[8.0] "Excellent booking for this match. The highlight is Dakota Kai's Heel Turn on Tegan Nox in the middle of a match which is beautifully done. Only Rhea Ripley and Candice LeRae fought on their team. Quite a few very nice dives including one from Io Shirai from the top of the cage. The finish is solid. Very heavy item usage during this match. (4*1/4)"

The betrayal by Dakota Kai which was in my opinion the best thing in the match and the whole show. Made no sense making Team Ripley win with only two wrestler. The heels look weak taking the L with such an advantage. Io Shirai got the most cheers even though she is a slimy heel. ***3/4"

[8.0] "A good Wargames, but not the best female WG in my opinion. Some nice spots but not that much as the focus was the more on the storytelling. Dakota's turn is great and impressive. However, the 2v4 dynamic was not used in the best way to my point of view as the finish just see the heel unable (with no reason) to use their number advantage and to break a long 1v1 between Rhea and Shayna. Still a very good match, and a very good way to make Ripley shine as she was clearly the star here. 8/10."

[10.0] "The best female wargames ever and one of the best wargames period. Great opening bout between Io and Candice, and the action only got more thrilling especially with Dakota's heel turn thus turning the match into 4-on-2. It was a great star making performance for Ripley, but Candice deserves credit, prior to this I had not seen much in her NXT run to excite me but she was very good here and able to take a lot of punishment convincingly. All women here were brilliant, although I'd have liked to see more of what Kay Lee Ray could have added to the equation. The match itself did not outstay its welcome which is one criticism I have toward wargames matches. One criticism I see levied online towards the match is toward the finish but I think they pulled it off well, it made Ripley look badass and the other 3 women had legitimate reasons to not be able to break up the pin, it was a fluke win but in a convincing way. If the heels run the match's legacy would have suffered."

[8.0] "A great outing for all eight women involved and a fantastic first-ever WarGames match for the women. Despite this being the first time women were involved in this match type, they definitely set a high standard for the main event. Plus, they were able to make a 4-on-2 situation work with Kai and Nox not even being in the match. Speaking of which, that heel turn was done great. Kai repeatedly smashing Nox's knee into the cage was fantastic, and her pushing Regal was crazy. Going back to the match itself, virtually everything was done well and not only did this set the standard for the night, but it also set the standard for Women's WarGames Matches going forward."

[7.0] "Out of all the WWE WarGames matches this one is probably one of the more interesting ones due to the heel turn from Dakota Kai, that finally gave this match some interest. It's hilarious, there was more viciousness in that attack in that small cage than the actual ring. That could potentially go for the entire stipulation's history in WWE. Still hate outside weapons involvement and the lack of a ceiling for the cage, but you do get moments like the Shirai moonsault."

[8.0] "The best Women's WarGames match... and it's still under all of the Men's NXT WarGames contests. I mean don't get me wrong, it was still bloody lovely. Dakota Kai's heel turn was well executed, Ripley and Nox holding the line for their team was great, Io Shirai was the best Women's wrestler in NXT, as per usual. They ran this match shorter than the Men's counterpart, but they used that time very well. What I disliked was the weapons, which I disliked in every NXT edition of the WarGames matches and to be honest... Ripley and Nox winning 4 vs 2 in this cage was ridiculous to me. Sure the effort was valiant, but in this instance, they should have lost. That takes the match down a notch to me."

The story was captivating, the wrestling was hard to watch in the best possible way, and the heel turn lives on to this day as one of the best in WWE history. Throw in the genuinely compelling underdog story and the white-hot finish, and you have yourself a turning point in NXT history. From the opening bell to the final moments, this match was everything that War Games is meant to be. 4.25 stars, 8.5 out of 10. This was one of the best War Games matches ever."

The action in the ring was sufficiently brutal and had really good spots with the storytelling being top notch. Kay Lee Ray teasing the crowd with the table was great and Kai's heel turn was perfection. The ending was great since Rhea was the only woman at the time that could believably take the belt off of Shayna. A fantastic match overall and definitely worth a rewatch."

Dakota's heel turn was impeccably executed and sold insanely well by Mauro Ranallo on commentary which just added to the moment. I understand the criticism of the finish but it's one of those ones where I can just let myself be swept up in the moment and fully get behind the underdog babyfaces fighting against all odds to eek out the victory. **** (15)"

Everybody was amazing, everybody did some great things, everybody made some big spots, everybody took some hard bumps, always with constant action and a crowd absolutely ON FIRE. And beyond the excellent action offered by all these women, this match also contains Dakota Kai's heel turn, which to this day is still fantastic and has been a major turning point in her career. I also loved the original booking of the match with this two-on-four situation that let us all believe that the babyface would lose, well no and their victory was sold as a big deal, and in wrestling it's cool the happy endings, sometimes. It was also the match that propelled Rhea to the rank of ultimate top star and that too is worth mentioning. Amazing job ladies, stellar opener. (****½)"

There were great spots aswell particularly Candice's Reverse Dragon-Rana and Io Shirai moonsault. Ripley winning the man with the Riptide through the chair on to Baszler set-up her dethroning the champion really well."

