It's weird seeing Rhea as the underdog in a match but she was great here and did a great job overcoming Shayna's limb work and the interference of Duke and Shafir. I loved seeing the entire NXT roster come out to celebrate with Rhea.

The story was simple. Baszler was a big heel and Rhea played pretty great babyface role. Baszler's dominance was pretty basic but it was enough for the crowd to get behind Rhea. Rhea showed really performance overall. The final moments were really nice as Rhea struggled and fought back. The finish was great to end Baszler's title reign. However, I still think the work overall lacked something to become a truly fantastic battle.

I had high expectations for this match and it was even better than I had imagined, they told a big story and executed it brilliantly. Shayna's heel-work was masterful as usual, and Rhea has sublimated it perfectly in the manner of Kairi in 2018. This is easily Shayna's best match during her long reign as champion, and that's how you book the end of a legendary reign, that's how you create a star in the person of Rhea Ripley. Impressive main event, great action, great story, all under a great crowd, it was so damn excellent. Great job ladies. (****¼)

Man spürt beim Zusehen, dass die Story da ist, das sie, wenn auch nicht mit den begnadetsten Hilfsmitteln, plausibel erzählt wird. Klar wirkt das an einigen Stellen etwas over the top, vor allen Dingen beim Finisher, den Baszler regungslos hinnimmt, jedoch bewerte ich dann Drama und Matchstory höher. Das ist ein schicker Clash zweier Biester und am Ende dann im Rahmen ihrer Möglichkeiten das Beste, dass sie daraus machen konnten.

8122.12.2019TylerWhite6.0Sicherlich eines der besseren Shayna Baszler Matches, neben dem Fourway und dem Match gegen Mia Yim wahrscheinlich, aber es ist eben immer noch ein Shayna BAszler Match. Das bedeutet sie zeigt wieder einmal so gut wie gar nichts außer mehrmals die gleichen Submissions und den Spot bei dem sie auf Rheas Hand stampft. Natürlich müssen dann auch noch die anderen beiden MMA Damen kommen, aber Rhea wird natürlich als Superwoman gebookt und kann in der zugegeben sehr starken Schlussphase der Submission entkommen und Shayna endlich besiegen. Mich hat es kaum noch interessiert, da man diesen schrecklichen Titelrun nun viel zu lang hinausgezögert hat, dennoch freut es mich für Rhea, sie ist sehr talentiert und kann sicherlich endlich auch mal wieder gute Women's Matches bei NXT liefern, ich hoffe nur man bringt bei Takeover jetzt nicht das Rematch.
