2 | 05.03.2024 | TSwifty | 10.0 | Great match. SHO looked incredible here. I loved how much they played off their first match with SHO immediately bringing the fight to Shingo in the first minute with some brutal lariats. He didn't let Shingo stay on top and instead worked Shingo's arm with some nasty kicks and submissions. SHO's striking was just extra snug this time around. He laid it all in. Shingo would get his amazing offense in as well and they'd have some tremendous exchanges but he was never able to dominate SHO like he did in their last match. The selling by both men was great especially Shingo when he sold the damage of the arm. The finishing stretch had some awesome big bombs and nearfalls until SHO locked in a submission and hit two clean looking Shock-Arrows. I think this match was even better than their BOSJ match because of the pace and the length. This match told a nice story of SHO using his own power and skill to get the biggest win of his career over his rival. ****3/4 |

14 | 19.03.2023 | CFOS | 9.0 | THAT MATCH ! SHO did an awesome armwork on Shingo's right arm, the selling was awesome. But overall the match was a big slugfest with SHO throwing some crazy elbows and lariats and Shingo was fantastic by doing the same. Two beast working in an empty Korakuen. Amazing. ****1/2 |

24 | 12.09.2021 | Oregano Jackson | 7.0 | A fantastic match. Truly one of NJPW's best of 2020, and that's primarily because they do simple shit (and do it well). SHO works the right arm to nullify Shingo's lariats and Shingo as usual is really consistent with the selling. The pacing is excellent, never once did the action drag, and they really got me with the finishing stretch. |

39 | 29.08.2020 | staticblues | 8.0 | Shingo Takagi has lowkey become New Japan? s MVP. Always reliable to bring amazing matches regardless of opponent, Shingo has perfected the New Japan Strong Style formula. I certainly hope he wins the G1 this year. SHO has also become an amazing, versatile wrestler. He? s starting to pick up from where KUSHIDA left off. |

57 | 02.07.2020 | IceAgeComingSA | 6.0 | This wasn't anything special; and a big jump down from their match the previous year. Perhaps a big factor was heightened expectations because of that; perhaps its because this is the sort of match that really needs a crowd to add to the atmosphere but while I enjoyed this, its not the sort of match that I'll remember for very long. The finishing stretch was very good though; and SHO getting the big win helps in his rise up New Japan. |

76 | 26.06.2020 | jboyaquar | 7.0 | Perhaps the most fluid singles bout of the NJ Cup thus far, I still can't place this above Des/Ishii & Suzuki/Nagata in that this bout's spiritual manifestation remained, for me, in the lesser 'American-indie' style. Compare Sho's (admittedly winning) babyface to that of Mochizuki in his great match with Takagi in Nov '15. Certainly Sho is younger, but with Mochi the match transcended into a fight whereas with this it was always a pro-wrestling match. Notwithstanding, this is a very good culmination of a year-plus storyline, and I bought into one of the nearfalls (cl after 'Last Falconry, ') though again, in the Des/Ishii match I bought four & that too had effective ligament work. I have all three in-or-around 3 1/2, but perhaps my favorite is still Des/Ishii because they had me believing in the upset that wasn't happening whereas outside a single nearfall in this, there wasn't as much high-quality manipulation. |
