it, but I wouldn't call it great, either. Definitely entertaining, and a watch that will keep you engaged, but also not one you'll really remember besides a highlight or two after the fact. |

It is a bit slow in the early going, but there was a clear story that was playing out at all times, and the tension consistently escalated until a pretty awesome finale that had the crowd fully engaged. The last few minutes had a couple of brutal spots that stood out even more because of the slower paced beginning, and Undertaker and Batista's selling out over the grueling nature of the match. The finish was pretty awesome, too. The match won't be for everybody, but I got everything that I was looking for. |

This was built around Taker vs Batista. I think they milked all they could out of that feud and this is just an extra milk. They kicked off the match as the first two people in the ring. They took care of Big Daddy V and Khali with ease. It was too easy imo but that? s a different story. And they finished it. It revolved around them. Finlay and MVP added some much needed difference to all the big man bombs that was a chore to get through. MVP isn? t great but him being a chickenshit and not wanting to get in the ring, blocking off the pod was great. And he took a big bump off the pod for a great elimination. Finlay was solid and bumped for everyone. Him getting chokeslammed on the chamber floor was gnarly. I liked the actual finish with the Tombstone transition from the outside but the grand stand off didn? t really do much to peak my interest. There were some decent things but this is one of the more uneventful EC matches. **1/2 |

Batista und Undertaker fangen sie an, müssen sich derweil mit den lästigen Gegnern Big Daddy V, Great Khali, Finlay und MVP herumschlagen, die allesamt auf ihre besondere Art gut eingebracht wurden und gefährlich wirkten, und beenden das Match schließlich in einer grandiosen Schlusssequenz. Dabei gibt es nicht nur einen der besten Konter, die ich jemals gesehen habe, sondern auch perfektes Stamina Selling von den beiden. Undertaker eliminierte hier de facto jeden Gegner durch seine Aktionen, sei es ein starker DDT gegen V, ein harter Chokeslam auf den Stahl gegen Finlay, der damals neue Hells Gate gegen Khali oder ein Chokeslam von der Decke einer der Kammern. Ein starker und harter Fight mit Struggle und großer Glaubwürdigkeit verdient eine starke Bewertung. Zwischen 9 und 10 Punkten für mich. |

The Great Khali and Big Daddy V are 2 of my least favorite wrestlers of all time so naturally, that doesn't help, nor does the fact that the other elimination chamber match later in the night is my personal favorite one atm and makes this look even worse in comparison. I have no idea why this existed when you could have told the one interesting thing going on here which was taker and Batista and turned it into a straightforward match, but that's WWE for ya, making vastly inferior versions of the same match concept that was done way better on the same card. They regrettably will never change. |

Big Daddy V and Khali were there only for 2 or 3 domination spots before getting eliminated. MVP felt like he was there only for his big spot from the pod, kind of a waste for the US Champion. Finlay was the one that brough something. I felt like he used the structure of the chamber more than the others, and it was good. The final spot was also really great. In the end, it felt like a single match between Taker and Batista, with the occasional interference from a third party. Kind of a waste for an Elimination Chamber |