[6.0] "Wargames is a bit of a crap gimmick. It guarantees filler until everyone is in, and then none of the selling from that filler section carries over anyway since everyone goes into spot-monkey mode. Ultimately the entire first half is irrelevant (minus the heel turn in this instance). Other than that, this was a pure spot-fest, and an okay one, but I don't think there's a single part I'll remember tomorrow other than perhaps Kay Lee Ray doing a nice job with the bumps she took. Seems like everyone just stopped wrestling in the cage for an entire 5 minutes while the heel turn happened, too. All in all, this one got a bit boring for me, but there's just enough there for a "Satisfactory" rating. I didn't feel any sense of drama and can't even remember if there was a pinfall attempt prior to the finish. Maybe there was. The match didn't make me care in any case."

Anständiger Start in die Show."

Better storytelling, better character, to be honest better wrestling and more talent involved. My only small complaint is yes, it did seem like the heels should have won with the advantage, but to their credit they executed the ending in really spectacular fashion, I can really hardly fault them for it."

Gute Action, gute Spots. Da geht einiges."

[6.0] "This was nothing great but still decent enough. I didn't like the match when it just devolved into a messy brawl with weapon spots all over the place, but I enjoyed the eventual story of the babyfaces being 2-vs-4 against the heels. All 8 women eventually managed to get some rather cool spots that highlighted their agility and willingness to put themselves at risk, and this made the match finally feel properly exciting. A lot of the spots still felt a bit contrived, but there was still some obvious creativity and thought put into quite a few of them. It was very cheesy having the babyfaces win despite their numbers disadvantage, but enough effort was put into ensuring the other heels were appropriately put down, since Io took herself and Bianca out with the moonsault off the cage, and then Rhea put Kay Lee down immediately before going after Shana, so it felt reasonable that Rhea could put Shana away. Io and Rhea were definitely the standouts here, since Io had her fantastic agility and high-flying while Rhea played a very confident (and thus very intriguing) bruiser. ***"

[8.0] "Everyone was on their A-game here and delivered big time. So many brilliantly told stories specifically Dakota's heel turn that has an actual motive (her team treated her as a last-ditch effort). I also loved Rhea and Candice being put into a 4 on 2 situation. The only thing that slightly hurt the match was the crowd cheering loudly in favor of Shirai who is supposed to be a big heel. All in all, this was a fun opener with some brutal-looking spots (Kay Lee sliding down the cage like a cheese grater made me cringe). The ending was also brilliant. (****1/4)"

Io's moonsault was beautiful, but once again the momentum was lowered, when both victims waited in position. The finish was great. It makes me excited for Rhea vs Shayna and Dakota vs Tegan, maybe with the involvement of Mia. But as a match it left me rather disappointed."

Half of the heel team, where more over than the babyface team which made the heat sequences in the beginning of the match kinda useless. Then the whole angle on Dakota Kai lasted an entire fall and the follow-up isn't as interesting. They, then, did their spotfest in a 4vs2 situation and the finish came with no preparation. It was a very good match but filled with flaws. (***1/2)"

Thereafter, the tempo slowed considerably, taking the wind out of the match's sails. Dakota Kai's unexpected heel turn (while great in and of itself) handicapped the bout, opening the door for a lot of meandering and laying around. There are a few great sequences and spots intermixed throughout the remainder of the match (LeRae's Avalanche Poisonrana, Shirai's Moonsault etc. ), but the wrestling itself is lacking. It's a Riptide through chairs that ends the match, as Ripley and LeRae stand tall over the four other women. A questionable choice there. Overall, the end product wasn't as great as it could've been. ***1/4"

The NXT and NXT UK woman's champs both lose with 2 other people on there side to Rha and Candice who is considered NXT's jobber by most. Makes no sense Mia was yanked from the match just for a heel turn spot, which could have been done without Dakota taking Mia's place. Just had Tagan be the last person to enter and Dakota come out and attack her. 3 vs 4 would have been way better."

Showed why she was in that match after not being a regular. Hope to see more of her. And the heel turn by Dakota Kai. It seemed obvious to take place and when it happened, I went nuts. It was absolutely deserved as well. Her attacking Nox's leg, taking her out of the match was awesome. But then she made me get a little hate against her by attacking Regal. It all worked perfectly. The rest of the match however, really wasn't interesting or memorable. It didn't feel like a match at parts. Just a moment here, a moment there and entrances. The story of the match didn't really come off well at all. And the team with the two wrestlers not being destroyed by Team Baszler after Nox had to forfeit her place and Dakota left, or even dominated in a meaningful way, is poor booking and added to the disjointed feel to it. Easily the worst War Games WWE has done, imo. It wasn? t bad but it didn? t hit much notes for me at all. **1/2"
