There is no fucking way this was scripted LMFAO. It was just 15-minutes of one guy dropping the other on his head with Suplexes, Bombs and Slams and it ruled so fucking much. I would have honestly given it a 8.0 if it was not the Vince Russo interferences, this guy is just not charismatic, it is not a good heat, it is a go-away heat and yeah, he tried to fuck the match up. Fortunately, it was so beast, stiff and heated that it was impossible to not fucking rule. |

Vince Russo feeling the need to stick his nose in what might potentially be a MOTYC was extremely unnecessary, but at least it gave us the classic story of Goldberg trying to overcome the odds, only to fall short in the end. Overbooking aside, this was a great, stiff, energetic brawl full of intense power struggles between two burly hosses. It was easily one of the few bright spots of WCW in that disastrous year. Russo, to quote the guys from the Deadlock Podcast, is "built like a slap nut" and rips his shirt off like he won the match even though he didn't do jacks*** but hit Goldberg with an obviously plastic or foam bat with absolutely no force. Midajah looked nervous and like she was just permanently frozen in place so that she wouldn't miss her interference cues. The match is a mess. Idk how Steiner could walk after the spot where Goldberg just dropped him like a sack of rocks, let alone then proceed to shoot on Goldberg for about 5 mins, but hey, life is full of happy accidents, am I right? |

Goldberg managed to pull out some cool counters that changed the momentum of the match. The Russo interference got tiresome quick, but I suppose it could be much more offensive considering some of the horrendous stuff that WCW put out during its final full year. |

Irgendwie wirkte es, wie zuvor schon einmal geschireben wurde, wie eine Strafe für Goldberg. Hier sah wirklich nicht wie der uns so bekannte aus. Trotzdem gutes Match, aber das WON Rating ist mir doch etwas zu hoch. Trotzdem ein WCWMotYC. |
