[9.0] "[4.75*] Two of the best tags in NXT history in their only match facing each other at Worlds Colide was a great moment. The match was a great technical duel, DIY dominated the first half of the match, Ciampa and Gargano have a lot of chemistry. The DIY sequence was impeccable, one of the best tag jobs of their career. The moment of Gargano and Ciampa's double submission and the crowd's reaction was my favorite moment of the match, especially when Bate and Seven managed to lift DIY and do a spin with them on the shoulder. The final sequence was perfect with some exciting nearfalls, this match made me miss NXT Black and Gold, WWE won't be able to repeat the number of incredible matches they had back then."

[2.0] "Rating this match is harder than i thought, because on a surface level it looks "okay" but it's emphatically soulless and void stylistically. It's sequential nothingness. At the opening bell, the four guys take a good 5 minutes posturing, they do some World of Sport bollocks and then they hit virtually every move in their respective arsenals until the finish. It's "all flash, no substance" turned up to a hundred. Problem is, the metaphorical dial is only supposed to go up to ten. It doesn't help that it's also very shallow in pacing and selling. If i did enjoy the concept of this match, i still would find it boring! [2]"

Without a heel team this was obviously very heavy on 'moves', but I thought the pace at least built appropriately. The problem for me was that there were just a few too many moments where they got 'too cute' for my tastes, and that kept taking me out of it. Fans of this style of fast paced very 'indy' feeling tag will probably get more out of this than I did, but I think this was a little lacking in substance even if it was fun enough."

The first part has a fantastic in-ring psychology with the two teams taunting each other and a great mat wrestling sequence between Bate and Gargano. The second part is 20+ minutes of incredible NXT tag team action. Please watch this match, it's worth it"

[10.0] "This is an absolute masterpiece between two of the greatest tag teams in history right here, given totally randomly in a cross-over show. A dream match that lived up to the expectations in the most incredible way possible, everything was perfect from start to finish and I want to say that this is what tag team wrestling is all about. These four great workers are such pros for building great tag team matches and we can see that they put a lot of heart into it to offer a match totally worthy of their talent. Rarely a tag match touched me so emotionally, and I wish it never stopped because everything they did was so amazing. They delivered fantastic sequences and that crowd... that crowd man, they helped to make the match a success because they accompanied Ciampa, Gargano, Bate and Seven from the first to the last second of the match, they pop to absolutely everything and especially to those epic near-falls. I screamed and also laughed in front of this match, especially during the beginning sequences between Ciampa and Seven. Mention also to Bate and Gargano who made superb chain wrestling to start the match. This kind of sympathy that the two teams had between them was great, and when they really started to fight, it was pure magic. Easily one of my favorite tag team match of all time, easily 5 stars."

We had all in this match, the emotion with seeing #DIY perform together again, Moustache Mountain were incredible underdogs and the drama was absolutely fabulous. Everything they did, they did it with an absolute perfection. That is what I call a must see. *****"

[4.0] "A disappointingly generic NXT match. Despite the very limited build the premise - DIY reforming and the potential tension between the long time friends/rivals - was quite promising, and the beginning was quite interesting with Moustache Mountain playing the goofball adversaries to grumpy young man Ciampa. This rapidly went out the window as the match descended into another clusterfuck of finishers and kickouts, broken up by wrestlers looking tired in an effort to convey how hard fought the match was. No interesting narrative like dissension between DIY, or a rusty infrequent tag team being overpowered by the wily student-and-teacher opponents, or Gargano as a babyface-in-peril, just no structure. Overuse of the Burning Hammer, and Ciampa kicking out of it. Handshakes post-match mean it can't really be built on, so after the nonexistent build the feud now won't go anywhere either. Entertaining enough, but the epitome of a match that sacrifices story for moves and "drama"."

[4.0] "Embodies everything wrong with NXT in the last couple years. An abundance of athleticism on display in a fast-paced tag match between two fan-favourite teams, following the beats of the NXT-style epic made conventional with no defining moment holding any greater importance than to be featured as a 5-second GIF on Twitter. There is no drama to be engrossed in and no stakes at play. Just big moves that continue to lose their lustre from predictable false finishes. DIY patting themselves on the back as faces disgusts me. This is showmanship in the most shallow sense. No one was particularly on their A game and several big spots looked sloppy. 20+ minutes of an entertaining back-and-forth contest with nothing else to say. Congratulations, you impressed Meltzer. **1/4"

These are two of the absolute best teams in the world and they just know how to excite in the ring. I thought some of the playfulness at the beginning was out of place, as it felt to me they were trying too hard to be cool instead of putting on a great match and it began to almost feel like a house show match, but once they kicked it into that next great, it got absolutely great. I honestly think these two teams have one better in them, but this was great nonetheless. ****"

The beginning stages where the teams taunted off and showed respect was heartwarming and also actually funny at points. All of this feeling was before the in ring action even began, which was genuinely mind blowing from so many aspects. Not a single spot was poorly executed, not a moment was wasted, and the crowd was completely white hot for the whole match. DIY are one of my favourite Tag teams EVER, so to see them not only reunited, but reunited in such an incredible Tag Team match damn near brought me to tears."

[5.0] "The 1st half was self-indulgent fan service, and the 2nd half was a bland exhibition without time to breathe. In the first half, all 4 guys came off as goofy friends having a laugh and putting on a 'show' rather than engaging in athletic competition. Just look at Gargano and Bate making a big deal out of marvelling at their grappling, beaming big, cheesy grins at each other, and then "respectfully" shaking hands; or Seven and Ciampa wasting time posing (showing zero desire to actually beat each other) and then likewise "respectfully" shaking hands; or Gargano and Ciampa being overly chummy and mimicking each other when in control, hitting us over the head with a big "WE'RE HAPPY WE'RE FRIENDS AGAIN" sign. This stuff was majorly distracting because it was clear all 4 guys were just pandering to a live audience that already loved them, rather than doing any actual, impressive wrestling to win over anyone else. After that uneventful and rather cringeworthy first half, the wrestlers then jumped into big-move spamming territory, and they remained there until the end. The final 5 mins were complimented with bland finisher spam on top of bland big-move spam, and Gargano was the worst offender here, since his movement looked flimsy and his attacks lacked any convincing impact (and were only somewhat salvaged by Bate and Seven's decent bumping), and this was all because of his usual obsession with embarrassingly RACING through his spots like some first-year indy wrestler. Gargano wasn't the only guilty man, though, since his 3 friends soon followed in going absolutely overkill with all their big spots, of which almost all had ridiculously contrived set-ups. Despite this being overkill, it wasn't overkill to an insulting level. The general athleticism was admittedly impressive too (even if only in isolation), and a handful of exchanges/spots I even enjoyed; so, I didn't totally dislike this overall, but it was definitely mediocre at best. **1/2"

You could feel the respect between both teams, but you could also feel their desire to win. The reference to the match with The Revival was great. It's fine to milk the atmosphere for a while, even for a healthy 10 minutes if you're going long anyway (see also: Flair/Steamboat II), but it's not working towards the eventual finish, it's overindulgent. I still believe that this balance out to be a good ***½ to ***¾ level match as a whole, but that whole was far from cohesive."
