203.02.2024Tasmo1210.0This show goes beyond anything that was worth the hype. This might be one of the best shows of all-time. We got all-time classics like Shibata vs. IIshi, Suzuki vs. Naito, Devitt vs. Tanahashi, Makabe vs. Okada, Nakamura vs. Ibushi, Smith Jr. vs. Kojima. We just got an absolute bang of a fucking card right here from New Japan Pro Wrestling and a peak event if you ever needed to see one. [*****1/4]

2026.05.2021Suzukigun10.0For those wondering if this show really deserves this rating, the answer is a resounding yes. The opener was meh, but the rest? My goodness was it epic. There were two MOTY contenders, with Shibata/Ishii still standing as one of the best sub-15 minute matches ever, if not the best. There were four other matches that were worthy of 4 stars. The other matches were all in the ***1/2 range. This was the show that got me hooked on New Japan years ago and I still go back to watch it at least once a year. 10/10 easily.
2103.02.2021medouse10.0One of the best G1 Climax tournament nights in history. Everybody worked their ass off and did their match like it was for the title prize. The best matches: 1)Katsuyori Kojima vs Tomohiro Ishii, 2)Shinsuke Nakamura vs Kota Ibushi.

2427.06.2020snakepit9.0[Yano/Yujiro] Entertaining; benefitted from a thoroughly invested crowd. (**1/2) [Anderson/Tenzan] Fine match, nothing extraordinary. Adequate heel work from Anderson. (***1/4) [Benjamin/Nagata] Rather boring --- a sentiment evidently shared by the live crowd, who collectively fell silent for the first/only time of the night. Suffered from a conspicuous lack of any sort of coherent story --- bar a crap ton of ankle hold reversals --- as well as weird pacing. (**3/4) [DBS/Kojima] Very good. While a parallel can be drawn to Match 2, this was clearly superior --- a greater sense of urgency; more active, provocative heel work; an infinitely better comeback. (***3/4) [Ishii/Shibata] One of the GOAT matches, as well as a personal fave. Easy MOTN. (*****) [Goto/Archer] Decent. Archer looked more dominant than ever, even in defeat. (***1/2) [Naito/MiSu] Decent in-ring action as expected, vicious leg work by MiSu. Having said that, the story felt slightly incomplete --- a longer comeback by Naito would have been nice! (***3/4) [Devitt/Tana] Creative heel work by Devitt --- taunting Tana during his entrance (guitar), then after applying a Cobra Twist (air guitar). Match itself was hurt by excessive interferences, which undeniably prevented it from being as good as it promised to be. (***) [Makabe/Okada] Focused work on the lower back by Okada --- complemented by decent selling. Excellent pacing throughout. Huge crowd pop at the finish. (****1/4) [Nakamura/Ibushi] Stiff strikes, some technical craftiness by Shinsuke and an appearance by Ultra-Ibushi --- upon second viewing, I stand corrected regarding my original opinion of this match. (****3/4) Overall, this event definitely lives up to its reputation as one of the all-time best wrestling cards.

2711.04.2020RoscoeSantangelo10.0First time watching this show in full and it lives up. IMO you get 2 absolute 5 star classics (Shibata/Ishii and Nak/Ibushi), 3 4 star+ greats (Naito/Suzuki, Devitt/Tanahashi, Makabe/Okada), and then the rest is all 3. 25+ except for the opener. All made better by the hot crowd the whole night. Really well paced card with a few extraordinary matches on top of an undercard of great ones

3617.09.2018owenc51010.0This was genuinely one of the best shows I have ever seen. It left me breathless by the end of it and it really was worth the watch. It really picked up at the Kojima vs Smith match and just kept going and didn't slow down. Well it slowed down a bit at the Goto vs Archer match but that's just because it came after the all time classic match between Shibata and Ishii. I'm not saying Goto vs Archer was bad because I found it very good. the best match by far was Shibata vs Ishii. Second best was Ibushi vs Nakamura. Other truly fantastic matches from the show were Naito vs Suzuki, Makabe vs Okada, and Tanahashi vs Devitt in that order. the other matches like Benjamin vs Nagata and Tenzan vs Anderson were good too but they were in the shadow of these other matches that were just super. The worst match on the show was Yano vs Takahashi but it was the opening match so it didn't cause a lag in the action.

4614.11.2016Undisputed10.0What the hell is happend here? This show was amazing, G1 Climax in 2013 was a perfect tournament and matches like Shibata/Ishii oraz Nakamura/Ibushi is proof about that. 4th day was the best event from NJPW in 2013, great stiff and agression beetwen Shibata and Ishii, a lot of chemistry in main event and good rest of matches.

6029.08.2014eldenaaaaa10.0One of the best wrestling shows I have ever watched. I was in awe of the wrestling I witnessed throughout the show. Two all time classic matches, three terrific matches, and an outstanding under card, all on the same show. If you watch one show from this year's G1 Climax, you HAVE to make it this one. New Japan Pro Wrestling have done it again.

6305.11.2013Nazirul Takashi10.0If your event has 9 matches that were rated above 3 Stars, then you can brag about your ability to book a show to the entire world. This event is, from top to bottom, were enjoyable. Sure, the opener's a bit dull while Benjamin, Anderson, Smith and Archer had to be carried to a 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 Star Matches, but the rest of the card were the Japanese version of WM 17. From good to great matches, this show has it all. Well done NJPW!

6616.09.2013Leone10.0I think I have now found my favourite Wrestling Card. This was unbelievable. 10 matches altogether with 1 being okay, 4 being good or very good, and 5 that blew the quality out of the water, including a very explosive 12 minute match that received 5 stars between Shibata and Ishii (who knew Ishii had it in him! ), and a near 5 star main event between New Japan Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura, and the DDT underdog, Kota Ibushi. For a card to be this good in quality, you would normally be getting a DVD anthology from a majority of promotions, and that includes Ring Of Honor and WWE. Overall, this was better than Wrestlemania 17. Overall, this was better than Money In The Bank 2011. It was criminally good, I would give it 11 if I could. The biggest downside is that only 6700 people saw it live. Absolutely phenomenal.
Eine komplett unglaublich gute Show, sofort angucken, alle!

7023.08.2013Davord10.0One of the greatest cards I've ever seen of any promotion. Had a variety of different styles of matches and just jaw dropping action. Great crowd too!

7314.08.2013Flegmatico9.0Two amazing matches and a bunch of good ones. Much better than Day 3!
NJPW = Nr. 1!

7610.08.2013Rancor10.0Unfassbar starke Show mit so vielen Facetten.
Bester Show des Jahres, ohne jeden Zweifel.
7906.08.2013sign squad10.0Best Show I have ever seen.
Super Finishphase. (8/10) Ishii gegen Shibata im "who kills his opponent first", was die Leute in der Halle total mitgerissen hat. (9/10)
